  • ECCOMAS Thematic Conference Multibody 2003 was held at IST (Instituto Superior Technico), Lisbon, Portugal from July 1 to July 4. 2003. And MBDV(Multibody Dynamics and Vibration) in the 2003 ASME DETC was held at Chicago, U.S.A. from September 2 to September 6. In this paper, the presented papers in these conferences were reviewed and the trends in the multibody dynamics are summarized. The session titles in these conferences include Flexible Multibody Dynamics, Vehicle Dynamics, Contact, Biomechanics, Real-time Challenges, Spatial manipulator and Control, Multidisciplinary Applications, and Advanced Education. The poster session was also organized for more discussions in the Multibody2003 conference.

  • The power conversion system for Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle(FCEV), technical trend, and a various type of Fuel Cell and its characteristics are presented. Especially, this paper is focused on the control methods of power conversion devices applied for the Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle, configuration of power system and operation mode of the bidirectional DC/DC converter. The prevalent topology for the power conversion systems, simulation results and development a tendency of FCEV and it's market investigations are introduced.

  • A GPS receiver provides much information such as calculated position, speed, heading, status of satellites, current time errors, etc. It is well-known that GPS signals from GPS receiver mounted on moving vehicle are often distorted, contaminated by various noises, and blocked by tunnel or tall buildings. The phenomenon often obstructs correct navigation especially when a vehicle keeps stopping or is moving in low speed. Therefore it is needed to pre-process the signals to adapt it to various applications. In this paper, an algorithm to pre-process the signals is proposed. For this, GPS data obtaining from uNAV GPS receiver are analyzed and classified based on dynamic characteristic. Then, the proposed algorithm is applied to the data and some test results are shown to verify the usefulness of the algorithm.

  • 최근 유비쿼터스 기술의 발달과 도시의 패러다임 변화에 따라 효율적인 광고의 정보 전달을 위하여 첨단 기술과 매체간 융합을 통해 버스의 도착시간안내, 스마트폰을 활용한 광고 등 도시민들에게 더욱더 편리한 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 그러나 뉴미디어를 이용한 실시간 이동형광고의 경우 대용량 데이터의 전달방법과 통신료 부담 등의 어려움이 많아 이를 개선시키는 방법이 필요하다. 본 논문은 이러한 어려움을 극복하고자 연구 되었다. 이동형광고 중 u-버스광고 비즈니스 모델과 이동시 실시간 정보제공, 대용량 데이터전송 등 매체의 특성 분석을 통한 차별화 사업전략 방안을 제시하며, 운영센타에서 네트워크를 통해 차량 단말부를 통한 광고송출까지 구체적인 시스템 구축방안을 제시한다. 본 논문은 첨단기술과 다양한 매체와의 융합을 통한 실무적으로 활용 가능한 비즈니스모델로서 시사점을 제공한다는 측면에서 큰 의의가 있다.

  • 모바일 환경에서의 지리정보 서비스는 현장에서 필요한 정보를 즉시 얻고 그것을 현장에 동적으로 적용하도록 함으로써 서비스 대상자의 비용과 효율을 높여줄 수 있다. 현재 모바일 환경에서의 지리정보 서비스는 단순한 차량 내비게이션 정도에 머물고 있으며, 대규모 지형을 포함한 복잡한 지리정보에 대한 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 시스템 사양에 최적화된 콘텐츠의 제공과 처리 기술에 대한 연구가 필요하다.

Smart EVs Charging Scheme for Load Leveling Considering ToU Price and Actual Data

  • With the current global need for eco-friendly energies, the large scale use of Electric Vehicles (EVs) is predicted. However, the need to frequently charge EVs to an electrical power system involves risks such as rapid increase of demand power. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a practical smart EV charging scheme considering a Time-of-Use (ToU) price to prevent the rapid increase of demand power and provide load leveling function. For a more practical analysis, we conduct simulations based on the actual distribution system and driving patterns in the Republic of Korea. Results show that the proposed method provides a proper load leveling function while preventing a rapid increase of demand power of the system.

민수용 헬리콥터의 사고 비교분석 (The Relative Analysis of the Civil Helicopter Accident)

  • The safety should be primarily considered for air vehicle, such as helicopter, which is not easy to cope with when out of order or loss of control that followed catastrophe. The U.S National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigated and analyzed for 34 years rotorcraft accidents that occurred from 1963 through 1997. This paper handles intensively the relative investigation and analysis of recent 10 years domestic civil helicopter accidents to those of the United States in order to increase the safety of helicopter transportation and to consider the main design parameter before we develop Korean Civil Helicopter. To understand the overview of civil turbine helicopter accident, it uses the NTSB's accident investigation results and the overall accident trend for U.S civil single and twin turbine engine helicopter according to category, cause, activity, and phase of operation.

  • For intelligent vehicles, recognizing the sounding is an important task. In this paper we propose an road area detection system. This system uses u-disparity and v-disparity map. v-disparity map is used to find the road area. u-disparity is used to cluster the area that is an object. The test results and overall system is discribed in this paper.

  • After the yield of North Korea conducted underground the first nuclear test in 2006, which was less than a kiloton, it launched a vehicle on this April 9 again, which is believed to be a Taepo-dong 2 missile, defying international warnings that the move would violate U.N. resolutions, from Musudan-ni, North Korea. Its development and proliferation of ballistic missile and nuclear bomb technology pose a threat to the northeast Asian region and to international peace and security. In the other launching the missile, a newspaper reported that "While the launch was dubbed a failure by the U.S., it was an improvement over the North Koreans' July 2006 test of the Taepodong-2, said Green of the Center for Strategic and International Studies. "It was definitely better than last time, but it's still not an operational system," Green said.

  • In this study, based on numerical map GIS-T Dataset build and by using ArcGIS Network Analysis emergency vehicle's reach time were analyzed. AutoCad using 1: 50,000 based on roads and hospitals of numerical map were creating a Polyline and Point and Network Dataset made using ArcCatalog. ArcGIS Analysis setting the interval for the period reached 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 15 minutes was set and then U-Turn was set to not allow because U-turn takes a long time to calculate and does not happen often on the real road. Intersection of the passage of time, considering that the emergency vehicles were set to 3 seconds. To expand by taking advantage of this facility on Vulnerable area will be used as base material. If we focus on analyzing the emergency activity to convert little data, To prepare for disaster and disaster will be able to use the materials.
