  • 석유자원의 고갈과 환경문제의 제기는 농업에 대하여 새로운 역할을 요구하게 된다. 농산물을 활용하면 자원의 한계는 극복될 수가 있다. 이러한 관점에서 농업은 새로운 역할이 기대되면 재평가 이루어질 필요가 있다.

  • Recently, USN technology has been spreaded to all areas of application systems. In addition to urban application systems such as u-City, u-Home and u-Education, u-Farming(ubiquitous farming) technology supports agricultural innovations in the farm. In the u-farming environment for livestock or plant production, key environmental factors i.e. temperature, humidity and luminosity are to be set optimally to increase productivity and safety by applying USN technology. This approach could change agricultural environment. In this paper, we proposed an implantable micro sensor node to be implanted into laying hen to monitor deep body temperature. This sensor node uses SoC(System-on-Chip) designed for USN. In addition to that, we discussed about further considerations on the practical use of proposed sensor node.

  • The monitoring and controlling systems on middleware for agriculture service instead of pigpen is focused on context-awareness and event-centric structure in this paper. By processing and monitoring context information which obtained from a sensor field, the u-Farm middleware is to promptly provide the response for various queries from agriculture's application service. It allows a device to provide optimal ubiquitous farm environment.

  • To build ubiquitous agriculture environment successfully, development of core technology for agriculture, such as sensor node H/W, sensor node middleware platform, routing protocol and agricultural environment application service is essential. With the application of u-IT technologies to traditional agriculture area, fusion complex technologies become a source to raise value-added agriculture product and its productivity. However, it is imperative to expand horticulture industry area and improve infrastructure for utility-based horticulture. This paper proposes an agriculture product growth environment management system that utilizes environmental factor monitoring sensors and biological information sensors in greenhouse to specifically manage botany growth environment management.
