  • In accordance with the development of various convergence devices, cameras are being used in many types of the systems such as security system, driver assistance device and so on, and a lot of people are exposed to these system. Therefore the system should be able to recognize the human behavior and support some useful functions with the information that is obtained from detected human behavior. In this paper we use a machine learning approach based on 2D image and propose the human behavior pattern recognition methods. The proposed methods can provide valuable information to support some useful function to user based on the recognized human behavior. First proposed one is "phone call behavior" recognition. If a camera of the black box, which is focused on driver in a car, recognize phone call pose, it can give a warning to driver for safe driving. The second one is "looking ahead" recognition for driving safety where we propose the decision rule and method to decide whether the driver is looking ahead or not. This paper also shows usefulness of proposed recognition methods with some experiment results in real time.

  • Steganography is being used as a means of secret communication for crimes that threaten national security such as terrorism and espionage. With the development of computers, steganography technologies develop and criminals produce and use their own programs. However, the research for steganography is not active because detailed information on national security cases is not disclosed. The development of investigation technologies and the responses of criminal law are insufficient. Therefore, in this paper, the detection and decoding process was examined for steganography investigation, and the method was analyzed for 'the spy case of Pastor Kim', who was convicted by the Supreme Court. Multiple security devices were prepared using symmetric steganography using the pre-promised stego key. Furthermore, the three criminal legal issues: (1) the relevance issue, (2) the right to participate, and (3) the public trial issue a countermeasure were considered in national security cases. Through this paper, we hope that the investigative agency will develop analysis techniques for steganography.

  • Currently, with the proliferation of digital devices, the significance of handwritten texts in daily lives is gradually diminishing. As the use of keyboards and touch screens increase, a decline in Korean handwriting quality is being observed across a broad spectrum of Korean documents, from young students to adults. However, Korean handwriting still remains necessary for many documentations, as it retains individual unique features while ensuring readability. To this end, this paper aims to implement an application designed to improve and correct the quality of handwritten Korean script The implemented application utilizes the CRAFT (Character-Region Awareness For Text Detection) model for handwriting area detection and employs the VGG-Feature-Extraction as a deep learning model for learning features of the handwritten script. Simultaneously, the application presents the user's handwritten Korean script's reliability on a syllable-by-syllable basis as a recognition rate and also suggests the most similar fonts among candidate fonts. Furthermore, through various experiments, it can be confirmed that the proposed application provides an excellent recognition rate comparable to conventional commercial character recognition OCR systems.

  • The smartphone allows learners to be involved in learning environments in which students actively study from anywhere and at anytime. Because learners can keep engaged in the environment where they can access to the internet, they can efficiently study in transit using various features and functions of smartphone. Smart learning is a unique learning based on mobility and functions of mobile digital devices including searching and sharing information and using various applications. For the effective use of smartphones in e-learning systems, the contents and learning management systems should be designed to meet effective teaching and learning principles, such as interactivity and collaborations. In smart learning, learning contents for effective learning need to be integrated with typical functions of smartphones and to develop small pieces of learning contents according to learning topics. In the case of learning management systems, it should reflect understanding of learners' environment using a PA agent program and provide personalized learning services.

  • This paper presents the design of a video encoder for the device of need TV-OUT function. The designed video encoder satisfies the standard conditions of International Telecommunication Union-Radiocommunication (ITU-R) BT.470. ITU-R BT.470 can be classified as NTSC, PAL or SECAM. NTSC and PAL use Amplitude Modulation (AM) to transmit color difference signals and SECAM uses Frequency Modulation (FM). SECAM must have an antic-cloche filter but the filter recommended by ITU-R BT.470 is not easy to design due to sharpness of the frequency response. So formerly the filter was designed as analog. This paper proposes that the filter is designed as digital and the special quality of the filter is transformed easy to design. And the modulation method is modified to be identical with the result required at standard. The encoder can control power consumption by output mode to apply mobile phone, mobile devices, etc. The proposed encoder is experimentally demonstrated with ALTERA FPGA APEX20KE EP20K1000EBC652-3 device and SAMSUNG LCD-TV.

  • SLAM(Simultaneous localization and mapping) and AI(Artificial intelligence) have been active research areas in robotics for two decades. In particular, localization is one of the most important issues in mobile robot research. Until now expensive sensors like a laser sensor have been used for the mobile robot's localization. Currently, as the RFID reader devices like antennas and RFID tags become increasingly smaller and cheaper, the proliferation of RFID technology is advancing rapidly. So, in this paper, the smart floor using passive RFID tags is proposed and, passive RFID tags are mainly used to identify the mobile robot's location on the smart floor. We discuss a number of challenges related to this approach, such as RFID tag distribution (density and structure), typing and clustering. In the smart floor using RFID tags, because the reader just can senses whether a RFID tag is in its sensing area, the localization error occurs as much as the sensing area of the RFID reader. And, until now, there is no study to estimate the pose of mobile robot using RFID tags. So, in this paper, two algorithms are suggested to. We use the Markov localization algorithm to reduce the location(X,Y) error and the Kalman Filter algorithm to estimate the pose(q) of a mobile robot. We applied these algorithms in our experiment with our personal robot CMR-P3. And we show the possibility of our probability approach using the cheap sensors like odometers and RFID tags for the mobile robot's localization on the smart floor.

  • As a surveying standard of a nation, the Korean geodetic control points such as triangulation points and benchmarks require continuous and effective management toward a spatially enabled society. As the developments of information technologies, use of mobile devices like PDA (personal digital assistant) has been increasing and the Web 2.0 environment became an important part of GIS. In this context, the management systems for national geodetic control points should be upgraded in accordance with the current trend, particularly for more interactive user-interface on the Web 2.0. This paper describes the framework design and prototype implementation of a Web 2.0 GIS application for the management of Korean geodetic control points. Our system enables a real-time update of the control point information and provides aerial photos on vector maps using Ajax(Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) techniques.

  • Gantry loader which is also called as gantry robot is a kind of cartesian coordinate robot with two or more linear motions. A conventional gantry system has cableveyor for protecting power and signal cables, but the use of cableveyor makes a delay of work due to frequent repairing for its aging. This study reports that a wireless gantry loader is able to be operated without a power line for power transmission or a signal cable for motion control. The wireless gantry loader enables a convenient maintenance and a stable productivity by the reduction of wire broken from fatigue. The developed loader system is controlled by PC-based motion controller and is communicated by wireless LAN devices. The line from a power source to the loader system was substituted by attaching trolley bar on the traveling beam. The loader system was designed to be moved with high speed and high repeatability, and the motion was observed continuously by monitoring system in the PC-based controller. The maximum speed and the repeatability for the transferring and loading axes are 200 m/min, 60 mm and 100 m/min, 40 mm respectively.
