The vibration, which often occurred in a two inertia motor system, makes it difficult to achieve a quick response of speed and disturbance rejection. This paper provides an autonomous pole assignment technique for three kinds of speed controllers (I-P, I-PD, and State feedback) using GAs(Genetic Algorithms) for a two-inertia motor system. Firstly, the optimal parameters are chosen using GAs in view of reducing overshoot and settling time, then those are used in computing the gains of each controller. Some simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed design. The proposed controller is expected to be the autonomous design way for controlling a two-inertia motor system with flexible shaft.

In 3 phase induction motor control system, the speed control using the load torque observer becomes robust against disturbances by means of a feed-forward control of the estimated load torque component. In case of variation of inertia moment, the estimated load torque has error because the observer uses the nominal inertia to estimate the load torque. And so, it is difficult to obtain good speed control characteristics. This paper has two study target strategy. First, we executes feed-forward control with the load torque observer when motor inertia has nominal value and compare it with conventional PI con¬trol. The second strategy estimates inertia moment error using the load torque observer when inertia moment change. The proposed two strategy is confirmed through the computer simulations and the experimental implementations by TMS320C31 microprocessor.

In a two-inertia motor system with flexible shaft, a torsional vibration is often generated as a quick speed response is required. This vibration makes it difficult to achieve a quick response of speed and disturbance rejection. The objective of this paper is to provide a systematic analysis and design of the three kinds of speed controllers such as I-P, I-PD, and state feedback control by using the weighted ITAE performance index. Some simulation and experiment results verify the effectiveness of the proposed design.
In this paper a novel estimation algorithm of mechanical parameters in two-mass system is proposed. The inertia of a load and a motor and the stiffness are estimated by using RLS (Recursive Least Square) algorithm and acceleration information of motor. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified with simulation and experiments results.

A 2-axis gimbal system is one of main disturbance sources affecting on image jitter response of a satellite. The gimbal system can be rotated on its azimuth and elevation axes, resulting in variation of its moment of inertia and structural modes, so that generates non-linear vibration characteristics. In order to estimate the jitter response, it is an indispensable process to characterize micro-vibration disturbance of the 2-axis gimbal system. In the present research, the vibration characteristics of the 2-axis gimbal system was investigated with respect to the types of stepping motors. The micro-vibration tests were performed for 2-phase and 5-phase stepping motors. The test results show that the disturbance can be reduced with vibration attenuation ratio of 60% by replacing the 2-phase stepping motor with the 5-phase one.

A torque transmission system composed of several gears and couplings is flexible. In order to get an exact response of motor, the torsional vibration due to an unexpected change of motor speed must be suppressed. Therefore, it is very important that motor control suppress vibration. Various methods to control it including dual inertia system are proposed. Specially, the method of vibration suppression is that vibration can be suppressed to fee㏈ack the estimated torsion torque via the disturbance observer filter being of normal filter. The suitable Proportional controller and coefficient parameter can be designed using CDM and the torsional vibration also be suppressed, but it has a low degree of adaptability to disturbance. The PID controller can be designed easily, but makes the excessive overshoot and oscillation for system response in the early period. To resolve these problems, simple and practical PID controller with two degree of freedom is proposed recently that it ran improve performance of obeying the reference unconcerned in any disturbance by changing the proportional gain by two degree of freedom parameter. But it has also the defect that parameter a must be changed to obtain the ideal Proportional parameter. On this paper, we design the controller which automatically adjusts parameter u using fuzzy Algorithm to overcome such defects. Also, we compare the proposed method with established one and evaluate them to confirm performance of the designed controller.

In this paper, a uniform speed controller for an ultrasonic rotary motor is developed using the phase-difference method. The phase difference method uses traveling waves to drive the ultrasonic motor. The traveling waves are obtained by adding two standing waves that have a different phase to each other. A compact phase-difference driver system is designed and integrated by combining VCO(Voltage Controlled Oscillator) and phase shifter. Theoretically the relationship between the phase difference in time and the rotational speed of the ultrasonic motor is sine function, which is verified by experiments. Then a series of experiments under various loading conditions are conducted to characterize the motor's performance that is the relationship between the speed and torque. Proportional-integral control is adopted for the uniform speed control. The proportional control unit calculates the compensating phase-difference using the rotating speed which is measured by an encoder and fed back. Integral control is used to eliminate steady-state errors. Differential control for reducing overshoot is not used since the response of ultrasonic motor is prompt due to its low inertia and friction-driving characteristics. The developed controller demonstrates reasonable performance overcoming disturbing torque and the changes in material properties due to continuous usage.

The objective of this study is to develop an automatic object changer unit to improve processing problems existed in the conventional horizontal machining center. To achieve this goal, this study designed a horizontal transfer as the second project continued to the first project that designed a upward and downward traverse unit. A horizontal traverse unit shows a symmetric structure and consists of frame, which consists of four unit tools, motor and reducer, which are fixed at a frame, operation unit with pinions, first traverse unit, and second traverse unit. Constraint conditions based on the operation mechanism with these elements were configured and obtained following results after modeling a model for a traverse motor. In the kinematic expression of sliding motion with one degree of freedom, the sliding motion is constrained. Also, the rack 3 installed at a frame is used to configure possible kinematic constraint conditions of the rack 2 according to the rolling motion of the pinion 2 in the first traverse unit. In addition, the moment of inertia that is a type of kinetic energy in a converted horizontal traverse unit in the side of the reducer can be applied to introduce the moment of inertia of a converted horizontal traverse unit in the side of the reducer by using the sum of kinetic energy in the rack and pinion, which is a part of the horizontal traverse unit. Also, the equation of motion of the converted upward and downward traverse unit in the side of the motor using the equation of motion of the motor. Furthermore, the horizontal traverse unit predetermines the mass of the first and second traverse unit and applied load including the radius and reduction ratio of the pitch circle in the pinion 1 and applied load to the rack 2. Then, a proper motor can be determined using several parameters in the upward and downward traverse unit in order to verify such predetermined specifications. In future studies later this study, a simulation that verifies the results of the previous two stages of studies using a finite element method.
