A reactor protection system (RPS) plays the roles of generating the reactor trip signal and the engineered safety features (ESF) actuation signal when the monitored plant processes reach predefined limits. A Korean project group is developing a new digitalized RPS and the Cabinet Operator Module (COM) of the RPS which is used for the RPS integrity testing and monitoring by an equipment operator. A flat panel display (FPD) with a touch screen capability is provided as a main user interface for the RPS operation. To support the RPS COM user interface design, actually the FPD screen design, we developed a user interface style guide because the system designer could not properly deal with the many general human factors design guidelines. To develop the user interface style guide, various design guideline gatherings, a walk-though with a video recorder, guideline selection with respect to user interface design elements, determination of the properties of the design elements, discussion with the system designers, and a conversion of the properties into a screen design were carried out. This paper describes the process in detail and the findings in the course of the style guide development.

Anonymity plays an increasingly important role on social media. This is reflected by more and more applications enabling anonymous interactions. However, do social media users behave different when they are anonymous? In our research, we investigated social media services meant for solely anonymous use (Jodel) and for widely spread non-anonymous sharing of pictures and videos (Instagram). This study examines the impact of anonymity on the behavior of users on Jodel compared to their non-anonymous use of Instagram as well as the differences between the user types: producer, consumer, and participant. Our approach is based on the uses and gratifications theory (U>) by E. Katz, specifically on the sought gratifications (motivations) of self-presentation, information, socialization, and entertainment. Since Jodel is mostly used in Germany, we developed an online survey in German. The questions addressed the three different user types and were subdivided according to the four motivation categories of the U>. In total 664 test persons completed the questionnaire. The results show that anonymity indeed influences users' usage behavior depending on user types and different U> categories.

The objective of this research is not only making the planning guides regarding a small-scale residential remodeling but also examining closely the social roles of the interior design for the poor and the underprivileged class by analyzing the residential remodeling cases. The scope of research includes 40 remodeling houses free of charge which are broadcasted in the TV program 'Love House'. Taking in consideration the characteristics of users like parentless or single-parent families and families with disabled persons, this study uses the spatial approach, user's convenience approach and psychological problem solving approach, in terms of the methodology. In result of the analysis of their interior design, first of all, it is essential solving the problem of limited house space by comparison with the family number. Second, the universal design concept for the family with disabled persons(72.5%), old persons or children is strengthened guaranteeing privacy in small and old interior space. Third, the interior design is focused in increasing communication among family members, because mental and physical obstacle would obstruct accessibility among them. This research shows the importance of the interior design which makes wide social roles contributing to create "welfare society".

기존의 RBAC(Role Based Access Control) 모델들은 사용자간의 역할 위임이나 역할 분리를 운용하기에는 역부족이다. 이에 RBAC을 바탕으로 역할이나 권한을 다른 사용자에게 위임하는 모델인 RBDM(Roie Based Delegation Model)이 연구되고 있다. 반면에, 역할을 위임 받은자의 악의적인 남용을 막을 수 있는 방안이 필요하다. 본 논문은 역할의 위임으로 인하여 위임 받은자의 악의적인 도용을 막기 위한 모델로서 위임 역할에 대한 폐지 절차를 시간상으로 제한을 두고, 위임하는 역할에 대하여 원사용자의 권한을 그대로 유지함으로써 위임으로 인한 역할간 계층구조의 보안상 취약점을 보완하고자 한다. 즉, 역할을 위임하고자 할때에는 위임에 대한 유효 기간을 같이 부여하는 기법으로 위임된 역할의 사용 권한을 시간상으로 폐지할 수 있게 한다. 또한, 위임된 역할에 대해서는 원사용자의 역할에 대한 권한을 계속 보유할 수 있도록 함으로써 위임으로 인하여 역할에 대한 사용이 정당하지 않은 경우에는 언제든지 회수가 가능할 수 있게 하였다. 본 제안 기법인 T-RBDM (Time-out based RBDM)은 기존의 위임 모델인 RBDM0, RBDM1, PBDM과 비교 분석함으로 기존의 위임 모델에 비해 보안 측면에서 더 강인함을 보인다.

도서관 2.0 개념은 웹상에서 상호작용하는 웹 2.0의 개념에서 비롯되었다. 이런 측면에서 볼 때, 도서관 2.0은 웹2.0의 조합이고 가장 주목할만한 특징은 상호작용과 이용자 참여라 할 수 있다. 변화된 도서관 환경에서의 이용자 역할의 비중은 도서관 소장자료에 대한 그들의 태깅, 블로깅, 서평 등과 같은 기여로 점점 더 커져왔다. 이렇듯 이용자의 역할이 변화하면서 도서관 사서들의 책임 또한 이용자들이 만들어낸 정제되지 않은 정보원의 점검자 역할에까지 이르게 되었으며, 결국 정보의 생산자, 조직가, 제공자, 관리자 뿐만 아니라 조정자의 역할로 확장되게 된다. 본 연구에서는 디지털 도서관의 새로운 패러다임으로 인식되는 도서관 2.0과 그 발전에 대한 최근의 연구들을 살펴보고 도서관 2.0 측면에서의 사서의 확대된 역할로서 사서 2.0에 대해 논하였다.

By taking a bottom-up "library in the life of the user" perspective rather than a top-down "user in the life of the library" perspective, this paper uses anecdotal evidence from the past and near present to examine the multiple roles the U.S. public library plays and has played as public space in the everyday lives of its patrons. By harnessing "public sphere" theory discussed in Jurgen Habermas's THE STRUCTURAL TRANSFORMATION OF THE PUBLIC SPHERE (1989) and by the examining the rich literatures on civic life and institutions that have evolved from it, the author argues that Library and Information Studies discourse has to expand its scope to include research and analysis of "library as place" from a user's perspective if it hopes to develop a deeper understanding of what the public library does for means to members of the communities in which they reside.

본 논문의 목적은 온라인 게임에서 나타나는 사용자 생성 규칙의 양상 및 특징을 분석하고, 이를 통해 게임 내에서 플레이어의 정체성이 형성되는 방식을 밝히는 것이다. 이를 위해 유즈맵 시스템에서 기원한 온라인 게임 <리그 오브 레전드>를 연구 대상으로 채택하고, 규칙 이론을 바탕으로 사용자에 의해 만들어진 규칙의 양상을 분석하였다. 그 결과 게임 내에서 지배적으로 나타나는 규칙은 개발자가 만든 규칙이 아닌 사용자로부터의 창발적인 규칙에 있었다. 그리고 이러한 사용자 생성 규칙은 규칙 발견과 다수 사용자에 의한 선택의 과정을 거치면서 궁극적으로 시스템의 상태 변화까지 이끌어낸다. 본 논문에서의 사용자 생성 규칙에 관한 연구는 게임 내에서의 사용자 역할을 제고할 수 있도록 한다는 측면에서 의의를 가질 것으로 기대한다.

Home networking technology connects individual home appliances through a wired or wireless network and makes possible new functions that were impossible when they were used independently. However, the new functions must not simply be confusing arrays of functions that are possible to implement, but those absolutely necessary to the users. To develop innovative information appliances with such functions, scenarios were used and played guiding roles in suggesting new product ideas, making design mockups, and producing videos to show natural situations where the products would be used in home of the future. In the phase of suggesting new product ideas, user action scenarios in the home, generated by a team consisting of experts in the fields of cognitive engineering, user interface, computer science, cultural anthropology, interaction design, and product design, helped the team identify user needs and design factors necessary to fulfill those needs and suggest new product ideas from the design factors. In the phase of making design mockups, the procedures of using the products were described in the scenario format. Based on the scenarios the s쇼les and the user interfaces of them were designed. In the phase of producing videos, the interactions between the user and the product were embodied in the course of professional writers'arranging the scenarios of using the products for the scripts of the videos. Videos were produced to show the actual situations where the design mockups would be used in home of the future and the dynamic aspects of interaction design.

RBAC(Role Based Access Control) has the advantage that reflects the real world because it presents a basic access control model based on user's role in organizations or governments. But in RBAC model, the privileges of the senior roles in these hierarchies are inherited from those of the junior roles, so RBAC model has the privileges problem that he senior are given more privileges than they need. That is, it tends to infringe the Principle of Least Privilege. On the other hand, if we give some excessive constraints on the RBAC model without scrupulous care, it may be meaningless property of role hierarchies. Furthermore, such complicated constraints make it more difficult to mange resources and roles in huge enterprise environments. The purpose of this paper is to solve the problems of role hierarchies such as inefficient role managements and abuse of privileges by using newly presented the backward tag pointer path expression in the inheritance of privileges.

This article is a part of a doctoral research project on developing the faculty-librarian collaboration model to support learning and research at Vietnamese universities. The findings of this study have crucial significance in drawing a broader view of the importance of faculty-librarian collaboration and the roles of such collaborators at Vietnamese universities. Qualitative methodology was used to formulate related topics and achieve these research objectives. Semi-structured interviews were carried out at four universities in Vietnam with three key informants, including the faculty, librarian, and administrators (dean/vice dean of faculty, director/deputy director of the library). From March to April 2019, researchers conducted 29 interviews with three participant groups. The striking results of this research showed that the faculty and librarians realized the significance of a collaborative relationship and expect that Vietnamese universities will design and deploy a model to boost the effectiveness of this collaboration. Besides this, the study found that the collaborators play certain important roles within the collaborative relationship, for instance, that of reference, coordinator, special lecturer, cooperator, and information user.
