In this paper, we present POSSDM (POSTECH Situation-Based Dialogue Manager) for a spoken dialogue system using a new example and situation-based dialogue management technique for effective generation of appropriate system responses. Spoken dialogue system should generate cooperative responses to smoothly control dialogue flow with the users. We introduce a new dialogue management technique incorporating dialogue examples and situation-based rules for EPG (Electronic Program Guide) domain. For the system response inference, we automatically construct and index a dialogue example database from dialogue corpus, and the best dialogue example is retrieved for a proper system response with the query from a dialogue situation including a current user utterance, dialogue act, and discourse history. When dialogue corpus is not enough to cover the domain, we also apply manually constructed situation-based rules mainly for meta-level dialogue management.

This paper describes the development of a pc-based machinery space simulator for training and research, relevant to STCW-95. The detailed mathematical modelling process for the actual machinery is discussed and a method to perform effective education and training for the simulator is suggested. The method includes scenario, procedure, exercise and evaluation. The procedure guides the trainee through a sequence of steps designed to meet a specific goal, showing the trainee what must be done and explaining why The exercise enhances understanding for efficient engine management and enable user to perform research for the machinery. The evaluation shows exercise results and feeds back to instructor how to guide the under-performed trainee.

In this Study, as the structure of IT module for smart phone display becomes thin to catch up with slim product trend, the reliability of display module is on the rise as a issue for product design. Especially, almost part of cellular phone should undergo thermal dissipation test. thus many manufacturers have considered design guide line using CAE and simulation for more effective usage of limited resources on the market. This test simulates the case when cellular phone slips through user's fingers while he is talking on the phone. This paper studies a thermal simulation of display module in smart phone. This design for reliability improvements are suggested on the basis of the results of FVM Analysis and display of IT module and smart phone design.

디지털 방송이 본격적으로 시작되고 각 가정에 디지털 TV의 보급이 많이 이루어짐에 따라 사용자들이 시청할 수 있는 채널 및 프로그램의 수는 기존의 공중파 환경과 비교하여 폭발적으로 증가하였다. 채널의 수가 수백 개로 늘어나기 때문에 사용자가 자신이 원하는 프로그램을 찾기 위해서는 리모콘을 누르거나 방송 편성표를 검색하는 것과 같은 많은 시간과 노력을 필요하다. 따라서 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서는 사용자의 프로파일과 선호도 정보를 분석하여 사용자의 취향에 적합한 프로그램을 추천해줄 수 있는 방법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 수백 개의 채널에서 방송되는 프로그램 및 사용자의 선호도 정보를 분석하여 사용자가 원하는 프로그램을 추천해주고 시청 히스토리를 분석하여 사용자 모델을 동적으로 갱신하는 기법을 제안한다.

본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 대학도서관 정보망 환경상에서 구현될 정보시스템의 이론적인 틀을 구성한 다음 정보시스템 모형의 일부 기능을 멀티미디어 저작 도구를 가지고 실제 구현해 보았다. 시스템 모형은 JANUS Virtual Library, The Book House등과 같은 실제 시스템들을 기초로하여 구성하였고 시스템 구현에 사용된 지식베이스는 참고사서들과의 면담을 통해 얻은 데이터를 이용하여 구축하였다. 구현된 시스템은 참고 전문가시스템, 학술지 브라우징, 멀티미디어 데이타베이스, 온라인 열람목록, 외부 데이타베이스, 이용 안내의 6개의 모듈로 구성된다. 결론에서는 멀티미디어 대학도서관 정보망을 구현하기 위해서 해겨해야 할 문제점들을 제시하였다.

This study reviews several innovative electronic reference services that will be transformed in the age of the virtual library. This study focused on reference service via E-mail and electronic bulletin board which is regarded as the most important service in a variety of electronic reference services. Through E-mail and the electronic bulletin board, the user submits questions and the librarian responds with the answer. Though interest in using E-mail and electronic bulletin board as a basis for reference service has grown considerably in recent years, it is still in its infancy in Korea. Thus the purpose of this study is to propose a model electronic reference service system using E-mail and the electronic bulletin board for university libraries in Korea. This system consists of the following modules: electronic reference services policy, open reference service via electronic bulletin board, closed reference service via E-mail, and FAQ. This system is meant to be a guide for those considering implementing such a service.

본 논문에서는 일반 도로 안내 지도로부터 도로 영역들을 자동으로 추출하는 방법에 대해 제안하였다. 기본 추출 방법은〔1〕에서 제안한 선추적 방법을 이용하되 자동으로시작점을 선택할 수 있도록 함으로써 빈번한 사용자의 개입 없이 전체 도로 영역을 추출할수 있도록 하였다. 이 때 도로 종류(고속국도, 일반국도. 지방도 등)별로 색상을 분류하고 각색상에 대한 군집도를 분석하여 정리하여 클러스터를 생성함으로써 자동으로 시작점 선택이가능하도록 하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 방법은 다양한 칼라지도에 적용하여 실험함으로써그 타당성을 검증하였다.

The Common Criteria (CC) philosophy is to provide assurance based upon an evaluation of the IT product or system that is to be trusted. Evaluation has been the traditional means of providing assurance. It is essential that not only the customer' srequirements for software functionality should be satisfied but also the security requirements imposed on the software development should be effectively analyzed and implemented in contributing to the security objectives of customer's requirements. Unless suitable requirements are established at the start of the software development process, the resulting end product, however well engineered, may not meet the objectives of its anticipated consumers. By the security evaluation, customer can sure about the quality of the products or systems they will buy and operate. In this paper, we propose a selection guide for If products by showing relationship between security engineering and security evaluation and make help user and customer select appropriate products or system.

Intelligent Wearable Module is intelligent system that arises when a human is part of the feedback loop of a computational process like a certain control system. Applied system is mobile robot. This paper represents the mobile robot control system remote controlled by Intelligent Wearable Module. So far, owing to the development of internet technologies, lots of remote control methods through internet have been proposed. To control a mobile robot through internet and guide it under unknown environment, We propose a control method activated by Intelligent Wearable Module. In a proposed system, PDA acts as a user interface to communicate with notebook as a controller of the mobile robot system using TCP/IP protocol, and the notebook controls the mobile robot system. Tlle information about the direction and velocity of the mobile robot feedbacks to the PDA and the PDA send new control method produced from the fuzzy inference engine.

This Paper provides perceptual metrics for video quality based on properties of human visual system, and audio quality based on human audition. All metrics work without reference signals, allowing non-intrusive, in-service measurements. A simple and easy-to-learn user interface displays the metrics and saves them in popular file formats like CSV. In this paper, proposed method was able to various and corrective measurement for the multimedia service video quality. As that it was able to application to set up service guide line and the methode of measurement and system for the set up standardization of the high quality video service.
