This study was carried out to investigate consciousness level of physical exercise and analyze factors affection to the practice of exercise. The main purpose of the study was to give basic and necessary data in developing of program regarding to the physical exercise of the people and social athletics. This study was conducted by trained surveyers, for dweller in three cities(Seoul, Taegu and Ulsan) during January 4. 1990 to January 24. 1990. The results of this study can be summarized as follows 1. The purpose of this study was to examine the image of dental hygienists. The subjects in the study were 396 patients and their caregivers who visited 14 dental hospitals and dentists' offices in and around Seoul. After a survey was conducted, the following findings were given: 1. The people investigated gave a mean of 4.0 to the image of dental hygienists. Dental hygienists rated highest in terms of looking neat and tidy(4.33), and were given the lowest marks in arbitrary job performance(3.46). 2. There appeared four different types of dental hygienist images, which made a 59.824 prediction of the image of dental hygienists in general. A typical image(4.11) was most dominant, followed by professional one(4.07), personal one(4.01) and social one(3.73). 3. The relations between the general characteristics of the respondents and their image of dental hygienists could be described as below: 1) By age, those who were in their 60s(4.12) had the best image of dental hygienists, and the teenagers(3.90) had the worst image of them. 2) By gender, the men(4.05) looked at dental hygienists more positively than the women(3.96). They had a significantly different opinion on the social image of dental hygienists according to gender(pE0.05). 3) By marital status, the married people(4.00) had a better image of dental hygienists than the unmarried ones(3.95). 4) As for the influence of the type of dental institutions, they had a more favorable image of dental hygienists in dentists' offices(4.13) than in dental hospitals(3.88). There was a broad significant difference in the way they looked at the professional and personal images of dental hygienists according to the type of dental institutions(pE0.001). 5) As to the impact of educational level, those who received community-college or higher education(4.01) had the best image of dental hygienists, and those who received middle-school or lower education(3.91) had the worst image of them. 6) By occupation, the government workers and students(4.07) had the best image of dental hygienists, and the company employees(3.90) had the worst image of them. They took a significantly different view of the social image of dental hygienists according to occupation(pE0.05). 7) Concerning the impact of the frequency of receiving dental treatment, the respondents who had received it seven times or more(4.16) had the best image of dental hygienists, and those who hadn't(3.79) the worst image of them. There was a wide significant gap according to that frequency. The way they looked at the typical, social and professional images of dental hygienists was quite different significantly according to that frequency as well(pE0.001). 8) As for the influence of whether they were accompanied by caregivers or not, the people who weren't accompanied by caregivers(3.99) had a better image of dental hygienists than those who were(3.97).
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the oral health knowledge and actual oral health care of the selected subjects, their decision making about prosthetic treatment, the state and characteristics of their prosthetic treatment and their satisfaction with prosthetic treatment in an attempt to provide some information on the improvement of the quality of life related to oral health and the promotion of oral health. Methods : The subjects in this study were 250 people who received education in two different lifelong education institutions in the city of Busan. After a survey was conducted from May 23 to June 15, 2011, the answer sheets from 217 respondents were analyzed. Results : 1. As for the general characteristics of the respondents, the men(52.1%) outnumbered the women. Those who were in their 60 and up(47.5%) made up the largest age group, and the married people(65.4%) outnumbered the unmarried ones. By occupation, the company employees(20.3%) made up the biggest group. By education, the greatest group was high-school graduates(36.1%). By monthly mean income, the biggest group gained an income of 2.01 million won or more(36.9%). As to medical security, community-based insurance was most prevailing (36.9%). In terms of health promotion, the largest group worked out to stay fit(52.4%). 2. Regarding oral health knowledge, they had a good knowledge about the cause of dental caries(56.7%), but they weren't well aware of the right time for regular dental checkup(47.9%). In relation to oral health care, regular scaling wasn't prevailing(16.9%). 3. Regarding connections between the general characteristics and satisfaction with prosthesis, the less-educated respondents expressed significantly more dissatisfaction(p=0.015). By monthly mean income, those who had a smaller income were dissatisfied in general(p=0.028). Conclusions : The findings of the study illustrated that it's required to spread awareness of the importance of oral health among people in general, and that differentiated incremental oral health care should be provided for different age groups. In order to raise the satisfaction of patients with prosthesis, how to relieve their pain and anxiety and how to adjust prosthetic treatment cost properly should carefully be considered. In addition, the government should take measures to offer assistance for the low-income classes in preparation for an increase in the elderly population.
The government is emphasizing for a National Food Plan with the aim of establishing a system that can supply healthy and high-quality food to the people. Since consumers' interest and participation are important in vitalizing local food plans, comparative studies on consumer perceptions of food plans are needed. Accordingly, the purpose of the study is to enhance consumers' awareness and understanding of food plans, and to investigate and analyze their perceptions of agriculture and rural areas, and agricultural food consumption behavior according to the level of consumer awareness. As a result of the analysis, consumers were classified into three groups based on the food plan-related awareness score. In terms of marital status unmarried people had a high proportion in the lower group, and married people had a high proportion in the upper group. The higher the perception of food plans, the higher the perception of the importance of eco-friendly or animal welfare foods and the importance of brands when purchasing agricultural and livestock products. The higher the awareness of food plans, the higher the interest of all aspects of food plans. In this study, it can be seen that there were differences in demographic characteristics according to the food plan recognition level groups, in awareness of food plan-related agriculture, and agricultural food product consumption behavior.
The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of family resilience on willingness for self-sufficiency in self-sufficiency program participants and to verify the mediating effect of mental health in the relationship. The survey subjects were 283 participants from a local self-support center in Gangwon-do. As for the analysis method, descriptive statistics and difference verification were performed. Also, hierarchical regression analysis and mediating effect method were performed to verify the research model. First, as a result of the difference test, the level of self-support was higher when there was a caring family. The level of family resilience was higher in those who were in their 40s and 50s than in their 30s or less, married than unmarried, had normal or excellent health conditions than deplorable health conditions, and had a caring family. Mental health quality was higher in very healthy people rather than in people who had poor health. Also, people with no dept had a higher mental health quality. Second, as a result of analyzing the relationship of influence on self-support, the higher the age, the more caring families, the higher the level of family resilience and mental health, the higher the self-sufficiency. Third, as a result of the mediating effect analysis, mental health had a partial mediating effect between family resilience and willingness for self-sufficiency. Therefore, we discussed the implications for improving family resilience and mental health as a factor in improving the level of self-sufficiency in self-sufficiency program participants.
This study aims to examine how much Korean's family value orientations and gender role attitudes are different from those of U.S.A., Sweden, and Japan, and how demographic variables influence family value orientations and gender role attitudes across the countries. By using 2004 Korea General Social Survey data and 2002 International Social Survey Program family module, multiple regression analyses showed that Korean's family value orientations and gender role attitudes were much more traditional than those of U.S.A., Sweden, and Japan, even after controlling demographic variables. Furthermore, each country showed a distinct pattern in the impact of demographic variables on family value orientations and gender role attitudes. Among the demographic variables, age and marital status were statistically significant indicators of family value orientations for all the countries. However, gender, the year of education, and employment status effected on family value orientations only in some countries. The findings of this study showed that Korea was still traditional in terms of family value orientations and gender role attitudes, compared with U.S.A, Sweden, and Japan. Although family value orientations were more traditional in Korea than in the other countries, all the countries showed similar patterns of explaining mechanism in the effect of demographic variables on family value orientations. People who were men and married were likely to be more traditional than those who were women and unmarried. However, gender role attitudes showed interesting results. All the demographic variables were significant predictors of gender role attitudes for Korea, whereas only some of demographic variables were statistically significant indicators of gender role attitudes for other countries. That is, Korean society showed strong attitudinal differences on the basis of demographic variables. The implication of these differences was discussed.
As a society is becoming more and more complicated people living in modern times are experiencing more stresses for various reasons. Some past research results proved the role of clothing in reducing the stresses. The purpose of this study is to investigate how the preference of the mini-style which is recently most fashionable styles is related to the psychological factors such as stress and body satisfaction. Measure Instrument were Nolmes and Masuda(1973)'s SRRS(Social Readjustment Rating Scal) Secord and Jourard(1953)' Body Cathexis Scale and mini-style preference scale by author Survey questionnaires were distributed to two hundred seventy adult women living in Seoul area during may 25 1992. through June 8. 1992. The age range of the subjects was from 30 to 49 The final number of subjects in-cluded in the statistical analysis was 244. The result and conclusions are as follows: 1. Significant difference was existed in mini-style preference between high and low body satisfaction groups. Mini-style was pre-ferred by high body satisfaction group than low body satisfaction group. 2, Significant difference was existed in mini-style preference between high and low stress groups. Mini-style was preferred by low stress group than high stress group. 3. Regarding demographic characteristics unmarried 2 year college graduates with low family income in their early 30's pref. mini-style. 4. There was a marginal interaction effect of demographic characteristics on the relation-ship between mini-style preference and body satisfaction. The higher preference and body satisfaction. The higher preference for mini-style was found for the higher body satis-faction group mostly with the age range of 35 to 39 married 4 year college graduates as drop-puts and mid less income group. 5. There was a marginal interaction effect of demographic variables on the relatonship be-tween mini style preference and stress level The higher preference for mini-style was re-lated to the low stress level group mostly with age group of 35 to 44 high school graduates or lower and highest income group regardless of their marital status. In sum mini-style seems to be preferred by women who feel relatively less stress and are more satisfied with their bodies thus psycho-logically stable.
The purpose of this study was to identify malignant tumor-related factors in breast diseases and to find out how recently reported oral contraceptives affect women in Korea. The research method is data from the 7th National Health and Nutrition Survey conducted by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and was provided according to the procedures for use guided through the website of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The analyzed data covered a total of 9,981 people, 3,341 in 2016, 3,263 in 2017 and 3,377 in 2018. The results from the study showed the significance of age, smoking, drinking, hyperlipidemia and unmarried related variables, especially the significance of oral contraceptives. Based on this study, it can contribute to active prevention of related factors and cancer-causing suppression policies, especially since the use of oral contraceptives is on the rise, it is believed that continuous research of the subjects to be taken, such as the period and dosage, should be carried out.

This study examined the effects of the symptoms of musculoskeletal disorder and the burden of the body on work stress in a university hospital workers. The research surveyed 679 subjects. The relevant factors affecting the job stress were found to be female, young people age group, unmarried, shift work, work more than 8 hours, short experience workers. The work stress was significantly higher in the non-smoker (p=0.000), regular exercise/sports(p=0.022) and non-drinking(p=0.038) groups. In addition, the mental fatigue, presence of musculoskeletal symptoms, fatigue level, and marital status increase the risk of the work stress. The results showed that the burden of the body and musculoskeletal disorders are related interactively with each other.
This study was executed in order to analyze the purchasing practices, preferences, and satisfaction of consumers purchasing ready-to-eat foods. The study was executed from the $20\;May{\sim}30\;June$ 2007 in the Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do area. Questionnaires were distributed among 480 people. Of these, 410 questionnaires were collected and applied to a statistical analysis. Statistical analyses were conducted using the SPSS package program (version 14.0 for windows). The results of the statistical analyses were as follows. 42.4% males and 57.6% females participated in this study. The biggest motivation behind the purchase of ready-to-eat foods was convenience, 51.0%. The most common venues where these foods were purchased were supermarkets or discount marts, 67.6%. The ratio of substituting ready-to-eat foods for meals was 70.5%. The consumption practices of ready-to-eat foods of the consumers according to purchase place illustrated significant differences in the average expense per person each time (p<0.01), co-consumer (p<0.001), and age (p<0.05). The purchase preference was high with kimbaps (73.4%), hamburgers (29.8%), sushis (29.0%), and sandwiches (27.9%). Unmarried individuals showed a significantly higher overall liking and satisfaction for ready-to-eat foods than married individuals (p<0.001). Individuals living without a family was significantly higher overall liking and satisfaction than individuals living with a family (p<0.05). Individuals who spent an average of 10,000 won per time showed a significantly higher overall liking and satisfaction than those who spent below 10,000 won per time (p<0.05). In the presence of a friend as a co-consumer of ready-to-eat foods, satisfaction was significantly high (p<0.01). Consumers who purchased ready-to-eat foods at meal times, showed a significantly higher overall liking, compared to those who purchased such food products in between meal times (p<0.01). The preference and satisfaction degree of the consumer must be reflected by product development, quality improvement and marketing plan establishment.
