  • Global Navagation Satellite System(GNSS) is divided into Local Area Differential GNSS and Wide Area Differential GNSS. Wide Area DGNSS has more complicated structure and massage type. And transfer rate is limited, so efficient message scheduling algorithm is needed to guarantee user's accuracy and integrity. There are about 30 message types in Wide Area DGNSS. Each message type has different update interval. In this paper, the performances of message scheduling algorithm for Wide Area Differential GNSS are investigated. For all message types, results show that max update time interval requirement is satisfied.

  • This paper describes a robust visual surveillance algorithm under outdoor environment. One of the difficult problems for outdoor is to obtain effective updating process of background images. Because background images generally contain the shadows of buildings, trees, moving clouds and other objects, they are changed by lapse of time and variation of illumination. They provide the lowering of performance for surveillance system under outdoor. In this paper, a robust algorithm for visual surveillance system under outdoor is proposed, which apply the mixture Gaussian filter and color invariant property on pixel level to update background images. In results, it was showed that the moving objects can be detected on various shadows under outdoor.

  • A fuzzy modeling method is proposed to build the dynamic model of a walking-beam reheating furnace from the recorded data. In the proposed method, the number of membership function on each variable is increased individually and the modeling accuracy is evaluated iteratively. When the modeling accuracy is satisfied, the membership functions on each variable are fixed and the structure of fuzzy model is determined. Because the training data is limited, in this process, as the number of membership function increase, it is highly possible that some rules are missing, i.e., no data in the training set corresponds to the consequent part of a missing rule. To complete the rulebase, the output of the model constructed at the previous step is used to generate the consequent part of the missing rules. Finally, in the real time application, a rolling update scheme to rulebase is introduced to compensate the change of system dynamics and fine tune the rulebase. The proposed method is verified by the application to the modeling of a reheating furnace.

  • In this note, we propose a game system to fairly and transparently control and update game variables using blockchain. As an example, we present an Ethereum-based maze escape game, being the first blockchain-based maze game and the first attempt to control game level through blockchain. In this system, the level function computes maze level reflecting the amount of maze walls purchased/sold by users. Using blockchain for game management saves human and economic resources and prevents unfair practice of game developers unilaterally manipulating game level or item enhancement rate.

  • The classification standards for hotels in Vietnam are different from many other hotel classification standards in the world. This study aims to analyze customer reviews on the TripAdvisor website to develop a new algorithm for hotel rating that is independent of Vietnam's hotel classification standards. This method can be applied to individual hotels, or hotels of a region or the whole country, while online booking sites only rate individual hotels. Data was crawled from TripAdvisor with 22,287 reviews of 5 cities in Vietnam. This study used a statistical model to analyze the review dataset and build an algorithm to rate hotels according to aspects or hotel overall. The results have less rating deviation when compared to the TripAdvisor system. This study also supports hotel managers to regularly update the status of their hotels using data from customer reviews, from which, managers can strategize long-term solutions to improve the quality of the hotel in all aspects and attract more travelers to Vietnam. Moreover, this method can be developed into an automatic system to rate hotels and update the status of service quality more quickly, thus, saving time and costs.

  • INS(inertial navigation system) aligns itself using gravity and Earth's rotational rate from accelerometers and gyro sensors when stationary. Typically, ZUPT(zero velocity update), which is based on a linear error model Kalman filter, is used when it is stationary. However, such algorithms assume stationary conditions, leading to increased alignment errors or filter divergence during maritime mooring due to wave-induced motion. This paper designs a mooring alignment algorithm for maritime platforms using a Kalman filter, which uses large heading angle error model and an initial position correction technique. And it is validated by simulation. Furthermore, it is confirmed that applying this to a rotational INS dramatically improves performance through the principle of bias cancellation.

  • Fast service access involves keeping track of the location of mobile users, while they are moving around the mobile network for a satisfactory level of QoS (Quality of Service) in a cost-effective manner. The location databases are used to keep track of Mobile Terminals (MT) so that incoming calls can be directed to requested mobile terminals at all times. MT reporting cell system used in location management is to designate each cell in the network as a reporting cell or a non-reporting cell. Determination of an optimal number of reporting cells (or reporting cell configuration) for a given network is reporting cell planning (RCP) problem. This is a difficult combinatorial optimization problem which has an exponential complexity. We can see that a cell in a network is either a reporting cell or a non-reporting cell. Hence, for a given network with N cells, the number of possible solutions is 2N. We propose a biogeography based optimization (BBO) for design of mobile station location management system in wireless communication network. The number and locations of reporting cells should be determined to balance the registration for location update and paging operations for search the mobile stations to minimize the cost of system. Experimental results show that our proposed BBO is a fairly effective and competitive approach with respect to solution quality for optimally designing location management system because BBO is suitable for combinatorial optimization and multi-functional problems.

  • This paper proposes a structure of haptic collaboration system over high resolution tiled-display, and proposes a QoE (quality of experience) increase scheme in integrated system. Both haptic system and tiled-display system have requirements of computational power. A haptic device is unstable if haptic rendering rate is less than 1kHz, A requirement of tiled-display systeme is frame rate of display. It requires update of 30 frame fer sec. If we use these systems independently, we can satisfy each requirements. However, if we integrate two systems, performance of entire system significantly decreases because of lack of resources, and QoE of users also decrease. In this paper, therefore, we propose a QoE guaranty scheme which selectively allocates cpu resource between display update and haptic rendering. In order to increase QoE, we set a priority for visual and haptic in order to allocate more resource on visual or haptic. If a user sensitive about touch, then proposed scheme increases haptic rendering rate by allocating more resource. Otherwise a user more sensitive about visual than haptic, proposed scheme decreases haptic rendering rate and increases tiled-display update rate. Therefore, by selectively allocating limited cpu resource, proposed scheme guaranties QoE of both haptic and visual.

  • XML has the characteristics of self-describing and uses DTD or XML schema in order to constraint its structure. Even though the XML schema is only at the stage of recommendation yet, it will be prevalently used because DTD is not itself XML and has the limitation on the expression power. The structure defined by the XML schema as well as the data of the XML documents can vary due to complex reasons. Those reasons are errors in the XML schema design, new requirements due to new applications, etc. Thus, we propose XML schema evolution operators that are extracted from the analysis of the XML schema updates. These schema evolution operators enable the XML schema updates that would have been impossible without supporting tools if there are a large number of XML documents complying the U schema. In addition, these operators includes the function of automatically finding the update place in the XML documents which are registered to the XSE system, and maintaining the XML documents valid to the XML schema rather than merely well-formed. This paper is the first attempt to update XML schemas of the XML documents and provides the comprehensive set of schema updating operations. Our work is necessary for the XML application development and maintenance in that it helps to update the structure of the XML documents as well as the data in the easy and precise manner.

  • During the first and second NGIS projects by the Korean government, The first one (1995~2000) was limited on constructing geographic information and the second (2001~2005) was focused on circulation and practical use of geoinformation from the result of the first project. In the latter half of 2nd NGIS project, However, the geographic information from the NGIS projects have not been renewed even though there were significant geographical changes. The accurate renewal of geoinformation is a matter of great importance to the next generation industry (e.g. LBS, Ubiquitous, Telematics). In this respect, it is time to update the geographic information in the latter half of the second NGIS project. Therefore, It is not only important to build an accurate geoinformation but also rapid and correct renewal of the geoinformation. NGII (National Geographic Information Institute) has been studying for improvement of digital map that was constructed by the result of the 1st NGIS project. Through the construction of clean digital map, NGII constructed Framework Data to three kinds of formats (NGI, NDA, NRL). Framework Data was contained to other database, and provided the reference system of location or contents for combining geoinformation. Framework Data is consist of Data Set, Data Model and UFID (Unique Feature Identifier). It will be achieved as national infrastructure data. This paper attempts to explore a method of the update to practical framework data with realtime geoinformation on feature's creation, modification and destruction managed by 'Feature management agency' using UFID's process. Furthermore, it suggests a method which can provide important data in order to plan the Framework update with the land change ratio.
