An investigation focusing on the unrecorded and taxonomically undescribed indigenous has been done since 2006. Samples were collected from various sites in the coastal and offshore waters of Korea as well as around Jeju Island. Since 2008, 16 unrecorded species belonging to the family Gymnodiniaceae have been found. The species were as follows: Amphidinium thermaeum (2015), Cochlodinium convolutum (2015), C. strangulatum (2015), Gymnodinium abbreviatum (valid name: G. gracile), G. arenicola (2015), G. gracile (2015), G. dorsalisulcum (2015), G. microreticulatum (2014), G. micrum (2016) (valid name: Karlodinium micrum), G. pyrenoidosum (2016), G. simplex (2015), G. veneficum (2016) (valid name: Karlodinium veneficum), Gyrodinium aureum (2015), G. fusiforme (2015), G. dominans (2014), and Nusuttodinium latum (2016) (valid name: Amphidinium latum). (The numbers in parentheses refer to the year that the species was found). These species were newly recorded in Korean waters in this study.

The earliest pre-Linnaean fungal genera are briefly discussed here with special emphasis on the nomenclatural connection with the genus Cordyceps Fr. Since its valid publication under the basidiomycetous genus Clavaria Vaill. ex L. (Clavaria militaris L. Sp. Pl. 2:1182, 1753), the genus Cordyceps has undergone nomenclatural changes in the post-Linnaean era, but has stood firmly for approximately 200 years. Synonyms of Cordyceps were collected from different literature sources and analyzed based on the species they represent. True synonyms of Cordyceps Fr. were defined as genera that represented species of Cordyceps Fr. emend. G. H. Sung, J. M. Sung, Hywel-Jones & Spatafora. The most common synonyms of Cordyceps observed were Clavaria and Sphaeria Hall, reported in the 18th and in the first half of the 19th century, respectively. Cordyceps, the oldest genus in the Cordyceps s. s. clade of Cordycipitaceae, is the most preferred name under the "One Fungus = One Name" principle on priority bases.

Squalus acanthias has been considered the valid scientific name for piked dogfish by many taxonomists, although others recognize two valid species, Squalus suckleyi and S. acanthias, based on differences in the numbers of precaudal vertebrae and their distribution. We compared Korean piked dogfish with S. acanthias from New Zealand using morphological and molecular methods to elucidate the taxonomy. The Korean piked dogfish was distinguished from S. acanthias from New Zealand by the number of precaudal vertebrae (70-75 in the former vs. 77-80 in the latter) and 540 base pairs in the mitochondrial DNA cytochrome c oxidase subunit I sequence (genetic distance: 0.007-0.013). Therefore, we suggest that the scientific name of the Korean piked dogfish be changed from S. acanthias to S. suckleyi.

Littorophilosa lineuta is described from Korea as new. Four Littorophiloscia species from Japan (L. nipponensis Nunomura, 1986; L. hoyoshii Nunomura, 1986; L. longicouda Nunomura, 1986; L. hvugoensis Nunomura, 1986) are considered to be conspecific. L. nipponensis is chosen as a valid name anti L. koreono Taiti and Ferrara, 1986 from Korea is considered as another junior svnonyrn.

한반도의 서남 도서지역인 대흑산도에 서식하는 당근속(Daucus)식물의 외부형태학적 형질을 중심으로 하여 분류학적 재검토를 수행하였다. 또한, 대흑산도의 해안 지역에 서식하고 있는 당근류를 갯당근(Daucus littoralis Sibth. et Sm. var. koreana Nakai)으로 여러 도감에 기재되어 있어, 이들에 대한 식물명 및 분류학적 실체에 대하여 조사하였다. 갯당근으로 동정되어 있는 석엽표본과 현지 조사 결과, 해안에 서식하는 당근류는 잎 및 열매의 형태에서 차이를 보여 D. littoralis가 아닌 D. carota L. subsp. carota로 밝혀졌으며 상기 아종의 국명을 당근(D. carota subsp. sativa)와 구별하기 위해 산당근으로 신청하였고, 줄기가 곧으며 갈라지지 않는 미기록 분류군인 D. carota subsp. maritimus의 국명을 선당근으로 신청하였다.

Tiffany & Co. had been recognized so highly in Korea even before its official advance to the country in 1991 that a successful jewelry company was called 'Korean Tiffany'. The purpose of this study was to explain how American brand Tiffany had been spread and recognized among Korean people by analyzing related articles and advertisements during the period from the Liberation to the 1989. The research method used in this study was the articles of newspapers and relevant literature. This is the result that, with the run of movie 'Breakfast at Tiffany's in Korea in 1962, the trade name and trademark of Tiffany were used illegally not only by jewelry traders but also by other businesses. Other luxury jewelry brands in the same period could not enjoy indirect advertising and spillover effects as good as Tiffany. As a result, a successful jewelry company was called 'Korean Tiffany' in 1989, and the expression is still valid in the country.

A taxonomic study of small mammals (Erinaceomorpha, Soricomorpha and Rodentia) was conducted in order to find out the scientific names which have been used in Korea. The synonymy of each species and taxonomical research was reviewed and confirmed in this study. The species names are rearranged based on recent studies. Among the various confused names, available names were adopted such as follows: C. shantungensis shantungensis known as Crocidura suaveolens; C. shantungensis quelpartis known as C. dsinezumi; Rattus tanezumi known as R. rattus, called black rat, roof rat and ship rat, respectively. Apodemus sylvaticus (Muridae, wood mouse) is excluded in the checklist based on indistinct previous records and ambiguous habitation on the Korean Peninsula, and neighbors. In addition, we provide a new Korean vernacular name for Myocastor coypus, called the "Nutria" in Korea. We reflect that several species are repositioned to other genera. A checklist of Korean small mammals and synonym list for each species is provided to avoid confusion of scientific names in Korea. In this study, the list of small mammals in Korea is arranged to 33 species, 20 genera, 8 families, and 3 orders.

본 논문에서는 웹 페이지 운영자가 웹 서버에 패스워드로 보호된 웹 영역을 배치시키는데 편리함을 제공하는 목적으로 새로운 패스워드 인증 방안을 제안한다. 이 방법에 따라 웹 영역은 접근 제한된 웹 페이지가 저장된 웹서버의 보안 디렉토리에 연결된다. 패스워드는 보안 디렉토리의 이름을 생성하는데 사용되며, 자바스크립트 코드는 보안 디렉토리영역 외부의 인증 웹 페이지에 포함된다. 이 스크립트 코드는 사용자가 입력한 패스워드를디렉토리 이름으로 변환시키고, 보안 디렉토리 내부의 접근 제한된 웹 페이지를 지시하는 완전한 URL을 형성한다. 따라서, 패스워드를 아는 사용자만이 유효한 URL을 구성할 수 있고, 접근 제한된 웹 페이지를 검색할 수 있다. 이 방법에 따라, 웹 페이지 운영자는 서버 독립적인 방식으로 패스워드로 보호된 웹 영역을 배치할 수 있다.

For an efficient management and utilization of marine biodiversity information, we made an attempt to develop the Korea Marine Biodiversity Information System (KoMBIS), building a species name inventory of Korea marine organisms. The inventory includes 17 organism groups: phytoplankton, zooplankton, algae and halophyte, sponges, cnidarians, rotifers, nematodes, bryozoans, brachiopods, molluscs, echiurans, annelids, arthropods, echinoderms, urochordates and fish. The species names were collected from 37 different references and reviewed for validity by taxonomists, which resulted in 9,798 valid names in addition to 1,845 synonyms. The Korea marine species inventory is the first one of this kind, for previous Korean species name inventories were mostly composed of terrestrial and freshwater organisms. KoMBIS, the information system developed, contains not only the species name but also information on morphological and ecological characteristics such as distribution, DNA barcode, and references. This system is convenient for the inputting of new data and servicing users through the internet, so that management and utilization of the biodiversity information is more efficient. Linking the DNA barcode data with species information provides an objective measure for identification of a species, which accommodates the recommendation of Consortium for the Barcode of Life, and makes the Korea marine biodiversity information compatible with international databases. Considering the frequent exchange of marine organisms internationally via ballast water and such issues as climate change, this information system will be useful in many areas of marine biodiversity.

본 연구에서는 방송 광고의 음악과 관련된 규정의 변화를 비판적으로 검토하고 방송통신심의위원회의 사후 심의 결과를 분석하였으며 그 결과를 바탕으로 문제점에 대해 논의한 후 개선 방안을 제시하였다. 일반 주요 규제로서 동요와 민요 관련 규정의 경우, 동요의 개사는 금지(비 상업적 공익광고 예외)되며 민요의 개사는 가능하지만 가사에 상품과 관련된 표현은 금지된다. 편곡은 동요와 민요가 모두가능하다. 품목별 규정으로서 의약품의 경우 제품명을 노래 가사로 사용하는 것은 금지되며, 주류는 제품명 또는 제조사 등 제품과 관련된 명칭 및 음주를 권장하는 내용이 포함된 가사는 금지된다. 이와 같은 광고 음악의 제한 및 금지 규정의 근거는 불분명하거나 그 타당성이 미약한 부분이 있어 개선의 여지가 필요하다. 또한 모바일 디바이스 사용의 확산으로 방송과 인터넷 등 매체 간의 경계가 불문명한 시대에 청소년 등 특정한 계층을 보호할 목적으로 방송 광고만 규제하는 것은 비합리적이라는 지적을 받을 수 있기 때문에 개선할 필요가 있으며 이를 위해 미래에는 보다 타당성 있는 연구가 실행되어야 할 것이다.
