  • What is radical constructivism There were many questions arose related with radical constructivism in mathematics education. In this paper, the author put seven frequentlyasked questions on radical constructivism and described each question one by one in light with constructivists' point of views. The questions included types of constructivista, radical constructivism, trivial or weak constructivism, and social constructivism; representative people in radical constructivism; matter of ontological reality; evaluation of others' work; shared meaning; social influence; and teacher's roles from the perspectives of radical constructivism. The author added his opinions ell each Question.

무법으로 태어나 준법을 거쳐 위법으로 성장하는 이유? ( Why do children loose their compliance with the law as they grow?)

  • 본 논문은 현재 우리사회에서 문제가 대두되고 있는 준법의식의 약화에 대한 설명과 관련될 수 있는 다양한 관점의 심리학적 이론들 비교분석하고, 특히 준법의식 약화에서 인지부조화 기제의 역할에 대한 이론적 실증적 연구들을 개관요약하였다. 이를 위해 범죄의 현상과 원인을 설명하는 고전이론, 유전학과 생물학적 이론과 정신분석학, 성격이론, 지능/도덕성 발달, 의사결정이론 과 같은 심리학적 이론들의 특성과 준법과 위법행동의 다양한 측면을 통합적으로 비교하였다. 이런 이론들이 현재의 범죄행동에 대한 설명을 제공하는데 초점을 맞춘다면, 사회학습이론과 인지부조화 이론은 직간접의 경험을 통한 준법의식의 변화에 대한 설명을 제공해 주고 있다. 특히 과거의 위법행동이 준법의식과 인지부조화와 부정적 각성을 일으키고, 이 각성을 없애기 위한 준법의식의 변화시킨다는 인지부조화적 관점은 사소한 법규위반이 낮아지는 준법의식의 부분적 원인이라는 것이 일련의 연구들을 통해 검증 되었다. 이런 인지부조화의 이론적 틀이 법률입안과 정책제안에 제안하는 시사점들을 논의하였다.

Early Access to COVID-19 Vaccines and Rodrigo Duterte-style Vaccine Diplomacy

  • Vaccine nationalism and its implications to vaccine supply were a huge concern globally when COVID-19 vaccines first became available in 2021. At the time, vaccine supply was limited and it was difficult for many countries around the world to get adequate supply of the COVID-19 vaccine to inoculate their people. At its most benign, vaccine nationalism delayed the access of poorer countries to vaccines that are widely considered as the long-term solution to the COVID-19 pandemic. Poorer countries needed to resort to diplomacy to wrangle early access to vaccine supply from vaccine-producing countries like the United States, the United Kingdom and others. In particular, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte leveraged his country's Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) with the United States and the need for Filipino nurses by countries like the United Kingdom and Germany to secure early access to COVID-19 vaccines. It all seems trivial now (in 2022) because of better global vaccine supply, but in 2021 when countries scrambled for access to scarce COVID-19 vaccines, Rodrigo Duterte leveraged the Philippines' assets to gain early access to vaccine supply.

서사의 방법과 역사극의 새로운 방향 - <왕세자 실종사건>을 중심으로 - (A study on the method of narrative in the new trend of historical drama)

  • 이 논문의 목적은 새로운 역사극의 등장과 더불어 연극에서는 이러한 현상이 어떻게 나타나는지를 살펴보는데 있다. 통시적으로 역사극의 변화를 살펴보면 새로운 역사적 해석들이 항상 등장했지만 최근 들어 해석의 새로움을 넘어서 역사적 사실을 중요하게 여기지 않는 지점까지 확장되는 경향이 발견된다. 이 논문은 그러한 경향의 연장선에서 <왕세자 실종사건>이란 작품을 통해 최근 역사극의 새로운 흐름을 구체적으로 살펴보려고 하였다. 이러한 새로운 역사극의 흐름은 후기구조주의 역사관, 미시사의 등장과 더불어 더욱 잘 설명될 수 있다. 미시사에서는 작은 개인의 역할이 중요한데 <왕세자 실종사건>에서도 역시 이러한 측면이 발견되며 이 작품에서는 작은 개인이 거대 담론을 전복하기도 한다. 또한 이 작품에는 독특한 시간관이 등장하는데 이는 불연속적 시간의 재구방식을 살펴봄으로써 설명이 가능해진다. 역사극에 멜로나 추리 등의 다른 장르가 섞이는 현상은 영화나 소설에서도 드러나는 바인데 <왕세자 실종사건>에서도 예외는 아니다. 그러나 연극만의 특징은 여전히 유효하며 이미지극이라는 형식의 차용은 새로운 역사극을 참신하게 부각시켜 주는 방법이 되기도 한다.

미얀마 카렌족(Karen)의 종족정체성에 관한 시론적 연구 (A Preliminary Study on the Ethnic Identities of the Karen People in Myanmar)

  • The diversity of Southeast Asia can be also represented at the tremendous number of ethnic groups residing throughout its various regions even beyond national boundaries. What does it mean by the composite of numerous peoples? It has triggered a lot of problems in a nation or overall Southeast Asia. Among them, the most serious one seems to be ethnic conflicts having damaged national integration and caused political, economical, and social instability. In that respect, Karen people have been a minority group situated in the most chronic dispute in Myanmar. Since 1947 some of the Karen equipped with armed forces have been fighting against the military government currently ruling Myanmar. As the result, the refugees over 200,000 population had moved to the mountain camps located at neighboring Thailand, attracting a lot of attention throughout international societies. According to 1931 census by British colonial government, the Karen have the greatest numbers in population as minority and include 16 subgroups including Karenni(Kayah) and Pa-O seemingly excluded from its category in contemporary point of view. It means that Karen people should not be regarded as an ethnic group, and in fact do not show a homogeneous identity under the title of Karen. Given the situation, we need to reconsider the category of Karen. What does the Karen mean in a real sense? Previous studies on the Karen had been performed mainly by anthropologists or missionaries such as Marshall(1922), Hamilton (1976), Hanson Tadaw(1959), Smeaton(1920), Keyes(1979), Hayami (1992; 2004), etc. Most of them examined the Karen as a group and ignored the possibilities of representing the divergent identities vis-à-vis their subgroups. Therefore, they have focused on the myth to convert Karen people to Christianity, although the Christian Karens are less than 20% of total population. As a result, I argue that they would fail to define the real meaning of Karen. It has been caused us to recognize the Karen as a meaningless total entity to be accepted by all means. According to their arguments, the difference among Karen's subgroups is just dealt with the trivial matters that do not affect the ethnic boundary itself, still maintaining the ethnic identity as Karen. As we shall see on this thesis, this is never the case. My thesis aims at uncovering and scrutinizing the real meaning of the category of Karen. For the purpose of it, I will consider Karen people as a linguistic group from the beginning as shown in 1931 census. I argue that the Karen have been affected or exposed by various conditions or environments throughout the harsh history having happened on the areas of current Myanmar and Thailand, leading the vicissitudes of their ethnic identities.

결혼준비교육 프로그램의 분석 (An Analysis of the Premarital Preparation Education Program)

  • Today, the Korean society is experiencing an increase in serious problems, such as child abuse, unmarried mothers, single mothers, which cannot be overlooked as simply trivial family matters. The increase in these problems is caused by the rapid change that has taken place within our society, which has emasculated the power of our traditional values and behavior patterns to cope with contemporary life styles. Premarital Preparation Education is starting to gain attention as a preventive measure that can overcome this serious family crisis. Although the importance of the Premarital Preparation Education program cannot be overemphasized, there are only few cases where engaged couples and unmarried men and women are exposed to this type of program and actually experience its benefits. In other words, there is an urgent need to revitalize and increase the effects of the Premarital Preparation Education Program. This research was conducted in order to find a way to revitalize and to increase the effects of the program, so that more and more people can participate and receive benefits from it. First, we have analyzed the program's contents and the current condition on how the program is actually conducted. Then we have compared real case examples of the program and analyzed the current situation and its problems.

Who Would Care for Post-Imperial Broken Society?: Harold Pinter's The Caretaker

  • An analogical reading of socio-historical context of Harold Pinter's The Caretaker employs some postcolonial discursive analyses of postimperial British capitalistic interests in their post war reconstruction. It is also concerned with causes of so-called broken society. The Caretaker dramatizes minimal actions: a tramp is invited by the elder brother; a job as caretaker is offered; he is reluctant to accept the first offer by the elder brother, but is willing to the second by the younger; eventually, he is excluded because he makes noises while dreaming. These trivial actions produce serious and critical speech acts with their socio-historical implications. The tramp Davies is socially and thereby existentially excluded from the centre of the cold, banished to even colder peripheries. The audience face to the question. Why is Davies excluded? This study tries to answer the question, uncovering deep-rooted capitalistic racism, and reading its symptoms. Even after 50 years The Caretaker was staged, post-imperial broken society tries to operate the betrayals of disparity between the cause and effect of what has gone wrong. Pinter confirms that the action of the play takes place in a house in west London. With the city of London as its capitalistic centre, British imperialism lavished much of its wealth which has only served sectional interests dividing people against themselves. Pinter dramatizes the root of broken society. On the one hand, Pinter foregrounds the very general conflicts between individuals and forms of power; on the other hand, he underlies the very specific strategies of socio-historical exploitation, domination and exclusion.

패션명품 광고에 나타난 사회문화적 의미 -여성 이미지를 중심으로- (Socio-cultural Meanings in Advertisement of Fashion Luxury Products -Focused on Women`s Images-)

  • Fashion luxury products, which used to mean high-quality, handcrafted not-so-trendy items, are nowadays regarded as expensive fashion merchandise produced under the name of imported well-known brands. People cunsuming fashion luxury products distinguish themselves from other people according to the luxury fashion brands they are using, and as a result, advertisements of fashion luxury products are taken as a kind of international language. The purpose of this study is to point out the socio-cultural meanings of consuming fashion luxury products, by analyzing images shown in advertisements of fashion luxury products focusing on women's images. To do so, this study is based on general theoretical background on fashion, consumer culture advertising and analysis advertisements of fashion luxury products shown in fashion magazines in recent three years. The result of this study is as follows; The images of the advertisements of fashion luxury products could be categorized as (1) elegance, (2) kitsch and (3) fetish. Elegance is a taste of high society, aesthetically chic and feminine. Fashion luxury products, which are merchandise of extravagance, dignity, refinement, feminity and harmony, exhibit high-quality grace through their advertisements. Kitsch represents the vulgar and popular images of trivial commodities of industrial society. In the advertisement of fashion luxury product, it is shown as inappropriateness, excessiveness, stereotyped pleasantness, exaggeration an playful satisfaction. Finally, fetish images represent erotic or perverted sexuality, based on psychoanalytic fetishism which objects are regarded s substitute of sexual orgasm. The advertisements of fashion luxury product are characterized as (1) popularization of luxury, (2) objectification of sex and body, and (3) re-aestetification of anti-aesthetics. The asvertisements of fashion luxury products are actually targeted to the middle class with successful career women's images. They objectify female bodies through fetishistic images. Also, the deviant subcultural style, represented a new kind of cultural capital, is now reproduced as a new commodity aesthetics.

  • 본 연구는 공공기록의 전통적인 수집 프로세스에서 벗어나 일상기록의 수집과 소통의 방안으로서 소셜 미디어 플랫폼을 기반으로 한 '소셜 아카이브'를 제안하였다. 소셜 아카이브는 다양한 사람이 모여 소통하고, 공유할 수 있는 '광장'을 지향한다. '기록'을 매개체로 일상을 기록할 수 있는 공간으로서 다양한 분야에 기초 연구의 기반을 제공하는 것을 목표로 하며, 연구자와 연구자, 연구자와 생산자 등 다양한 이용자 간의 소통 공간으로 기능하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 기존 선행 연구를 중심으로 일상 아카이브 구축 시 고려해야 할 사항을 '패러다임 변화에 따른 창의적인 방법론', '유관기관과의 네트워크 구축', '연구자를 위한 서비스', '지속성을 위한 유지방안'으로 정리하고, 소셜미디어의 특성을 중심으로 소셜 아카이브 플랫폼으로서 소셜미디어의 가능성을 논하였다. 마지막으로 사용자 경험 디자인 프로세스를 살펴보면서 소셜 아카이브의 일부 기능을 설계하고, UX 디자인 과정에서 고려해야할 사항을 제시하였다.

  • Patricia Waugh once regarded modernism fiction as 'the struggle for personal autonomy' against the opposition existing social institutions and conventions. Michael Cunningham's characterizations of Virginia Woolf and Septimus in The Hours show the two contrasting reactions to individual alienation and mental dissolution in the modern era. As the personifications of endurance and self-destruction against the mechanical power of contemporary world, Woolf and Septimus consist of just the world of diptych where the woman's role is confined to the angel in the house. By creating Mrs. Brown based upon his own alienated mother image, however, Cunningham succeeds in representing the more dramatically vivid world of triptych where woman can have her own room and self-realization despite still facing the dilemma of the traditional family. Accepting Joycean Bloom's optimistic and relaxing way of life in part, Mrs. Brown connects the labyrinths between the author's (and also Richard's) alienation with the theme of celebration of the life. Clarissa in postmodern New York setting is still a concealed and mystified character. Similar to Mrs. Dalloway, on the one hand Clarissa watches other people's tragedy with compassion. Cunningham's Clarissa, on the other hand, is no longer seeking for either winning or defeat in the spectacular world unlike her predecessors. In many resilient attitudes of everyday life Clarissa is closest to Mrs. Brown whom Virginia Woolf originally hopes to describe. Without any fear or rage toward the society Clarissa witnesses and achieves "the humanity, humour, depth" of female values by successfully turning the trivial life into an epic journey.
