The development of efficient multimodal interfaces and fusion algorithms requires knowledge of usage patterns that show how people use multiple modalities. We analyzed multimodal usage patterns for TV-guide application scenarios (or tasks). In order to collect usage patterns, we implemented a multimodal usage pattern collection system having two input modalities: speech and touch-gesture. Fifty-four subjects participated in our study. Analysis of the collected usage patterns shows a positive correlation between the task type and multimodal usage patterns. In addition, we analyzed the timing between speech-utterances and their corresponding touch-gestures that shows the touch-gesture occurring time interval relative to the duration of speech utterance. We believe that, for developing efficient multimodal fusion algorithms on an application, the multimodal usage pattern analysis for the given application, similar to our work for TV guide application, have to be done in advance.
As a pre-step research to make land-use planning in the region level, this study aims to analyze some probability pattern representing transition probabilities from farmland to others using the sequential detailed digital land-use maps. Kinki and Chubu regions of Japan, which have Osaka and Nagoya cities as their center places respectively, were selected as test regions in this study. The 10m grid land-use maps for four time series at every 5 year from 1977 to 1992 were used. In this study, the regions were divided into three sub-areas 10km, 20km, and 30km according to distance from center cities, respectively. The correlation coefficient (CC) between sub-areas with same distance in the two regions was calculated to analyze whether or not the two regions have common points in the pattern of land-use conversion probability from farmland to other types. The probability distribution of the converted areas which were moved to the urbanized area (residential, commercial, industrial, road, park and public facility areas) was about $40{\sim}70%$ for both all periods and sub-areas. According to distance from city centers, the probability moved to the urbanized area was about 60% at 10km area, and 40% at the 30km area, which means that the values we decreased gradually, while in the case moved to the forest and the etc areas, the values were increased slightly. The CC analysis from the paddy field and the dry field to the others separately showed that there is high correlation in the probability pattern between the two regions.

In this paper, we compared and analyzed the power load patterns of dormitory buildings and office buildings to use them as basic data (demand analysis and capacity design) for the design and operation of microgrids for multi-use facilities, and the following conclusions were got. During the daytime on regular weekdays, the power consumption load pattern of office buildings was relatively large at 264.0~332.3 kWh, and during the evening hours, the power consumption load pattern of dormitory buildings was relatively large at 233.0~258.3 kWh. In the case of vacation, during the daytime on weekdays, the power consumption load pattern of office buildings was relatively large at 279.1~407.4 kWh, and in the evening, the power consumption load pattern of dormitory buildings was relatively high at 280.1~394.1 kWh. During the daytime on regular weekends, the power consumption of dormitory-type buildings was relatively high at 133.5~201.6 kWh, and it was found that the power consumption of dormitory-type buildings appeared relatively high at 187.5~252.1 kWh. During a vacation in the daytime on weekends, the power consumption of dormitory-type buildings was found to be 186.5 kWh~ and 218.6 kWh. The increase in power consumption during a vacation (December-February) compared to normal (April-June) was thought to be due to an increase in electricity demand, and the reason for the higher power consumption in dormitory buildings during the vacation was due to reduced working hours in office buildings.
In recent years, there has been a proliferation of commercial uses in the area where Gentrification occurs. In order to cope with such a diffusion phenomenon, it is necessary to derive the diffusion area accurately. Gentrification has a feature that occurs locally in a short time. Therefore, this study used the space-time pattern analysis to derive the diffusion area of commercial uses in Bukchon, a typical gentrified area in Seoul. Among the space-time pattern analysis, space time permutation statistics used in this study can derive the convergence phenomenon of time and space in a particular case with only the location information. The results confirmed that there has been three proliferation area in Bukchon, one started in 2007, other in 2013 and the other in 2014. In the earliest area, independent shops were the most popular, and the majority of them were restaurants. However in latter areas, there has been more chain stores and clothing stores than earlier area. The findings of this study indicate that space time pattern analysis can be used as a tool to analyze the proliferation by gentrification because it can derive accurate location and timing of the diffusion.

In sewing, it is related to the use of latest sewing techniques and the finish using silicon or rubber band. In material, it is related to the use of high performance fabrics and the proper arrangement of these. In detail, it is related to the convenient detail, the storage detail, the adjustable detail, and the body protection detail.
Until now, several comparative approaches were developed within the studies of Korean, Chinese, and Japanese traditional housings. In those studies, however, each space in the traditional houses was only treated in individual and fragmentary manners, and they lacked the interpretation of the topological attribute of each space within a holistic structure organized by unit spaces, and of the cultural-behavioral meaning of them within a holistic space-use pattern of the housing. The topological attribute and behavioral meaning can be analyzed and interpreted with the quantitative spatial analysis method such as Space Syntax. This study aims to analyze the traditional housings in Korea, China and Japan in the holistic aspect of spatial structure using Space Syntax, and to compare the analysis results with relating the structural attributes to the space-use pattern. In this study, the 'Banga' in Chosun era, the 'Siheyuan' in Ming-Ching era, and the 'Shoinzukuri' in Edo era were selected as the analysis subjects. The integration indices were calculated from the convex maps representing the subjects, and the common and different attributes of the three subjects were defined through comparative analyses.
Background: Little is known about how chemical water quality is associated with ecological stream health in relation to landuse patterns in a watershed. We evaluated spatial characteristics of water quality characteristics and the ecological health of Dongjin-River basin, Korea in relation to regional landuse pattern. The ecological health was assessed by the multi-metric model of Index of Biological Integrity (IBI), and the water chemistry data were compared with values obtained from the health model. Results: Nutrient and organic matter pollution in Dongjin-River basin, Korea was influenced by land use pattern and the major point sources, so nutrients of TN and TP increased abruptly in Site 4 (Jeongeup Stream), which is directly influenced by wastewater treatment plants along with values of electric conductivity (EC), bacterial number, and sestonic chlorophyll-a. Similar results are shown in the downstream (S7) of Dongjin River. The degradation of chemical water quality in the downstream resulted in greater impairment of the ecological health, and these were also closely associated with the landuse pattern. Forest region had low nutrients (N, P), organic matter, and ionic content (as the EC), whereas urban and agricultural regions had opposite in the parameters. Linear regression analysis of the landuse (arable land; $A_L$) on chemicals indicated that values of $A_L$ had positive linear relations with TP ($R^2=0.643$, p < 0.01), TN ($R^2=0.502$, p < 0.05), BOD ($R^2=0.739$, p < 0.01), and suspended solids (SS; ($R^2=0.866$, p < 0.01), and a negative relation with TDN:TDP ratios ($R^2=0.719$, p < 0.01). Conclusions: Chemical factors were closely associated with land use pattern in the watershed, and these factors influenced the ecological health, based on the multimetric fish IBI model. Overall, the impairments of water chemistry and the ecological health in Dongjin-River basin were mainly attributes to point-sources and land-use patterns.
Because of the low power and low rate of a sensor network, outlier is frequently occurred in the time series data of sensor network. In this paper, we suggest periodic pattern analysis that is applied to the time series data of sensor network and predict outlier that exist in the time series data of sensor network. A periodic pattern is minimum period of time in which trend of values in data is appeared continuous and repeated. In this paper, a quantization and smoothing is applied to the time series data in order to analyze the periodic pattern and the fluctuation of each adjacent value in the smoothed data is measured to be modified to a simple data. Then, the periodic pattern is abstracted from the modified simple data, and the time series data is restructured according to the periods to produce periodic pattern data. In the experiment, the machine learning is applied to the periodic pattern data to predict outlier to see the results. The characteristics of analysis of the periodic pattern in this paper is not analyzing the periods according to the size of value of data but to analyze time periods according to the fluctuation of the value of data. Therefore analysis of periodic pattern is robust to outlier. Also it is possible to express values of time attribute as values in time period by restructuring the time series data into periodic pattern. Thus, it is possible to use time attribute even in the general machine learning algorithm in which the time series data is not possible to be learned.

The Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry(ESPI) has been applied to many technical problems such as deformation and displacement measurement, strain visualization and surface roughness monitoring. Composite materials have various complicated characteristics depending on the ply materials, ply orientations, ply stacking sequences and boundary conditions. Therefore, it is difficult to analyze composite material. For efficient use of composit materials in engineering applications, the dynamic behavior such as, natural frequencies and modal patterns should be identified. This studying presents FEM results for the free vibration of symmetrically laminated composite as [30/-30/90] $_{s}$. The natural frequencies of laminated composite rectangular plates having the boundary condition(:2-edge clamped) are experimentally obtained. In order to demonstrate the validity of the experiment,FEM analysis using ANSYS was performed and natural frequencies experimentally obtained is compared with calculated by FEM analysis. The results obtained from both experiment and FEM analysis show a good agreement.t.
In this study one aspect of consumer behavior in household equipment utilization was investigated the pattern, frequency, rate of washer use and their relation to the following factors a) Washer related factors : extent of the presence of desired characteristics, the evaluation of washer's intrinsic features and related household facilities. b) Psycho-social factors : attitude of energy conservation, preference & ability to wash by hand, standard of washing of the respondent homemaker. c) Socio-demographic factors : age, education level and employment status of homemaker, house-hold income, the presence of children under seven years, size of family, the presence of a paid help. The subjects of this study were 286 homemakers with washer in Seoul. Analysis methods were used to fuequency, one-way ANOVA, Gamma test, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, t-test and multiple regression of SPSS program. The major findings are the following; 1) The pattern, frequency, rate of washe use appeared various in every household. 2) Extent of the presence of desired characteristics was very low and respondents evaluated their washer's intrinsic features moderate. 3) The pattern of washer use was affected by the evaluation of washer's intrinsic features, preference & ability to wash by hand, wife's employment and household income. The frequency of washer use was affected by family size and preference & ability to wash by hand. The rate of washer use was affected by extent of the presence of desired characteristics, the evaluation of washer's intrinsic features and preference & ability to wash by hand. Therefore, washing by hand is major substitute for washer. If more desired characteristics are added to washer, intrinsic features are improved, and maintenance costs are reduced or household income is raised, every houshold with washer will use washer more than washing by hand in washing ask so that it may gain more utility from washer.
