The ICT (information and communication technology) paradigm shift, including the burgeoning use of mobile, SNS, and smart devices, has resulted in an explosion of data along with lifestyle changes. We have thus arrived at the age of big data. In the meantime, a number of difficulties have arisen in terms of cost or on the technical side with respect to the use of large quantities of data. However, big data has begun to receive attention with the advent of efficient big data technologies such as Hadoop. In this paper, we discuss the patent analysis of big data platform technology research and development in major countries. Especially, we analyzed 2,568 patent applications and registered patents in four countries on December 2010.

Several efforts to replace the use of existing fossil energy resources have already been made around the world. As a result, a new industry of renewable energy has been created, and efficient energy distribution and storage has been promoted intensively. Among the newly explored renewable energy sources, the most widely used one is solar energy generation, which has a high market potential. An energy storage system (ESS) is a system as required. In this paper, the design and implementation of an ESS for the efficient use of power in stand-alone street lights is presented. In current ESS applied to stand-alone street lights, either 12V~24V DC (from solar power) or 110V~220V AC (from commercial power) is used to recharge power in systems with lithium batteries. In this study, an ESS that can support both solar power and commercial power was designed and implemented; it can also perform emergency recharge of portable devices from solar powered street lights. This system can maximize the scalability of ESSes using lithium batteries with efficient energy conversion, with the advantage of being an eco-friendly technology. In a ripple effect, it can also be applied to smart grids, electric vehicles, and new, renewable storage markets where energy storage technology is required.

Recently, with the diversification of media services and the development of smart devices, users have more opportunities to use digital content, such as movies, dramas, and music; consequently, the size of the copyright market expands simultaneously. However, there are piracy sites that generate revenue by illegal use of copyrighted works. This has led to losses for copyright holders, and the scale of copyrighted works infringed due to the ever-increasing number of piracy sites has increased. To prevent this, government agencies respond to copyright infringement by monitoring piracy sites using online monitoring and countermeasure strategies for infringement. However, the detection and blocking process consumes a significant amount of time when compared to the rate of generating new piracy sites. Hence, online monitoring is less effective. Additionally, given that piracy sites are sophisticated and refined in the same way as legitimate sites, it is necessary to accurately distinguish and block a site that is involved in copyright infringement. Therefore, in this study, we analyze features of piracy sites and based on this analysis, we propose an intelligent detection technique for piracy sites that automatically classifies and detects whether a site is involved in infringement.

This paper presents novel ignition method for automotive 35W metal halide discharge lamp electronic ballast. At this study, the novel method of ignition is developed to reduce costs and size of the ballast. By use of the novel method, the voltage needed in ignition is decreased, which result in use of the lower voltage rating power devices compared with conventional method and product compactness was achieved by deleting a circuit generating negative voltage needed in ignition at an conventional circuit. In terms of luminosity, color rendering, light efficiency(lm/W) and lifespan, the metal halide lamp is superior to, but unlike halogen lamp, it have more complicated transient characteristics to reach its steady state than the conventional halogen lamp. Therefore, in this paper, the electronic ballast was designed such that the metal halide lamp could be optimized for the automotive, by applying a method of microcontroller-based digital control. The results of the proposed system is verified through various experiment results.

Mobile & Telecommunication industry have been improved in recent years, many different and different shape devices have been introduced and relative services also consistently have been developed as well. Mobile users also demand new service and diverse contents different from vice oriented services and its quality improvement. Recently Smartphone has shown up and changed Mobile & Telecommunication industry and lead activating the industry. Particularly Smartphone users enjoy many different functions and service provided by Application Market. Actually this Application Market would lead improving Mobile& Telecommunication industry. This fact is worthy of notice. Therefore This study focus on Application Market and analyse what determinants affect user's intention to use Application Market. Mainly e-Servqual and TAM model are applied and research model was established and empirically tested. As a result information, transaction and design quality significantly effect on user's intention and perceived usefulness and easy of use also significantly more effect on user's intention. There will be several implications to establish strategy for application market based on this results.
Given the potential of mobile applications to create new learning opportunities beyond the prevalent use of digital textbooks and Internet lectures, this study aims to derive types and themes of mobile application content that can be effectively integrated with the school curricula. Twenty primary school teachers participated in this study that examines teachers' perceptions about the advantages and disadvantages of printed and digital textbooks' modality, the advantages and disadvantages of mobile learning, and the themes relevant to develop mobile applications. Findings indicate that it is necessary to develop activity-centered applications for vertical use rather than theme-centered applications for horizontal use. In addition, while most ideas derived from teachers center on multimedia access, there was lack of ideas that leverage the affordances of mobile devices for collaborative interaction and location-awareness. Lastly, to promote the diffusion of mobile learning in school environments, this study suggests the need to overcome teachers' epistemology that perceives mobilization against inquiry activities.
Small computer systems such as mobile devices adopt NAND flash memories as their storage media. However, DBMS running on such systems are optimized to hard disks. When small computer systems use DBMS they usually use additional system layer, like FTL, that emulates flash memories as normal hard disks and DBMS cannot control flash memories directly. In this paper, we propose unified storage system that DBMS controls flash memories directly. We implemented the system in a real environment and proved the proposed system outperforms legacy systems.

This study studied scoliosis, one of the most common modern diseases caused by lifestyle patterns of office workers sitting in front of computers all day and modern people who use smart phones frequently. Scoliosis is a typical complication that takes more than 80% of the nation's total population at least once. X-ray are used to test for these complications. X-ray, a non-destructive testing method that allows scoliosis to be easily performed and filmed in various areas such as the chest, abdomen and bone without contrast agents or other instruments. We uses NI DAQ to miniaturize digital X-ray imaging devices and image intensifier in self-shielding housing with Vision Assistant for drawing lines to the top and the bottom of the spine to acquire angles, i.e. curvature in real-time. In this way, the research was conducted to see scoliosis patients and their condition easily and to help rapid treatment for solving the problem of posture correction in modern people.

Smart-healthcare service is a health medical service which aims to provide an active consumer-directed service for both wellness and preventative health management upon the basis of rapid diffuse of smartphone which has been occurring recently. On this, this paper suggests a tele auscultation medicine smart-healthcare system based on digital stethoscope which is able through the use of the smart phone which is easy to approach anywhere. The suggested system consists of the digital stethoscope for patient's self auscultation and smart phone, the PC for doctor's examination, and the web server to connect those devices. A telemedicine can be performed between a doctor and a patient by the program which exchanges examine data and auscultation data among the devices. To sum up, by the system suggested in this paper, an easily and conveniently usable health medical service on an everyday basis could be provided without spatial and temporal limits.
