A Study on the Interior Design of Mosi Market Considering the Circulation Process and Merchandising System (유통과정 및 판매시스템을 고려한 모시유통센타의 실내계획에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims at alalyzing the circulation process, merchandising system of Mosi(Korean traditional garment material), and accessing the way of interior design of Mosi market. There are three kinds of garment material of Mosi such as Pilmosi, Gootmosi, Taemosi classified by manufacturing process. At Mosi market, these three materials are sold in due sequence. Mosi market needs three space zones such as Mosi market space, inspecting space of Mosi and resting place, and these three spaces have strong interrelationship, so designer should plan not to disterb the moving flow. In the Mosi market space there should be divided by three zones such as Pilmosi marketing place, Gootmosi marketing place, and Taemosi marketing place in due sequence. The furniture of Mosi market place divided two kinds such as furniture for Pilmosi and that of Gootmosi or Taemosi. The proper form of furniture for Pilmosi is circular arc bar counter and that for Gootmosi or Taemosi is low rectangular table.

  • The Summary Handbook of Acupuncture and Moxibustion (鍼灸要覽) (SHAM) was written by an unknown folk healer who learned acupuncture about 100 years ago in Korea. The book discusses 79 acupoints and includes a table of contents, a text, and a pair of acupoint charts. The acupoints in the book are classed under two headings, 49 acupoints of 14 meridians and 33 acupoints. A number of the acupoints such as Gichoong (氣忠), Eumheobong (陰虛峰), Goowa (口卧), Cheonryang (天良) did not fit the then existing meridian system and were newly uncovered by the authors. The book also discusses needle insertion depth in a way that is quite different from how insertion depth is understood by clinicians today. Books such as SHAM that record new acupoints and treatments are rare among Korea's existing medical and clinical books and can be said to be very important in terms of medical history.

  • This paper studies computer programming for Two-Way Layout with Multiple Observations - Fixed Model using the subroutines of the former paper. The following items are considered in the PC computer programming: * significant digits in the computation of Sum of Squares * containing the necessary F-distribution values in the program * including the necessary estimation after the Analysis of Variance * following the rules of KS A 0021 in rounding off digits etc. The running results of Analysis of Variation Table and Estimations of a fictitious example is added with the parts of PC program. It should be mentioned that the main purpose of this paper is in the arousing of the discussion about significant digits concept in the PC computer programming for various kinds of Statistical Methods.

Dietary manipulation: a sustainable way to mitigate methane emissions from ruminants

  • Methane emission from the enteric fermentation of ruminant livestock is a main source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission and a major concern for global warming. Methane emission is also associated with dietary energy lose; hence, reduce feed efficiency. Due to the negative environmental impacts, methane mitigation has come forward in last few decades. To date numerous efforts were made in order to reduce methane emission from ruminants. No table mitigation approaches are rumen manipulation, alteration of rumen fermentation, modification of rumen microbial biodiversity by different means and rarely by animal manipulations. However, a comprehensive exploration for a sustainable methane mitigation approach is still lacking. Dietary modification is directly linked to changes in the rumen fermentation pattern and types of end products. Studies showed that changing fermentation pattern is one of the most effective ways of methane abatement. Desirable dietary changes provide two fold benefits i.e. improve production and reduce GHG emissions. Therefore, the aim of this review is to discuss biology of methane emission from ruminants and its mitigation through dietary manipulation.

  • In a two-way contingency table, the analyst is most interested in the hypotheses of either homogeneity or independence. For testing this as a null hypothesis, Pearson's ${\chi}^2$ statistic is most commonly used in practice. Once the null Hypothesis is rejected, he will further search forcells which caused the rejection of the null hypothesis. For this purpose, so called cell${\chi}^2$ components are used. In this paper, we derive the influence function of an obsevation to the ${\chi}^2$ statistic, with which cells with high influence can be identified.

A new way to design and construct a laminar box for studying structure-foundation-soil interaction

  • This paper describes the construction of a laminar box for simulating the earthquake response of soil and structures. The confinement of soil in the transverse direction does not rely on the laminar frame but is instead achieved by two acrylic glass walls. These walls allow the behaviour of soil during an earthquake to be directly observed in future study. The laminar box was used to study the response of soil with structure-footing-soil interaction (SFSI). A single degree-of-freedom (SDOF) structure and a rigid structure, both free standing on the soil, were utilised. The total mass and footing size of the SDOF and rigid structures were the same. The results show that SFSI considering the SDOF structure can affect the soil surface movements and acceleration of the soil at different depths. The acceleration developed at the footing of the SDOF structure is also different from the surface acceleration of free-field soil.

  • The necessity and the importance of the remanufacturing are increasing day by day along with environmental problems. Many studies are being conducted on remanufacturing, but the research for cleaning is much lacking. This study aims to evaluate the effective cleaning method for remanufacturing of start motors, one of the automobile parts. The cleaning process consists of oil stain removal, drying and rust removal processes. In this study, the two processes were conducted except for the drying process which has little influence on cleaning. The methodology for cleaning agent selection, degreasing and rust removal process was presented. For each methodology, five analysis factors were calculated by two-way comparison according to the process, and the values were evaluated quantitatively by substituting them into the evaluation table. In the selection of cleaning agent, neutral system, ultrasonic cleaning in degreasing, and grinding in rust removal were selected as the best cleaning methods.

  • In this study, a scheme of ramp metering that uses Off-ramp Exit Percentage instead of the O/D table required for systems of integrated control of ramps at the target freeway segment is presented. The segment from Gyeyang IC to Jangsu IC on the Seoul Outer Ring Expressway was selected for the study because the segment frequently shows large volume of traffic on the short distance between the two ICs requiring an integrated on-ramp control by taking the traffic situation on an entire expressway into account despite an unavailability of O/D data. Thus the information of Off-ramp Exit Percentage at each IC were collected instead of securing the O/D table through actual survey, and the congestion on the segment was analyzed to identify the validity of the use of off-ramp traffic instead of O/D data. In addition, the scheme of ramp metering that exploits the off-ramp traffic information was prepared through simulations conducted in a way supporting the traffic control for respective access roads thereof by taking traffic situations and queues on each ramp into account. The results obtained from the simulation analyses revealed an improved level of travel speed and traffic volume on the main line and validated the use of off-ramp traffic instead of the O/D table for the ramp metering.

Transportation Network Data Generation from the Topological Geographic Database (GIS위상구조자료로부터 교통망자료의 추출에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents three methods of generating the transportation network data out of the topological geographic database in the hope that the conversion of the geographic database file containing the topology to the conventional node-link type trans¬portation network file may facilitate the integration between transportation planning mod¬els and GIS by alleviating the inherent problems of both computing environments. One way of the proposed conversion method is to use the conversion software that allows the bi-directional conversion between the UTPS (Urban Transportation Planning System) type transportation planning model and GIS. The other two methods of data structure conversion approach directly transform the GIS's user-level topology into the transportation network data topology, and have been introduced with codes programmed with FORTRAN and AML (Arc Macro Language) of ARC/INFO. If used successfully, any approach would not only improve the efficiency of transportation planning process and the associated decision-making activities in it, but enhance the productivity of trans¬portation planning agencies.

  • Vibration test on MAST(multi axial simulation table) system has several advantage over one-axial vibration test that could simulate 6-DOF, 3-axial translation and 3-axial moment, at the same time. Since field vibration motion can be fully represented with 6-DOF, multi-axial vibration test on vehicle component is widely conducted in technical leading companies to make sure its fatigue performance in vibration environment. On the way to fulfill the process, editing technique of obtained field data is key issue to success a reliable vibration testing with MAST system. Since the original signals are not only too large to fulfill it directly, but all of the measured data is not guarantee its convergency on generating its driving files, editing technique of the original signals are highly required to make some events that should meet the equal fatigue damage on the target component In this paper, key technique on editing a field data feasible for MAST system is described based on energy method in vibration fatigue. To explain its technique explicitly, author first introduced a process on field data acquisition of two vehicle component and then, representing events are produced to keep up with the editing strategy about a energy method. In the final chapter, a time information regarding a vibration test on MAST system is derived from the energy data which is critical information to perform a vibration test.
