  • Magnetic couplings are do not require any mechanical contact with the power transmitted to the secondary side according to the primary side. For this reason, well-suited for isolated systems such as vacuums or high pressure. So, this paper presents the force characteristic analysis of the permanent magnet (PM) linear coupling with vertical magnetized using an analytical magnetic field calculations. Based on the definition of governing equations and magnetic vector potential, we obtained the analytical solutions according to the boundary condition for each of the regions. Also, we derived from the force generated in the permanent magnet surface using the Maxwell stress tensor. The analytical results are proved the validity by comparing to the finite element method (FEM).

  • Synchronous Reluctance Motor (SynRM) has a simple structure with high efficient and without rotor conductor loss. Therefore, it is better than induction motor for electric vehicle (EV) on aspect of efficiency. SynRM usually operates on the constant torque region using maximum torque per ampere (MTPA)control which is adopted due to rotor structure limitation. Thus, the accurate current angle is crucial for motor control. However, finite element analysis (FEA) program is not sufficient exactly to regard how the iron loss and magnetic saturation influences on the current angle. Consequently, this paper proposed a method to calculate the current angle with consideration of iron loss.

  • This paper presents detailed characteristic of a Reluctance Synchronous Motor(RSM) which has a transverse-laminated rotor. First of all, the analysis of a magnetic circuit field between stator and rotor should be achieved in order to predict the performance characteristic of the RSM. For the analysis of a magnetic circuit field, the Finite Element(FE) analysis and a experimental method are used. The analytical result of the inductance flux distribution, vector potential, and the output shows some good characteristic along with the load condition.

  • This paper presents a design and analysis solutions for the general class and control parameter estimation of slotted iron-cored Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor with Halbach magnetization stator and 3-phase winding mover. In our design and analysis, stator consisting of permanent magnets and slotted iron-cored coil mover are treated in a uniform way via magnetic vector potential. For one such motor structure, we give analytical formulas for its magnetic field, back electromotive force and trust force. Moreover, the detent force are calculated by the relative permeance function. In good agreement with the estimated values from the analyses, the experimental results and Finite Element Method (FEM) confirm the validity of the design and analysis framework.

  • A novel high birefringent polymer terahertz (THz) fiber with a suspended elliptical core is proposed in this paper. The introduction of an elliptical core can enhance asymmetry to realize high mode birefringence, and a large porous outer cladding effectively isolates the core-guided mode from interacting with the surrounding environment. A full-vector finite element method(FEM) is used to analyze the characteristics of the THz fiber. Simulation results show that the suspended elliptical fiber exhibits high mode birefringence on a level of $10^{-2}$ over a wide frequency range, and an extremely large mode birefringence(${\approx}0.06226$) is obtained when ellipticity is 0.2. Moreover, a suspended hollow elliptical core fiber is also discussed for the purpose of lower loss, however high mode birefringence and low relative absorption loss can not coexist in such a kind of fiber.

  • The divergence-free finite elements introduced in this paper are derived from Hermite functions, which interpolate stream functions. Velocity bases are derived from the curl of the Hermite functions. These velocity basis functions constitute a solenoidal function space, and the gradient of the Hermite functions constitute an irrotational function space. The incompressible Navier-Stokes equation is orthogonally decomposed into its solenoidal and irrotational parts, and the decoupled Navier-Stokes equations are then projected onto their corresponding spaces to form appropriate variational formulations. The degrees of the Hermite functions we introduce in this paper are bi-cubis, quartic, and quintic. To verify the accuracy and convergence of the present method, three well-known benchmark problems are chosen. These are lid-driven cavity flow, flow over a backward facing step, and buoyancy-driven flow within a square enclosure. The numerical results show good agreement with the previously published results in all cases.

The equipotential line and electric field and field vector in a VI are analysed by a finite element method at various shield form. in result, The equipotential line and electric field distribution was affected to VI shield form. The reason is as it gets distortion of equipotential line done. shield of cup type is how to electric field distribution, finally, this paper recognized whether or not affected, and proposed gap with the most suitable shield length and an external insulation.

  • The performance analysis and robust control of the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) greatly depend on accurate value of its parameters. To achieve the high performance of torque control, it is necessary to consider exact inductance values because the inductances are nonlinear parameters of operating the IPMSM. Therefore many different methods have been performed for analysis of the methodology for the exact measurement of synchronous inductances. None of them is considered standard, and accuracy levels of all these methods are also not consistent. Among these experimental methods, the DC current decay test and the vector current control test are ideal for a laboratory environment. In this paper, these two test methods are compared by applying inductances to the IPMSM. The paper analyzes the measured inductances of the two methods and their differences with inductances obtained from the finite element method(FEM).

  • In the machine tool industry, direct drive linear motor technology is of increasing interest as a means to achieve high acceleration, and to increase reliability. This paper deals with the characteristics of tubular type linear oscillating actuator with Halbach magnet array. The magnetic field solutions are derived analytically in terms of vector potential, two dimensional cylindrical coordinate system and Maxwell's equations. Motor thrust, flux linkage, back emf are then derived. The results are shown in good conformity with those obtained from the commonly used finite element method. Test results such as thrust measurements are also given to confirm the analysis.
