This study was conducted to find out the weak points of present Korean food composition table, so that to suggest the revision direction. Korean food composition table in Appendix of Recommended Dietary Allowances for Korean, 5th edition, was analyzed by comparing with 6 other food composition tables such as one other Korean food composition table, and those of Japan(two), U.S.A., East Asia and Near East. The content analysis was applied as the method of this study. As result, many drawbacks like classification of food components, etc. were pointed out. The best solution to improve these drawbacks in present food composition table is establishing on organization entirely in charge of food composition table. In this way the organization can carry out food analysis systematically and continuously. Then new food items can be added, old food items be eliminated based upon people's food consumption pattern change. Also we need to analyze our own foods consumed by our people instead of borrowing the other country's data.

We consider a Bayesian test of independence in a two-way contingency table that has some zero cells. To do this, we take a three-stage hierarchical Bayesian model under each hypothesis. For prior, we use Dirichlet density to model the marginal cell and each cell probabilities. Our method does not require complicated computation such as a Metropolis-Hastings algorithm to draw samples from each posterior density of parameters. We draw samples using a Gibbs sampler with a grid method. For complicated posterior formulas, we apply the Monte-Carlo integration and the sampling important resampling algorithm. We compare the values of the Bayes factor with the results of a chi-square test and the likelihood ratio test.

Many surveys provide categorical data and there may be one or more missing categories. We describe a nonignorable nonresponse model for the analysis of two-way contingency tables from small areas. There are both item and unit nonresponse. One approach to analyze these data is to construct several tables corresponding to missing categories. We describe a hierarchical Bayesian model to analyze two-way categorical data from different areas. This allows a "borrowing of strength" of the data from larger areas to improve the reliability in the estimates of the model parameters corresponding to the small areas. Also we use a nonignorable nonresponse model with Bayesian uncertainty analysis by placing priors in nonidentifiable parameters instead of a sensitivity analysis for nonidentifiable parameters. We use the griddy Gibbs sampler to fit our models and compute DIC and BPP for model diagnostics. We illustrate our method using data from NHANES III data on thirteen states to obtain the finite population proportions.

TIn this paper, we propose a high performance L1 cache structure on the high clock CPU of 4GHz. The proposed cache memory consists of three parts, i.e., a direct-mapped cache to support fast access time, a two-way set associative buffer to exploit temporal locality, and a buffer-select table. The most recently accessed data is stored in the direct-mapped cache. If a data has a high probability of a repeated reference, when the data is replaced from the direct-mapped cache, the data is selectively stored into the two-way set associative buffer. For the high performance and low power consumption, we propose an one way among two ways set associative buffer is selectively accessed based on the buffer-select table(BST). According to simulation results, Energy $^*$ Delay product can improve about 45%, 70% and 75% compared with a direct mapped cache, a four-way set associative cache, and a victim cache with two times more space respectively.
Generation methods of data cube have been studied for many years in data warehouse which supports decision making using stored data. There are two previous studies, one is multi-way array algorithm and the other is H-cubing algorithm which is based on the hyper-tree. The multi-way array algorithm stores all aggregation data in arrays, so if the base data is increased, the size of memory is also grow. The H-cubing algorithm which is based on the hyper-tree stores all tuples in one tree so the construction cost is increased. In this paper, we present an efficient data cube generation method based on hash table using weight mapping table and record hash table. Because the proposed method uses a hash table, the generation cost of data cube is decreased and the memory usage is also decreased. In the performance study, we shows that the proposed method provides faster search operation time and make data cube generation operate more efficiently.
Chi-square test based on large sample theory is inappropriate for testing the row homogeneity in two-way contingency table with several sparse cells. For that case, exact testing methods has been developed in the literature and implemented in StatXact(1991). However, considerable computing time is inevitable for moderate size tables. So, Monte Carlo approximation is recommended frequently. In this study, we propose a simple algorithm for generating two-way random tables with fixed row and column margins for small sample chi-square test. Also, we develop “Turkey-type” method for multiple between-row comparisons.

In this paper, a two-way tuned liquid mass damper(TLMD) using a tuned liquid column damper(TLCD) and a rubber-bearing-type tuned mass damper(TMD) was manufactured for controlling two-way direction acceleration responses of a high-rise building structure. The proposed controlling device behaves as a tuned liquid column damper in one direction and as a tuned mass damper in the other direction. In this study, Performance evaluation of the downscaled model is conducted. The results show that the two-way controllability is behaved independently each other and realscale TLMD applicable to the high-rise building can be designed.
Multi-way spatial join is a nested expression of two or more spatial joins. It costs much to process multi-way spatial join, but there have not still reported the scheme of parallel processing of multi-way spatial join. In this paper, parallel processing of multi-way spatial join consists of parallel multi-way spatial filter and parallel spatial refinement. Parallel spatial refinement is executed by the following two steps. The first is the generation of a graph used for reducing duplication of both spatial objects and spatial operations from pairs candidate object table that are the results of multi-way spatial filter. The second is the parallel spatial refinement using that graph. Refinement using the graph is proved to be more efficient than the others. In task creation for parallel refinement, minimum duplication partitioning of the Spatial_Obicct_On_Node graph shows best performance.
The most effective way to distinguish subsurface interfaces that produce various geophysical responses is through the integration of multiple geophysical methods, with each method detecting both a complementary and unique set of distinct physical properties relating to the subsurface. In this study, shallow seismic reflection (SSR) and ground penetrating radar (GPR) surveys were conducted at the Cheongju-Gadeok site of the Korea National Groundwater Monitoring Network to map the water table, which was measured at 12 m depth during the geophysical surveys. The water table proved to be a good target reflector in both datasets, as the abrupt transition from the overlying unsaturated weathered rock to the underlying saturated weathered rock yielded large acoustic impedance and dielectric constant contrasts. The two datasets were depth converted and integrated into a single section, with the SSR and GPR surveys conducted to ensure subsurface imaging at approximately the same wavelength. The GPR data provided detailed information on the upper ~15 m of the section, whereas the SSR data imaged structures at depths of 10-45 m. The integrated section thus captured the full depth coverage of the sandy clay, water table, weathered rock, soft rock, and hard rock structures, which correlated well with local drillcore and water table observations. Incorporation of these two geophysical datasets yielded a synthetic section that resembled a simplified aquifer model, with the best-fitting seismic velocity, dielectric constant, and porosity of the saturated weathered layer being $v_{seismic}=1000m/s$, ${\varepsilon}_r=16$, and ${\phi}=0.32$, respectively.
The aim of this study was to analyze characteristics of teachers' knowledge about correlation with data presented in $2{\times}2$ tables. In order to achieve the aim, this study conducted didactical analysis about two-way tables through examining previous researches and developed a questionnaire with reference to the results of the analysis. The questionnaire was given to 53 middle and high school teachers and qualitative methods were used to analyze the data obtained from the written responses by the participants. This study also elaborated the framework descriptors for interpreting the teachers' responses in the light of the didactical analysis and the data was elucidated in terms of this framework. The specific features of teachers' knowledge about correlation with data presented in $2{\times}2$ tables were categorized into three types as a result. This study raised several implications for teachers' professional development for effective mathematics instruction about correlation and related concepts dealt with in probability and statistics.
