The objective of this research is to identify the factors affecting the quality perception of consumer about the private brand and to investigate how the monetary utility of the private brand affects the consumer's preference. The main finding can be summarized in three points. The consumer's usage experience with PB have a positive but store image has no significant effect on the quality perception of PB. The perceived quality and monetary utility of PB has a significant effect on the quality perception while the perceived quality has stronger effect. The competitiveness of the national brand in the same store, post-usage attitude, the perceived quality, and perceived value have significant effect on the preference toward PB but monetary utility does not. The perceived effect has the strongest effect. This result suggests that even the value-seeking consumers prefer PB only when the perceived quality exceeds a certain limits. This study provides the strategic implications for retail managers and theoretical implication for the researcher studying PB.

In this study, a novel and flexible recommender system was developed, based on product taxonomy and usage patterns of users. The proposed system consists of the following four steps : (i) estimation of the product-preference matrix, (ii) construction of the product-preference matrix, (iii) estimation of the popularity and similarity levels for sought-after products, and (iv) recommendation of a products for the user. The product-preference matrix for each user is estimated through a linear combination of clicks, basket placements, and purchase statuses. Then the preference matrix of a particular genre is constructed by computing the ratios of the number of clicks, basket placements, and purchases of a product with respect to the total. The popularity and similarity levels of a user's clicked product are estimated with an entropy index. Based on this information, collaborative and content-based filtering is used to recommend a product to the user. To assess the effectiveness of the proposed approach, an empirical study was conducted by constructing an experimental e-commerce site. Our results clearly showed that the proposed hybrid method is superior to conventional methods.
This study investigated the usage of child hospital gowns to suggest a gown design suitable for child inpatients in Korea. The satisfaction on size suitability and design of child hospital gowns was surveyed among 219 child inpatients in 20 general hospitals. The most hospitals provided 2 to 4 different size pajamas for child inpatients. However, 53% of the subjects chose not to wear the uniform pants that the hospital provided and 28% did not wear the shirts. The reasons most often given for rejecting to wear the uniforms were unsuitable size (42.1%) and difficulty in taking on and off (26.2%). The dissatisfactory parts of hospital gowns were pants length (27.9%), sleeve length (19.6%), pants waist closure (16.9%), and neckline opening (11.9%). The preference in gown design for child inpatients varied by age (p〈0.5) and the styles that they had worn (p〈0.5). Significant differences for style preference were found in the opening of shirts or pants, pants waist closure type, and pants length. These results suggest that the hospital gowns for child inpatients need to reflect the wide diversity in their body size and preference in style.
The purpose of this study was 1) to examine the usage of mobile internet by cell phone or palm pilot, etc., 2) to analyze mobile users' lifestyles, 3) to examine preferred fashion services according to users' lifestyles and 4) to investigate service satisfaction and preference with the mobile internet. 193 university students in Seoul were randomly selected as subject. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics (i.e., percentage, frequency), factor analysis, cluster analysis and ANOVA. The results of the study were as follows: first, most mobile users spent 10 min a day for using the mobile internet (i.e., short message service) mainly in transportation vehicles. Secondly, five factors in the mobile users' lifestyle were named as: 'surfer', 'absorber', 'expert', 'accepter' and 'enthusiast'. Thirdly, two factors in the preferences of fashion service on mobile internet were 'customized information service' and 'ordinary information service'. Fourthly, according to the internet lifestyle, mobile users were classified into three groups: 'mania group', 'follower group', and 'veteran group'. The mania group was the highest group in mobile service satisfaction and service preference. Marketing implications are discussed for the successful mobile business in clothing and textile industry.
Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate which decision factors continue to use the service based on the online simple payment service. In this study, we will examine how to activate the service from the continuing factors through the dual-model theory consisting of personal dedication and constraint dedication which are frequently used in relation marketing. Design/methodology/approach In this study, we investigated the activation of online simple settlement service using factors affecting the preference of the simple payment service based on the dual-model of dedication-based mechanism and constraint-based mechanism. Findings This study confirmed that customer satisfaction and convenience under the dedication -based mechanism were found to be linked to the preference of the simple payment service. Switching cost under the constraint - based mechanism showed that the customer had no binding ability to continue using the service of the current provider. Likewise, preference was found to have a direct effect on the actual frequency of use of the simple payment service, the number of uses compared to the total number of online payments, and willingness to use more.
We conducted this study to compare the awareness and attitude of Busan housewives about consuming marine products. The survey was conducted from April 10 to May 31, 2019 by using a questionnaire. The degree of preference of seafood was higher among individuals in their 40s than those in the other age groups. Among the women in their 30s, 40s, 50s and 70s, the reason for liking seafood was 'taste', and for those in their 60s it was 'nutrition'. Overall the most common reason for disliking seafood was the 'fishy smell (37.4%)'. Conception degree of nutritive value of seafood was higher among individuals in their 30s and 40s than that for those individuals in their 50s, 60s and 70s. As for the price of seafood, the wives over 40s thought seafood was more expensive than did those wives in their 30s. The younger the individuals were, the lower was the perceived degree of safety was 49.8% of the subjects reported that the main concern for purchase was 'freshness'. The perceived degree of safety for imported seafood was better for the wives in their 60s and 70s than that for those wives in their 30s, 40s and 50s. The confidence level for local Korean seafood was higher for the wives in their 60s than that for the wives in their 50s. The degree of preference for seafood was moderate overall, except for Jellyfish. Age was positively correlated with conception for safety and dietary attitude (P<0.01), whereas age was negatively correlated with monthly food expenditure, nutrition knowledge and intake requirements (P<0.01). Preference for seafood was positively correlated with conception for safety (P<0.05), nutrition knowledge (P<0.05), dietary attitude (P<0.01), awareness for nutritive value (P<0.01) and intake requirements (P<0.01). Laws and regulations should be reinforced in order to promote eating more seafood and periodic research to determine the actual amount of consumed seafood and people's preferences should be conducted.

Fifth, married daughters' usage level of home equipments was significantly affected by mother's birth order, mother's education, mother's occupation (managerialㆍprofessional), daughter's birth order, daughter's education, and daughter's monthly income. Sixth, Mother related variables had greater power than daughter related ones in explaining daughters' values and preference for household work value and preferences and usage of home equipments. In conclusion, married daughter's consciousness and performance of household work were significantly influenced by their mothers. It was especially so in daughter's usage level of hoe equipments. Accordingly, the results of this study support the existence of generational transmission of household work from mothers to their married daughters with regard to its consciousness and performance.
