  • In CALS/EC environment, there are geographically dispersed heterogeneous databases and various applications. Integrated database environment provides transparent access mechanism for heterogeneous and distributed databases and interoperability between applications in various platforms. Because elements exist geographically in integrated database environment, directory service is necessary for providing unique access mechanism for elements. In this paper, we design a directory service using CORBA based access interface and object-oriented DIB model for accessing transparently to elements and interoperability with other information system.

  • With the advancements or LEDs and lasers in projection display applications, arc lamps still provide the most cost effective solution to high brightness display systems. When will arc lamps become obsolete, will be of great importance today and tomorrow? Given the fact that traditional elliptical and parabolic reflectors had been around for decades; Wavien's new dual paraboloid reflector (DPR) technology with its unique imaging property enhances various aspects of the arc lamp performance will shed some light to this question. In this talk, various applications that are feasible today and anticipated needs of tomorrow will be presented.

  • We investigate the explicit evaluation for the sum $\sum_{(a,b,x,y){\in}\mathbb{N}^4,\\{ax+by=n},\\{C(x,y)}$ ab in terms of various divisor functions (where C(x, y) is the set of residue conditions on x and y) for various fixed C(x, y). We also obtain some identities and congruences as interesting applications.

  • A series of microcavity plasma devices having various electrode geometries were investigated for the display and lighting applications. Addressable, self-assembled Al/$Al_2O_3$ electrodes were fabricated in a thin, flexible single sheet of Al foil. And, enhanced luminance and efficient microplasmas are achieved by precise control of the cross-sectional geometry and surface morphology of the cavities within the microplasma devices. New microdischarge system fabricated in various substrates will be introduced.

  • Recently, there has been much interest in magnetic thin film patterned in submicron scale because of possible ultrahigh density storage media or logical device applications [1-3]. Various geometries such as rectangle, circle, ring and ellipse type dots have been studied to find the shape showing stable switching behavior from repeated cycles. However, rectangle and circle types may not be suitable for device applications because they have two uncontrollable different magnetization reversal modes: C state and S state, resulting in different coercivity and irreproducible switching[4]. • A very important feature in the development of nuclear technology has been and will continue to be the flow of information from nuclear data production to the various applications fields in nuclear technology. Both, nuclear data and this communications flow are defined in this paper. Nuclear data result from specific technical activities including their production, evaluation, processing, verification, validation and applications. These activities are described, focusing on nuclear reactor calculations. Mathematical definitions of different types of nuclear data are introduced, and international forums involved in nuclear data activities are listed. Electronic links to various sources of information available on the web are specified, whenever possible.

  • Some optical schemes of lenses for spacecraft developed by the author are considered. The main optical characteristics of telescope lenses of various architectures are compared. We propose compact solutions of mirror, lens-mirror, and lens systems with maximum available angular resolutions and other parameters. Examples of calculating the optical systems of lenses used for various tasks both in the field of astronomy and in the field of remote sensing of the Earth and other planets are given. The example of onboard computer system is discussed. Practical recommendations on the development and use of telescope lenses are given.

  • Security threats are increasing with interest due to the mass spread of smart devices, and vulnerabilities in developed applications are being exposed while mobile malicious codes are spreading. The government and companies provide various applications for the public, and for reliability and security of applications, security checks are required during application development. In this paper, among the security threats that can occur in the mobile service environment, we set up the vulnerability analysis items to respond to security threats when developing Android-based applications. Based on the set analysis items, vulnerability analysis was performed by examining three applications of public institutions and private companies currently operating as mobile applications. As a result of application security checks used by three public institutions and companies, authority management and open module stability management were well managed. However, it was confirmed that many security vulnerabilities were found in input value verification, outside transmit data management, and data management. It is believed that it will contribute to improving the safety of mobile applications through the case of vulnerability analysis for Android application security.

  • Currently, graphene is a topic of very active research in fields from science to potential applications. For various radio-frequency (RF) circuit applications including low-noise amplifiers, the unique ambipolar nature of graphene field-effect transistors can be utilized for high-performance frequency multipliers, mixers and high-speed radiometers. Potential integration of graphene on Silicon substrates with complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor compatibility would also benefit future RF systems. The future success of the RF circuit applications depends on vertical and lateral scaling of graphene metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors to minimize parasitics and improve gate modulation efficiency in the channel. In this paper, we highlight recent progress in graphene materials, devices, and circuits for RF applications. For passive RF applications, we show its transparent electromagnetic shielding in Ku-band and transparent antenna, where its success depends on quality of materials. We also attempt to discuss future applications and challenges of graphene.

  • Organizations have been implementing mobile applications that actually connect to their backend enterprise applications (e.g. ERP, SCM, etc.) in order to increase the enterprise mobility. However, most of the organizations are still struggling to fully satisfy their mobile application users with the enterprise mobility. Even though it has been regarded as the right direction that the traditional enterprise system should move on, the studies on the success model for mobile enterprise applications in user's acceptance perspective can hardly be found. Thus, this study focused not only to redefine the success of the mobile enterprise application in user's acceptance persepective, but also to find the impacts of the factors on user's usage behavior of the mobile enterprise applications. In order to achieve this, we adopted the Technology Acceptance Model 2 (TAM2) as a model to figure out the user's behavior on mobile applications. Among various mobile enterprise applications, this study chose mobile ERP since it is the most representing enterprise applications that many organizations have implemented in their backend. This study found that not all the constructs defined by Davis in TAM2 have a significant influence on user's behavior of the mobile-ERP applications. However, it is also found that most social influence processes of TAM2 influence user's perception of the degree of interaction by mobile-ERP applications.
