  • Smart environment of health information technology, u-Healthcare architecture, ad-hoc networking and wireless communications environment are major factors that increase vulnerability of u-healthcare information systems. Traffic domain is the concept of network route that identifies the u-Healthcare information systems area as the traffic passing and security technologies application. The criterion of division is an area requiring the application of security technology. u-Healthcare information system domains are derived from the intranet section. the public switched network infrastructure, and networking sectors. Domains of health information systems are separated by domain vulnerability reason. In this study, domain-specific security vulnerability assessment system based on the USN in u-Healthcare system is derived. The model used in this study suggests how to establish more effective measurement USN-based health information network security vulnerability which has been vague until now.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of u-health system on metabolic syndrome risk factor, body composition, and fitness in male and female elderly. Subjects were 46 elderly(24 men and 22 women) with metabolic syndrome. They were divided into u-health group and home exercise group. Blood pressure, blood profile, body composition, and fitness were measured before and after the intervention. As a results, blood glucose and waist circumference showed significant interaction in both men and women, respectively. In body composition, weight, muscle mass, fat mass, %body fat, BMI showed significant interaction whereas only muscle mass showed significant differences in women. In fitness, there were interaction shown in 3m up and go, functional reach, and gait speed in men. In women sit to stand, 6min walk, and grip strength showed significant interaction. In conclusion, u-health system seems to be the effective method in terms of checking regularly. However, easier and more simple system for elderly and specific direction for exercise should be added.

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate trends of oral health behaviors in Korean adolescents. Methods: From the 2005 to 2017 Korea Youth Risk Behavior web-based Survey (KYRBS) Secondary Data (study to 748,461). Independent variables were the year, gender, grade, and living area. Dependent variables were the rate of tooth-brushing after lunch, scaling, use of sealant, and oral health education within 1 year. Chi-squire tests were used to estimate the rate of oral health behaviors and trends. In addition, multiple logistic regression analysis was used to estimate the association between socio-economic characteristics and oral health behaviors. The analyses were conducted using IBM SPSS statistics 21 (version 21.0, IBM Corporation, New York, NY, USA). Results: The rate of tooth-brushing after lunch and use of sealant have significantly increased every year. Oral health behaviors were significantly associated with socio-economic characteristics. The rate of oral health education was higher among males than females, which was in contrast to other oral health behaviors. The scores for tooth-brushing after lunch, use of sealant, and scaling in females were 2.33 (95% CI; 2.27-2.40), 1.31 (95% CI; 1.29-1.33), and 1.20 (95% CI; 1.18-1.22), which were higher than those in males. The score for use of sealant in the highest household economy group was 1.13 (95% CI; 1.10-1.17), which was higher than the lowest economy group. Conclusions: We found positive trends of oral health behaviors in Korean adolescents.

  • As the sensors and communication technology get advance, the remote health diagnosis for patients and senior persons at home are possible now without visiting doctors in hospitals. A low-power ubiquitous health check device was developed adapting Real-Time Embedded Linux is developed. This ubiquitous device is consisted of three sensors. The wrist type health checking terminal acquires periodically the health data by using a blood pressure sensor, a pulse sensor and a body temperature sensor. It transmits the health data to the access point located at the home center through the ZigBee wireless communication modem. This health data collector or access point device sends the data again to the main server operated in a hospital or health care organization. The health server control continuously the input data and sends an alarm signal to the assigned. doctor and responsible persons using cellular SMS when any dangerous events occur. This wrist type health check device has an embedded linux OS using Intel PAX255 MPU. The developed U-Health system is applicable for checking patients health in remote at home. And their family or related persons in remote site can check the patients health status at any time. They can be assured by receiving SMS record and alarm of emergency case which is transmitted from the health server.

  • It is necessary to accurate and efficient management for measured digital data from sensors in u-health system. It is not efficient that sensor network process input stream data of mass storage stored in database the same time. We propose to improve the processing performance of multidimensional stream data continuous incoming from multiple sensor. We propose process query based on sliding window for efficient input stream and found multiple query plan to Mjoin method and we reduce stored data using backpropagation algorithm. As a result, we obtained to efficient result about 18.3% reduction rate of database using 14,324 data sets.

  • This research is to develop PPG filtering method for respiration measurement in U-Health Care system. Respiration rate was determined by filtering PPG and analyzing its spectrum. Optimal filter of PPG has been selected to get respiration by testing 120 sets of experiment data using 700 filtering cases. As a result, 2nd order Bessel-filter that used band-pass cutoff frequency at 0.175~0.4Hz with second order was good at developing respiration signal. Respiration signal in time domain could be continuously analyzed by converting frequency domain using spectrum analysis. 24 seconds has been found to be optimal time duration of collecting PPG data for determining respiration. Therefore, this study was successful of getting not only heart activity but also respiration by only PPG. Minimal invasive measurement obtaining multi-bio information by one sensor can be expected to apply to U-Health Care and human computer interaction.

  • This paper is to estimate the market potentiality of ubiquitous health(u-health) from a viewpoint of communication companies. For this estimation, we used the CVM and adopted the ratio of ovum(2000) in overall market of u-health. That is, firstly, we assumed the u-business model was based on mobile business approach. Through this estimation, we conclude that communication companies at the initial stage of the u-health market can continuously promote the market share ratio via strategic alliance with the players participating.

  • We first demonstrated that cordycepin inhibited cell growth and triggered apoptosis in U87MG cells with wild-type p53, but not in T98G cells with mutant-type p53. Western blot data revealed that the levels of procaspase-8, -3, and Bcl-2 were downregulated in cordycepin-treated U87MG cells, whereas the levels of Fas, FasL, Bak, cleaved caspase-3, -8, and cleaved PARP were upregulated, indicating that cordycepin induces apoptosis by activating the death receptor-mediated pathway in U87MG cells. Cordycepin-induced apoptosis could be suppressed by only SB203580, a p38 MAPK-specific inhibitor. These results suggest that cordycepin triggered apoptosis in U87MG cells through p38 MAPK activation and inhibition of the Akt survival pathway.
