In this paper, two diagnosis algorithms using the simple fuzzy, cognitive map (FCM) that is an useful qualitative model are proposed. The first basic algorithm is considered as a simple transition of Shiozaki's signed directed graph approach to FCM framework. And the second one is an extended version of the basic algorithm. In the extension, three important concepts, modified temporal associative memory (TAM) recall, temporal pattern matching algorithm and hierarchical decomposition are adopted. As the resultant diagnosis scheme takes short computation time, it can be used for on-line fault diagnosis of large scale and complex processes that conventional diagnosis methods cannot be applied. The diagnosis system can be trained by the basic algorithm and generates FCM model for every experienced process fault. In on-line application, the self-generated fault model FCM generates predicted pattern sequences, which are compared with observed pattern sequences to declare the origin of fault. In practical case, observed pattern sequences depend on transport time. So if predicted pattern sequences are different from observed ones, the time weighted FCM with transport delay can be used to generate predicted ones. The fault diagnosis procedure can be completed during the actual propagation since pattern sequences of tvo different faults do not coincide in general.

This paper proposes the compensation algorithm of conventional shift pattern using fuzzy reasoning in automatic transmission vehicles. Recently, automatic transimssion vehicles are continually increasing because of theire ease to drive. Also users require the high performance which includes the smooth shift quality and shift scheduling that matches driver;s intentions. So the shift scheduling has been inproved significantly through the application of electronic control. But, in spite of this development, vehicles using conventional shift pattern are sometimes in discord with driver's intention on roads. In this paper, the paper, the proposed compensation algorithm makes a automatic transmission vehicle be able to select an optimal gear shifting time and position using fuzzy reasoning and make a vehicle driver feel confortable even when the vehicle runs on roads which is extremely changed. Therefore, a vehicle driver can expect to reduce the nimber of unnecessary gear shifting and expect the fuel efficiency high. To show usefulness of the proposed method, some simulation are made to compared with conventional gear shifting. Paper prosposes the compensation mehtod of conventional shift pattern using fuzzy reasoning for the purpose that a vehicle can select an optimal gerar shifting time and position in automatic vehicle. Though the conventional shift pattern has no pliability, vehicle driver can feel comfortable and can reduce the number of unnecessary gear shifting using the proposed method on variable road condition. Therefore, it can be expected the fuel efficiency.

Recently, lots of researchers work focused on the intrusion detection system. Pattern matching technique is commonly used to detect the intrusion in the system, However, the method requires a lot of time to match between systems rule and inputted packet data. This paper proposes a new intrusion detection system based on the pattern matching technique. Proposed system reduces the required time for pattern matching by using classified system rule. The classified rule is implemented with a general tree for efficient pattern matching. Thereby, proposed system could perform network intrusion detection efficiently.

This research aims to recognize necessity of modern expression of traditional pattern, understand the matter which is expressed when developing design using traditional pattern, and find the solutions. As the solutions, this research presents design of traditional pattern using symmetry concept and works on the possibility of symmetry as the pattern design. So this research carried out in-depth interview to textile designer working at Gyeongsangnam-do, analyzed the substances. The main results are as follows. First, the presented problems of developing common pattern design and designing using traditional pattern show the necessities for adequate harmony among conception of creative idea, traditional pattern and present pattern. As the solution, the efficient design principles are required. Second, the seven traditional figures can present design applying symmetry, also draw the 8 mapping models for the visuality and utilization. Third, the symmetry-applied traditional pattern design makes it possible for the traditional figure to be represented with the creative and modern sense and provides easier way to the design development by complementing the pattern design formation. As the result, symmetry-utilized traditional pattern design improvement shows the expectation that it will increase the design development ability and ease the figure drawing. In addition, the pattern development which can be applied to any figure presents the time efficiency as well as possibility of the high added value textile industry.

ECG pattern was classified using a back-propagation neural network. An improved feature extractor of ECG is proposed for better classification capability. It is consisted of preprocessing ECG signal by an FIR filter faster than conventional one by a factor of 5. QRS complex recognition by moving-window integration, and peak extraction by quadratic approximation. Since the FIR filter had a periodic frequency spectrum, only one-fifth of usual processing time was required. Also, segmentation of ECG signal followed by quadratic approximation of each segment enabled accurate detection of both P and T waves. When improtant features were extracted and fed into back-propagation neural network for pattern classification, the required number of nodes in hidden and input layers was reduced compared to using raw data as an input, also reducing the necessary time for study. Accurate pattern classification was possible by an appropriate feature selection.
This paper presents a new locomotion mode recognition method based on a transformed correlation feature analysis using an electromyography (EMG) pattern. Each movement is recognized using six weighted subcorrelation filters, which are applied to the correlation feature analysis through the use of six time-domain features. The proposed method has a high recognition rate because it reflects the importance of the different features according to the movements and thereby enables one to recognize real-time EMG patterns, owing to the rapid execution of the correlation feature analysis. The experiment results show that the discriminating power of the proposed method is 85.89% (${\pm}2.5$) when walking on a level surface, 96.47% (${\pm}0.9$) when going up stairs, and 96.37% (${\pm}1.3$) when going down stairs for given normal movement data. This makes its accuracy and stability better than that found for the principal component analysis and linear discriminant analysis methods.

Nowadays, Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry is a well-established measuring technique with a wide range of industrial applications, particularly in the fields of deformation measurement and vibration analysis. Comparing with holographic interferometry, it has some attractive features, which are rapid recording and reconstruction, satisfiable automation etc. The Time-Average ESPI is used to provide vibration mode shape of an object whose vibration amplitude is given as a fringe pattern. Its merit is rapid and simple measurement for vibrating object. However, it is not possible to determine the direction of motions of a point on the object at any given time, because it does not give any information about the phase of vibration. But, Stroboscopic ESPI can measure the amplitude and phase of vibrating surface. In this paper, loudspeakers were tested by these two methods. As a result, we can assume that these techniques will be applied directly in the loudspeaker industry.

The aims of this study are to develop CAI programs for bodice and sleeve pattern drafting for the 3rd grade students in a middle school and to compare the students’achievement degree in using traditional teaching method with that in using CAI programs. On the basis of results above the direction and possibility of using computers in education home economics is another aim. For this study, after the programs are developed, which is on the model of middle school text book, one hundred girl students of 2nd grade of middle school in Songpa Gu, Seoul, who have never given Bodice and Sleep Pattern Drafting lesson are chosen. The students are divided into two groups: one is called comparison group, which is taught by traditional method, the other, experimental group, which is taught by CAI programs. To evalute the learning achivement degree, evaluation test, effectiveness of learning and interest degree test and time test are given. Questionaire investigation about CAI program is given to experimental group. The results of this study are as follows: 1. CAI programs on pattern drafting are developed and can be used in the class. 2. In the tests of achievement degree, of effectiveness, and of interest the experimental group gets higher scores than the comparison group. 3. In the time test about how many students can draft the pattern in a given time, in every step more students in experimental group finished drafting than the comparison group. 4. The students showed interest in CAI programs and played an active part in the using computers. Therefore, using CAI programs in the class of pattern drafting saved the teachers lots of difficulties and enables individual learning improving the effectiveness of learning. I hope the studies of CAI will be established in other field as well as Home Economics, especially clothing part, and computers will be used lively
