In the Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS), the function of classification is very important, and detection performance depends on various features. Recently, a lot of research has been carried out on deep learning, but network intrusion detection system experience slowing down problems due to the large volume of traffic and a high dimensional features. Therefore, we do not use deep learning as a classification, but as a preprocessing process for feature extraction and propose a research method from which classifications can be made based on extracted features. A stacked AutoEncoder, which is a representative unsupervised learning of deep learning, is used to extract features and classifications using the Random Forest classification algorithm. Using the data collected in the IOT environment, the performance was more than 99% when normal and attack traffic are classified into multiclass, and the performance and detection rate were superior even when compared with other models such as AE-RF and Single-RF.
Recently, with the explosive development of computing power, various methods such as RNN and CNN have been proposed under the name of Deep Learning, which solve many problems of Computer Vision have. The Generative Adversarial Network, released in 2014, showed that the problem of computer vision can be sufficiently solved in unsupervised learning, and the generation domain can also be studied using learned generators. GAN is being developed in various forms in combination with various models. Machine learning has difficulty in collecting data. If it is too large, it is difficult to refine the effective data set by removing the noise. If it is too small, the small difference becomes too big noise, and learning is not easy. In this paper, we apply a deep CNN model for extracting facial region in image frame to GAN model as a preprocessing filter, and propose a method to produce composite images of various facial expressions by stably learning with limited collection data of two persons.

In this study, we propose a crack detection method using limited data with a U-Net based image inpainting technique that is a modified unsupervised anomaly detection method. Concrete cracking occurs due to a variety of causes and is a factor that can cause serious damage to the structure in the long term. In general, crack investigation uses an inspector's visual inspection on the concrete surfaces, which is less objective in judgment and has a high possibility of human error. Therefore, a method with objective and accurate image analysis processing is required. In recent years, the methods using deep learning have been studied to detect cracks quickly and accurately. However, when the amount of crack data on the building or infrastructure to be inspected is small, existing crack detection models using it often show a limited performance. Therefore, in this study, an unsupervised anomaly detection method was used to augment the data on the object to be inspected, and as a result of learning using the data, we confirmed the performance of 98.78% of accuracy and 82.67% of harmonic average (F1_Score).
The existing model for sentiment analysis of product reviews learned from past data and new data was labeled based on training. But new data was never used by the existing system for making a decision. The proposed Aspect-based multi-agent Deep Reinforcement learning Sentiment Analysis (ADRSA) model learned from its very first data without the help of any training dataset and labeled a sentence with aspect category and sentiment polarity. It keeps on learning from the new data and updates its knowledge for improving its intelligence. The decision of the proposed system changed over time based on the new data. So, the accuracy of the sentiment analysis using deep reinforcement learning was improved over supervised learning and unsupervised learning methods. Hence, the sentiments of premium customers on a particular site can be explored to other customers effectively. A dynamic environment with a strong knowledge base can help the system to remember the sentences and usage State Action Reward State Action (SARSA) algorithm with Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) model improved the performance of the proposed system in terms of accuracy when compared to the state of art methods.

We propose an effective deep learning model to denoise scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) image series, named Noise2Atom, to map images from a source domain 𝓢 to a target domain 𝓒, where 𝓢 is for our noisy experimental dataset, and 𝓒 is for the desired clear atomic images. Noise2Atom uses two external networks to apply additional constraints from the domain knowledge. This model requires no signal prior, no noise model estimation, and no paired training images. The only assumption is that the inputs are acquired with identical experimental configurations. To evaluate the restoration performance of our model, as it is impossible to obtain ground truth for our experimental dataset, we propose consecutive structural similarity (CSS) for image quality assessment, based on the fact that the structures remain much the same as the previous frame(s) within small scan intervals. We demonstrate the superiority of our model by providing evaluation in terms of CSS and visual quality on different experimental datasets.
Single image rain removal is a typical inverse problem which decomposes the image into a background scene and a rain streak. Recent works have witnessed a substantial progress on the task due to the development of convolutional neural network (CNN). However, existing CNN-based approaches train the network with synthetically generated training examples. These data tend to make the network bias to the synthetic scenes. In this paper, we present an unsupervised framework for removing rain streaks from real-world rainy images. We focus on the natural phenomena that static rainy scenes capture a common background but different rain streak. From this observation, we train siamese network with the real rain image pairs, which outputs identical backgrounds from the pairs. To train our network, a real rainy dataset is constructed via web-crawling. We show that our unsupervised framework outperforms the recent CNN-based approaches, which are trained by supervised manner. Experimental results demonstrate that the effectiveness of our framework on both synthetic and real-world datasets, showing improved performance over previous approaches.
Recommender systems use data from customers to suggest personalized products. The recommender systems can be categorized into three cases; collaborative filtering, contents-based filtering, and hybrid recommender system that combines the first two filtering methods. In this work, we introduce and compare deep learning-based recommender system using autoencoder. Autoencoder is an unsupervised deep learning that can effective solve the problem of sparsity in the data matrix. Five versions of autoencoder-based deep learning models are compared via three real data sets. The first three methods are collaborative filtering and the others are hybrid methods. The data sets are composed of customers' ratings having integer values from one to five. The three data sets are sparse data matrix with many zeroes due to non-responses.

It is very time-intensive to obtain data with labels on anomaly detection tasks for multivariate time series. Therefore, several studies have been conducted on unsupervised learning that does not require any labels. However, a well-done integrative survey has not been conducted on in-depth discussion of learning architecture and property for multivariate time series anomaly detection. This study aims to explore the characteristic of well-known architectures in anomaly detection of multivariate time series. Additionally, architecture was categorized by using top-down and bottom-up approaches. In order toconsider real-world anomaly detection situation, we trained models with dataset such as power grids or Cyber Physical Systems that contains realistic anomalies. From experimental results, we compared and analyzed the comprehensive performance of each architecture. Quantitative performance were measured using precision, recall, and F1 scores.

In order to overcome the limitations of the rule-based intrusion detection system due to changes in Internet computing environments, the emergence of new services, and creativity of attackers, network anomaly detection (NAD) using machine learning and deep learning technologies has received much attention. Most of these existing machine learning and deep learning technologies for NAD use supervised learning methods to learn a set of training data set labeled 'normal' and 'attack'. This paper presents the feasibility of the unsupervised learning AutoEncoder(AE) to NAD from data sets collecting of secured network traffic without labeled responses. To verify the performance of the proposed AE mode, we present the experimental results in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, f1-score, and ROC AUC value on the NSL-KDD training and test data sets. In particular, we model a reference AE through the deep analysis of diverse AEs varying hyper-parameters such as the number of layers as well as considering the regularization and denoising effects. The reference model shows the f1-scores 90.4% and 89% of binary classification on the KDDTest+ and KDDTest-21 test data sets based on the threshold of the 82-th percentile of the AE reconstruction error of the training data set.

Although a non-rigid registration has high demands in clinical practice, it has a high computational complexity and it is very difficult for ensuring the accuracy and robustness of registration. This study proposes a method of applying a non-rigid registration to 3D magnetic resonance images of brain in an unsupervised learning environment by using a deep-learning network. A feature vector between two images is produced through the network by receiving both images from two different patients as inputs and it transforms the target image to match the source image by creating a displacement vector field. The network is designed based on a U-Net shape so that feature vectors that consider all global and local differences between two images can be constructed when performing the registration. As a regularization term is added to a loss function, a transformation result similar to that of a real brain movement can be obtained after the application of trilinear interpolation. This method enables a non-rigid registration with a single-pass deformation by only receiving two arbitrary images as inputs through an unsupervised learning. Therefore, it can perform faster than other non-learning-based registration methods that require iterative optimization processes. Our experiment was performed with 3D magnetic resonance images of 50 human brains, and the measurement result of the dice similarity coefficient confirmed an approximately 16% similarity improvement by using our method after the registration. It also showed a similar performance compared with the non-learning-based method, with about 10,000 times speed increase. The proposed method can be used for non-rigid registration of various kinds of medical image data.
