Endovascular Treatments Performed Collaboratively by the Society of Korean Endovascular Neurosurgeons Members : A Nationwide Multicenter Survey

  • Objective : Since less invasive endovascular treatment was introduced to South Korea in 1994, a considerable proportion of endovascular treatments have been performed by neuroradiology doctors, and endovascular treatments by vascular neurosurgeons have recently increased. However, few specific statistics are known regarding how many endovascular treatments are performed by neurosurgeons. Thus, authors compared endovascular treatments collaboratively performed by vascular neurosurgeons with all cases throughout South Korea from 2013 to 2017 to elucidate the role of neurosurgeons in the field of endovascular treatment in South Korea. Methods : The Society of Korean Endovascular Neurosurgeons (SKEN) has issued annual reports every year since 2014. These reports cover statistics on endovascular treatments collaboratively or individually performed by SKEN members from 2013 to 2017. The data was requested and collected from vascular neurosurgeons in various hospitals. The study involved 77 hospitals in its first year, and 100 in its last. National statistics on endovascular treatment from all over South Korea were obtained from the Healthcare Bigdata Hub website of the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service based on the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) codes (in the case of intra-arterial (IA) thrombolysis, however, statistics were based on a combination of the EDI and I63 codes, a cerebral infarction disease code) from 2013 to 2017. These two data sets were directly compared and the ratios were obtained. Results : Regionally, during the entire study period, endovascular treatments by SKEN members were most common in Gyeonggido, followed by Seoul and Busan. Among the endovascular treatments, conventional cerebral angiography was the most common, followed by cerebral aneurysmal coiling, endovascular treatments for ischemic stroke, and finally endovascular treatments for vascular malformation and tumor embolization. The number of endovascular treatments performed by SKEN members increased every year. Conclusion : The SKEN members have been responsible for the major role of endovascular treatments in South Korea for the recent 5 years. This was achieved through the perseverance of senior members who started out in the midst of hardship, the establishment of standards for the training/certification of endovascular neurosurgery, and the enthusiasm of current SKEN members who followed. To provide better treatment to patients, we will have to make further progress in SKEN.

사료 중 단백질 수준 및 CLA(Conjugated Linoleic Acid) 첨가가 비육돈의 생산성 및 육질특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Dietary Protein Level and Supplementation of Conjugated Linoleic Acid on Growth Performance and Meat Quality Parameters in Finishing Pigs)

  • 본 연구에서는 비육돈 사료내 조단백질 및 CLA 수준과 그들간의 상호작용이 성장 및 육질특성에 미치는 효과를 구명하기 위하여 수행하였다. 공시동물은 일령이 비슷하고 체중이 79±1kg되는 3원교잡종 48두를 공시하였다. 처리구는 시료 중 조단백질 함량 2수준(11.3%, 16.0%)과 CLA 함량 2수준(0%, 2.5%)의 2×2 요인실험으로, 처리당 4반복, 반복당 3두씩 완전임의 배치하였다. 종료체중(P<0.05)과 일당증체량(P<0.01)은 조단백질 11.3% 급여구가 16.0% 급여구에 비해 유의적으로 낮았으며, 사료요구율(feed/gain, P< 0.01)은 조단백질 11.3% 급여구가 16.0% 급여구에 비해 유의적으로 높았다. 도체중량은 조단백질 11.3% 급여구가 16.0% 급여구에 비해(P<0.001), CLA 2.5% 첨가구가 CLA 무첨가구에 비해(P<0.01) 유의적으로 낮았다. 조단백질 11.3% 첨가구에서는 CLA의 첨가가 도체중량에 영향을 미치지 않았으나, 조단백질 16.0% 첨가구에서는 CLA 2.5% 첨가 시 도체중량이 유의적으로 감소하여, 조단백질과 CLA간 상호작용이 나타났다(P<0.01). 등지방두께는 조단백질 11.3% 급여구가 16.0% 급여구에 비해, CLA 2.5% 첨가구가 CLA 무첨가구에 비해 유의적으로 낮았다(P<0.05). 조단백질 11.3% 첨가구에서는 CLA의 첨가가 등지방두께에 영향을 미치지 않았으나, 조단백질 16.0% 첨가구에서는 CLA 2.5% 첨가 시 등지방두께가 유의적으로 감소하여, 조단백질과 CLA간 상호작용이 나타났다(P<0.001). 상강도(marbling score) 및 근내지방(intramuscular fat) 함량은 조단백질 11.3% 수준의 사료를 섭취한 시험구가 조단백질 16.0% 수준의 사료를 섭취한 시험구보다 유의적으로 높았다(P<0.01). 결론적으로 비육후기에 저 단백질 사료 급여로 등지방은 얇으면서 기호성이 높은 고 상강도의 돈육생산이 가능할 것으로 사료된다. 한편 정상적인 수준의 조단백질 사료 급여 시 CLA의 첨가로 등지방두께를 낮출 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

노측 가드레일용 단부처리시설 성능평가기준 정립 및 개발 (A Study on Development & Establishment of Performance Evaluation Criteria for Guardrail End Treatments)

  • 국내에 설치되고 있는 가드레일의 단부처리시설(end treatments)은 차량의 관통이나 전복을 유발할 수 있는 형상을 하고 있어 사고 시 탑승자가치명상을 입을 가능성이 매우 높다. 실제로 차량이 가드레일의 단부에 충돌하였을 경우, 가드레일이 차량내부를 관통하여 탑승자에게 직접적인 상해를 입히는 경우가 발생되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 미국과 유럽의 성능평가기준(performance evaluation criteria)에 근거하여 국내 실정에 적합한 단부처리시설에 관한 성능평가기준(안)을 제시하였다. 또한 외국의 설치사례 및 연구사례를 조사하여 단부처리시설의 mechanism을 파악하고 국내 도로환경 에 적합한 단부처리시설을 제안하였다. LS-DYNA 프로그램을 이용한 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 단부처 리시설에 대한 성능을 검증한 결과 성능평가기준(안)에 모두 만족한 결과를 보였으며, 개발 단부처리시설에 대한 실물차량 충돌시험을 수행한 결과 성능평가기준(안)의 탑승자 보호성능, 단부처리시설의 거동, 충돌 후 차량의 거동을 모두 만족하였다. 국내 최초로 탑승자의 안전을 고려하여 개발된 단부처리시설이 고속도로나 국도에 설치된다면 단부충돌사고의 심각성을 감소시켜 도로의 안전성을 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

단감 '부유'의 과실 비대와 착색에 대한 결박 처리 영향 (Effects of Binding Treatment of Branch on Fruit Enlargement and Coloring of 'Fuyu' Persimmon Fruits)

  • 단감 '부유'를 대상으로 과실 비대 및 착색 증진에 위한 결박 처리 시 가지 종류에 따른 효과를 비교하고자 결과모지, 부주지 및 주지에 철사를 이용하여 결박 처리하였다. 철사 제거 직후 6주 동안 과실 직경과 과피색 a값은 무처리에 비해 결과모지 및 주지 결박처리에서 더 많이 증가하였지만 부주지 결박처리에서는 효과를 나타내지 않았다. 결박 처리 8주 후 수확된 과실을 처리하지 않은 과실과 비교하면, 과중은 모든 결박처리에서 더 무거웠는데 특히, 주지 결박처리에서는 월등히 무거웠다. 과고는 주지 결박처리에서만 더 높았고, 과경은 결과모지 및 주지 결박처리에서 더 길었다. 과실 당도는 결과모지 및 부주지 결박처리에서 다소 높거나 비슷하였으나, 주지 결박처리에서는 낮게 나타났다. 과피색 a값은 결과모지 및 주지 결박처리에서 유의하게 높았지만, 이와 반대로 과피색 b값은 낮게 나타남으로써 Chroma값은 결과모지 및 부주지 결박처리에서 높게 나타났다. 과피 내 라이코펜 및 베타카로틴 함량은 부주지 및 주지 결박처리에서 유의하게 높게 나타났지만, 결과모지 결박처리에서는 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 총 엽록소 함량은 모든 결박 처리에서 낮게 나타났다.

평창지역 천연 활엽수림의 작업방법별 시업전후 임분구조 변화 (Changes in Stand Structures Before and After Silvicultural Treatments in Natural Deciduous Forests of Pyungchang Area)

  • 본 연구는 강원도 평창군 가리왕산 일대의 천연 활엽수림을 대상으로 작업방법별 시업 전과 시업 후의 임분구조의 변화를 평가함으로써 산림생태계 경영에 필요한 정보를 제공하고자 수행하였다. 이를 위해 $30m{\times}30m$(0.09 ha) 크기의 고정표본점을 각 작업방법별로 3반복으로 설치하고 시업 전과 시업 후의 정밀 임분조사를 실시하였다. 이와 같이 조사된 자료에 근거하여 집락도, 흉고직경 변이지수, 수고 변이지수, 그리고 혼효지수의 4가지 임분구조 지수를 추정한 후, 3가지 작업방법에 대한 시업 전과 시업 후의 임분구조 변화를 평가하였다. 본 연구에서는 각 작업방법별 그리고 시업 전후의 임분구조 변화에 대한 통계검정을 위해 Duncan의 다중검정과 t-검정을 실시하였다. 임분구조 지수를 분석한 결과 작업방법에 관계없이 시업을 통해 임분구조가 개선된 것으로 평가되었다. 또한 시업 전과 시업 후의 임분구조 지수는 통계적인 차이를 보여 각 작업방법별 임분의 공간 구조는 시업을 통해 개선된 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 각 작업방법별 목표 임분형으로 유도하기 위해서는 주기적인 모니터링과 추가적인 시업이 필요하다.

Growth Performance, Carcass Characteristics, Nutrient Digestibility and Serum Biochemical Parameters of Broilers Fed Low-protein Diets Supplemented with Various Ratios of Threonine to Lysine

  • This study was conducted to evaluate performance, breast (thigh) muscle yield, nutrient digestibility and serum biochemical parameters of broilers fed low-protein diets supplemented with various threonine to lysine ratios (Thr/Lys). Three hundred and twenty four day-old male Arbor Acres broilers were randomly allotted to six dietary treatments with six replicates per treatment and nine broilers per replicate. Six treatments included one control diet [formulated according to NRC (1994)], and five experimental diets (treatments 1-5). In treatments 1-5, the crude protein level was 2% lower than that of the NRC control diet. The Thr/Lys in treatments 1-5 was 0.65, 0.70, 0.75, 0.80 and 0.85 during the starter and grower phases and 0.70, 0.75, 0.80, 0.85 and 0.90 during the finisher phase with other nutrient levels kept consistent. The results showed that: (1) With increasing Thr/Lys, ADG of treatments 1, 3 and 4 were lower (p<0.05) than those of the NRC control diet during the starter phase; ADG of treatments 1-5 were lower (p<0.05) than those of the NRC control during the grower phase, and ADG of treatment 1 was lower (p<0.05) than that of the NRC control during the finisher phase. Average daily feed intake in treatments 1 and 4 were lower (p<0.05) than that of broilers on the NRC control diet during the grower phase. Feed/gain (F/G) of the NRC control diet was lowest (p<0.05) during the starter phase. F/G in treatments 2 and 5 were higher (p<0.05) than that of NRC during the grower phase. (2) Breast muscle proportion on d 21 increased linearly (p<0.05) in response to graded levels of Thr/Lys. (3) No differences were detected for dry matter, energy and crude protein digestibility among all seven treatments. (4) On d 21, serum triglyceride of broilers on dietary treatments 3 and 5 was higher (p<0.05) than that of broilers in control. The results indicate that the low-protein diets supplemented with an appropriate Thr/Lys could not support the same performance that was achieved by the broilers fed the NRC control diet.

간정격 시술 및 생간건비탕 투여가 간기능 및 비만도 변화에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Ganjeonggyeok Acupuncture and Saengkankunbi-tang Treatment in the Changes of LFT and Lipid-obesity Index Values)

  • Objectives : This study was aimed to figure out how effectively acupuncture treatment and herb-medicine work on patients with elevation of LFT value and lipid-obesity index. Methods : The subject were 23 patients visited to Dept. of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Kwangdong Oriental Medicine Hospital, who complained chronic fatigue and wandering pain from Oct. 2007. to Oct. 2008. Before treatments, they were tested for LFT, total cholesterol, triglyceride, body fat ratio and obesity index. They were treated with Ganjeonggyeok acupuncture weekly for 1 month. During acupuncture treatments, we applied Sangkankunbi-tang to all patients twice a day. After 1 month, they were retested for LFT, total cholesterol, triglyceride, body fat ratio and obesity index. Results : 1. After treatments, we could get the result of dropping means of AST, ALT and $\gamma$-GTP value. Statistical significance of ALT and $\gamma$-GTP were recognized before and after treatments, but AST was not recognized. 2. After treatments, we also could get the result of dropping means of total cholesterol, triglyceride, body fat ratio and obesity index. Statistical significance of all values were recognized before and after treatments. 3. Among 23 patients, 10 cases were reported that they were not within normal limits at least one in AST, ALT and $\gamma$-GTP. After treatments of those patients, we could get the result of dropping means of AST, ALT and $\gamma$-GTP value. Statistical significance of all values were recognized before and after treatments. 4. Among 23 patients, 19 cases were reported that they were not within normal limits at least one in total cholesterol, triglyceride, body fat ratio and obesity index. After treatments of those patients, we could get the result of dropping means of total cholesterol, triglyceride, body fat ratio and obesity index. Statistical significance of all values were recognized before and after treatments. Conclusions : Though further study is necessary, our finding suggest that the conduction of Ganjeonggyeok acupuncture and Sangkankunbi-tang treatments have helped to decrease the figures of LFT and lipid-obesity index in patients.

Effect of the Addition of Antimicrobial Materials Before and After Aging on the Physicochemical Properties of Low-Salt Kochujang during Storage

  • To improve the shelf life of low-salt Kochujang, Korean hot pepper paste, antimicrobial materials were added at different times before and after aging. The kochujang was then packaged and stored at $30^{\circ}C$ for 15 weeks, and changes in microbiological and physiochemical properties were evaluated. Hunter a- and b-values decreased considerably during storage. The total color difference (${\delta}E$) was greater in the ethanol-chitosan (EC) treatment than in the control and after pasteurization (A-P) treatment. Gas was produced until the seventh week of storage. The control and the A-P treatments produced more gas than the other treatments, and these had the largest number of yeasts and aerobic bacteria. The pH of the EC treatment was higher than that of the other treatments, and the A-P treatment had the highest level of titratable acidity. During storage, the oxidation-reduction potential was lower in the EC and ethanol-mustard-chitosan (EMC) treatments. The reducing sugar content decreased remarkably in the control and A-P treatments, with high production of ethanol. There was a significant change in the content of amino-type nitrogen in the control and A-P treatments, and the content of ammonia-type nitrogen was lowest in the EMC treatment. In the sensory test of kochujang, the ethanol-mustard (EM) and ethanol (E) treatments were significantly higher than the EC, control, and A-P treatments (p <0.05). EM or E alone was effective in extending the shelf life of kochujang when added before aging.

산란계 사육에 있어서 한방조성물의 항생제 대체 효과(I) - 육추기와 육성기 중심 - (Effect of the Mixed Herbal Medicine for the Substitution of Antibiotics on the Performance of Laying Hens(I) - Part of Rearing Period -)

  • The experiment was conducted to determine effect of the mixed herbal medicine for the substitution of antibiotics on the performance of laying hens. Day old hyline 1,500 layer chicks were randomly assigned to 4 treatments. Control were 600 chicks and there were three treatments of each 300 chicks. The 4 treatments were as follows: the mixed herbal medicine 0.1%(T-1), 0.3%(T-2) and 0.5%(T-3) after removed antibiotics on commercial feed and commercial feed( control) from 5th week to 13th week, each treatment was replicated 3 times and from 14th week to 18th week. Each 100 hens of the mixed herbal medicine 0.1%(CT-1), 0.3%(CT-2) and 0.5%(CT-3) were moved to cage. Body weight were measured on 4th, 8th, 13th week and feed intake, mortality were measured on every weeks. Body weight at fourth week, all treatments tended to be higher than control and T-3 statistically was highest(p<0.01). On 8th week, also treatments statistically high and T-1 was highest(p<0.01). But 12th week, there was not significantly different among treatments. Therefore it will be possible that the mixed herbal medicine substitute for antibiotics after vaccination. Mortality was not different between treatment and control overall rearing period. Early laying period($19{\sim}41wk$), T-2 showed highest feed intake(107.1g) among treatments, later laying period($42{\sim}77wk$), T-1 showed highest feed intake(134.3g) and was not any different among each treatments.

Phytase를 이용한 환경친화성 육성돈사료개발 (Development of Growing Pig Diets for Environment-Friendly by Using Phytase)

  • An experiment was carried out to evaluate the effects of adding phytase on nutrient digestibility in growing pigs. Three barrow pigs averaging 28.5$\pm$3.1kg of body weight were allotted to three treatments by 3$\times$3 latin square. Treatments included 1) com-soybean meal based-control diet and 2) and 3) control diet with phytase 500 and 1,000 unit. There were no effects of treatments on dry matter and nitrogen digestibility (P〉0.05). Ash, Ca and P digestibility in pigs fed diet with phytase were greater than those in pigs fed control diet(P〈0.05). An increased phosphorus intake was observed from pigs fed diet with treatments compared to that from pigs fed control diet. Pigs fed diet with adding phytase had improved P absorption compared to pigs fed control diet(P〈0.05). There was no significantly effect on fecal and urine excretion(P〈0.05). Ca intake was increased for pigs fed adding phytase compared to pigs fed control diet. No evident effect was observed on Ca fecal excretion among dietary treatments, however, urine excretion of pigs fed diet with treatments was decreased compared to pigs fed control diet. Cystine, isoleucine, tyrosine and phenylalanine digestibility of amino acid were greater for pigs fed diet with treatments than those for pigs fed control diet(P〈0.05). Asparagine, threonine, serine, methionine and leucine digestibility were improved for pigs fed with phytase 500 unit compared to pigs fed control diet. Lysine, histidine, arginine and other animo acids digestibility were higher for pigs fed diet with phytase than control diet, but there were no significant effects by the treatments(P〉0.05). In conclusion, the results of the experiments suggest that phytase supplementation in the diets could be a very beneficial strategy in environmental aspects.
