Security Model for Pervasive Multimedia Environment

  • With the rapidity of the development on electronic technology, various mobile devices are produced to make human life more convenient. The user is always in constant search of middle with ease of deployment. Therefore, the development of infrastructure and application with ubiquitous nature gets a growing keen interest. Recently, the number of pervasive network services is expanding into ubiquitous computing environment. To get desired services, user presents personal details about this identity, location and private information. The information transmitted and the services provided in pervasive computing environments (PCEs) are exposed to eavesdropping and various attacks. Therefore, the need to protect this environment from illegal accesses has become extremely urgent. In this paper, we propose an anonymous authentication and access control scheme to secure the interaction between mobile users and services in PCEs. The proposed scheme integrates a biometric authentication in PKI model. The proposed authentication aims to secure access remote in PCE for guaranteeing reliability and availability. Our authentication concept can offer pervasive network service users convenience and security.

  • Recently, the application area of wireless LAN(Internet) and CDMA have been increased, rapidly. Bridge monitoring system using this ubiquitous Computing Technology can bring more convenience of bridge maintenance and management. This paper present a automatic data acquisition, control and processing technology through this concept, and check system applicability to the concrete bridge completed. Finally, The preventive bridge monitoring through the application of this system will progress in technology and make civil infrastructure more safe and useful.

  • This paper proposes a new concept of IDSP(Intelligent Digital Switchgear Panel) which can solve the problem of the safety, the reliability and the convenience to correspond to the requirement of the general electric customer or electric power company under the ubiquitous-based home automation environments. By analyzing their requirement functions, a 32-bit micro processor is adopted as main controller to support the designed functions efficiently. The DSP-based single phase power management device is utilized to collect the electric power information and the ethernet convertor to communicate through internet among the IDSPs and the remote computer system. In the proposed IDSP, the several functions are implemented such as the earth leakage level display and waveform transmission, the electric fee display, the voltage management, the load management and the load control function. Finally, the prototype of the IDSP is made experimently based on the designed results, and then the effectiveness is verified by testing its basic functions.

  • The trend is that the wireless communication system, which has specific characteristics ; low cost & limitation for installation, has been developed more actively than the wire communication system. Therefore, the communication system has been changed from the wire system with an optical cable to the wireless system in the various field of life. In the railroad field, lots of researches on the wireless communication system for the safety of infrastructure and the convenience of passenger have been conducted. The WSN(Wireless Sensor Network), which means same concept with USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network), pursues the ubiquitous environment which means user can access network at anywhere and anytime. In this paper, the wireless communication technologies which are suitable for the WSN of subway station were investigated and the best solution of WSN was suggested.

  • 현재 스마트폰과 애플리케이션은 우리의 생활에 커다란 변화를 가져오고 있으며, 농업 분야에 적용할 경우 농업의 부가가치와 생산성 향상 및 다양한 활용이 가능할 것으로 기대된다. 본 논문에서는 언제 어디서나 실시간으로 축사를 모니터링하거나 관리할 수 있는 스마트폰 어플리케이션을 제안하고자 한다. 제안하는 어플리케이션은 무선 센서 네트워크 기반 유비쿼터스 축사에서 수집된 축사의 환경정보 및 영상정보를 사용자가 스마트폰을 활용하여 실시간으로 축사를 모니터링 할 수 있으며, 언제 어디서나 스마트폰을 이용하여 축사시설을 제어할 수 있다. 제안하는 어플리케이션은 축사시설 제어를 가능하게 하여 사용자의 편의를 제공하고 생산량을 증대시킬 수 있다.

  • 유비쿼터스 홈에서는 유무선 통신 네트워크를 기반으로 가정 내의 다양한 가전기기 및 센서들이 네트워크로 상호 연결되어 다양한 서비스 제공이 가능하며 지능적이고 상황인식에 기반 한 상호 연동을 통하여 사용자의 편의를 극대화 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 상황인식 기술, 다양한 센서로 부터의 상황정보 관리 기술, JESS를 이용한 추론 모듈, 홈 시스템을 위한 사실 및 규칙 정의 등에 대하여 설명한다. 또한 이를 기반으로 홈 서비스 시스템을 설계한다.

  • In a study of a peculiarity of the Korean residence construction as the central Jeong Yeo Chang's Residence, we proposed varieties service models for an anthropocentric U-Korean style with "a convenience, a security, an economical, a pleasure". It was to assume for this research that was established in case of all necessity IT infrastructures, and was structural alterations to a Korean residence sectional. It was used for Wall-Pad(Home Gateway) for controlling services, gas valves, remote inspection of a meter, curtains, doorlocks, boilers, temperature controllers, indoor ventilation systems, breakers, and expansion of crime prevention, energy. With introducing various service models on U-Korean style house, removing a negative view about Korean residence, we drew the best suited residence condition combining with a merit of the Korean residence and the Ubiquitous Intelligent Home Service. In order to realize U-Korean style house at the right time at the right place, a maintenance was required to be ensured based on social infrastructures and institutions and laws.

A Quantitative Analysis of System-Level Performance of the Wireless LAN in Digital Home Environments

  • A digital home is a ubiquitous environment that is expected to be realized in the near future. All information appliances in a house are connected to each other through wired and/or wireless home networks. Authenticated user can access the various services provided by the digital home, and the access is not restricted by equipment, time, or location. The technologies that form the digital home can be grouped into two categories: wired networking technologies and wireless networking technologies. For the purpose of ubiquitous environments, wireless-networks offer suitable and seamless high-quality services. A wireless LAN can be created simply by equipping a single access point. For that reason, the cost of establishing such a network is low and using it is easy. Of course, there is an exciting new wireless technology. It is the Ultra Wide Band (UWB). However, it is not enough to bring wireless convenience, although offering a broad range of high-speed data transfer capabilities, Because of unstable. Thus, of the wireless-networking systems, we focus on the wireless LAN. We quantitatively analyze its capabilities. The dynamic and adaptive wireless LAN provides a foundation for the evolution toward the next generation of wireless and adaptive networks. The difference between wired LAN and wireless LAN in upload and download rates is small. Although the wireless LAN experiences a greater loss rate than the wired LAN, the difference is minimal. We conclude that a wireless LAN is suitable for use in an apartment environment.

  • 유비쿼터스 이동통신의 실현을 위해서는 사용자가 의식하지 않고도 통신 서비스를 제공받는 환경의 구축이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 이를 위한 이동통신 환경 구축 알고리즘을 제안한다. LBS(Location Based Service) 기술을 이용 이동통신 단말기의 서비스 기능 환경을 자동적으로 인지하고, 이동통신 환경에 따른 다양한 사용자의 요청 및 환경에 대한 지속적인 상호 연동을 통한 서비스 제공으로 사용자의 편의를 극대화 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 알고리즘 구현을 위하여 MSC에 이동통신 환경 구축 파라메터에 따라 이동통신 환경을 결정하는 알고리즘을 제안하였으며 이를 C코드로 구현하였다.

  • 모바일 사용자 인터페이스가, 특히 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서, 정보를 빨리 그리고 편리하게 액세스하는데 중요해지고 있다. 모바일 컴퓨팅 환경에서의 많은 신규서비스들 중에서, 한글1자 도메인명을 포함하여, 한글알파벳(자음과 모음) 도메인명을 이용한 유비쿼터스 정보네트워킹서비스가 연구되었다. 긴 영어나 한글의 URL 스트링 대신에, 정보 액세스를 위한 편리한 사용자 인터페이스로서, 유선 인터넷에서 뿐만아니라 모바일 인터넷에서, 한글1자/자음/모음 도메인명이 정보를 액세스하고 정보를 알리는데 긴 URL스트링보다 더 편리하다. PC뿐만아니라 휴대폰에서 한글1자/자음/모음 도메인명의 편리함을 연구하였고, 음성변환(TTS) 기능을 가지고 있으며 한글1자/자음/모음 도메인명으로 액세스할 수 있는 유비쿼터스 정보포털의 구현과 응용을 소개한다
