This case report presents the orthodontic treatment of a 25-year-old patient with skeletal Class II and severe maxillary arch crowding, moderate mandibular arch crowding, anterior crossbite, and a missing lower incisor. He was treated with molar distalization using a modified C-palatal plate and temporary anchorage devices to create sufficient space for retraction. The total treatment duration was 21 months. After treatment, his occlusion and smile esthetics showed significant improvement. The modified C-palatal plate represents a treatment modality that enhances the prospects of non-extraction treatment and reduces the need for extraction.
The aim of the present study was to develop a cognitive-behavioral group therapy program for social anxiety in Korean adolescents and to examine its efficacy through pre-, post- and 2-year follow-up tests. The program included cognitive restructuring, exposure training and social skills training. KSAS-A and SASC-R were administered to 588 1st grade middle-school female students to assess their social anxiety levels. On the basis of double criteria procedure(top 10% scores on both scales), 59 students were selected initially. Individuals currently receiving clinical treatment were excluded. Finally, 40 students were selected and randomly assigned to either a treatment group or a wait-list control group. The program consisted of 12 weekly sessions, approximately 1.5-2 hours in duration. Whereas pre- and post-tests were administered to both groups, follow-up tests were administered to the treatment group only. The collected data were statistically analyzed through independent t-test and paired t-test. The results of the study were as follows: 1) At post-test students in the treatment group showed a very significant reduction in social anxiety and fear of negative evaluation by others in comparison with those in the wait-list group. 2) At post-test students in the treatment group showed a significant reduction in negative automatic thoughts in comparison with those in the wait-list group. 3) At post-test students in the treatment group showed a significant improvement in overall social skills in comparison with those in the wait-list group. 4) At post-test students in the wait-list group showed a significant increase in both social anxiety and negative automatic thoughts in comparison with those in the treatment group. 5) At 3-month, 1-year and 2-year follow-ups, the program's effectiveness was maintained.

This study was conducted to examine the effects of an emergency treatment education program on nursing students' self-leadership, career decision-making self-efficacy, and nursing performance ability. The study was designed using a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design, and data were collected from June 1 to August 31, 2017. The participants consisted of 52 nursing students in D College of D City who were assigned to an experimental group (n=27) or control group (n=25). The pretest poll was performed on June 1, 2017 and posttest poll was performed 2 weeks later without any treatment in the control group. In the experimental group, the pretest poll was performed on July 25 before the emergency treatment education program and the posttest poll was performed on August 31 after the education program. The emergency treatment education program for the experimental group consisted of 2 hours of emergency treatment instruction, autonomously watching videos, and 4 hours of teaching elementary students about CPR for adults and first aid for airway obstruction, burns, bleeding, and fractures as a lecturer. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, independent t-test, $x^2$ test, and paired t-test with SPSS/WIN 20.0. After receiving the emergency treatment education program, a difference was observed in self-leadership (t=2.08, p<.05), career decision-making self-efficacy (t=4.22, p<.05) and nursing performance ability (t=5.02, p<.05) in the experimental group. The results of this study indicate that the emergency treatment education program was effective at increasing self-leadership, career decision-making self-efficacy, and nursing performance ability in nursing students.
Since areas of pain and dysfunction of musculoskeletal typically suffered by the patients with back disorders spread all over the body, WBIP(GCM Program) for the primary treatment and management is required. The purpose of this study is to analyze if WBIP(GCM Program) based on the hyper/hypomobility pattern of Four Body Types can identify the effective treatment of back disorders and the effect on the postural balanced restoration of the spine and extremities. Non-specific back disorder is still a major reason for sick leave. And moreover, its been reported that there was often recurrence to the patients whose symptom had been diminished. As a WBIP(GCM Program) based on kinematic chain patterns of Four Body Types, this study gave a new information on the effective diagnosis, treatment and management of non-specific back disorders. 337 patients above the twenty-five years old with the non-specific back disorders at the hospital and oriental medical clinics at Kyungnam and Busan areas in South Korea from August 24th, 2000 to Feb 23rd, 2001 have randomly been assigned to four experimental groups such as Whole Body Intervention Program Group, Physical Therapy Group like modality treatments, Acupuncture-Treatment Group, and Placebo Control Group. According to intervention program applied to the each four group for three times per week(twelve times per 4weeks), as the time-series methods, we compared and evaluated the body status of the pretest with that of post treatment completion of four week, three month, and six month, respectively. As the analytical method of measurement, our researchers used the Moire Interferometry Unit and Postural Kit that could measure the postural balance of spine and extremities. The collection of data was performed in the designated hospital and oriental medical clinics. For the analysis of the data, the SPSS 10.0 package program was used. X2-test has been taken in order to compare and analyze characteristics and GPES of the patients in four experimental groups. Repeated Measure ANOVA and Tukey post hoc test has been adopted in order to compare the effects of the balanced restoration of the spine and extremities among four Groups categorized for this study. Statistical significance was accepted at the 0.05 level of confidence The effect of the balanced restoration on the spine and extremities of the patients with non-specific back disorders has been proved in all of the Groups. As for the restoration degree, however, WBIP(GCM Program) Group produced the highest effectiveness in terms of the fact that it had a dense moire in comparison with the other three Groups and that the Moires of both sides had the same level by the time(p<0.01). WBIP(GCM Program) based on four tilting types of scapular and ilium and hyper/hypomobility pattern took a higher effect on the balanced restoration of the spine and extremities through a whole body as well as the treatment of back disorders than the other three Groups which the usual remedy without classification of body type had been applied to.
This study was designed to investigate the treatment, generalization, and maintenance effects of vocal relaxation treatment on compensatory articulation(i.e., glottalization of plosive sound) of three children with cleft palate. Multiple baseline design was applied to evaluate treatment, generalization, and maintenance effects. The targeted phonemes were ph/, th/, /t/ which Were frequently substituted by glottal stop sounds. The main component of the treatment program was vocal relaxation using humming and aspiration sound /h/. The following conclusions were deduced from the results: (1) the treatment program for compensatory articulation was effective in facilitating correct production of targeted phoneme and eliminating glottalization for all subjects, (2) the treatment effects on articulation accuracy were generalized to untreated phonemes (/c/, /c$c^{h}$/) for 2 subjects, (3) the treatment effects on decrease of glottalization were generalized to untreated phonemes for all subjects, and (4) the treatment effects were maintained for all subjects for 2 weeks after treatment was terminated.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of a cognitive rehabilitation program for the patients having an acute stroke. The variables evaluated were cognitive function, depression and activities of daily living (ADLs). Methods: A non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design with sixty-two subjects from two separated institutions was the design for the study. Thirty-three patients were assigned to the treatment group and 29 patients comprised the comparison group. The treatment group participated in the nursing intervention for cognitive rehabilitation for a three week period of time. The study was conducted from September 2010 to April 2011. Results: Following the three week intervention, the cognitive function and activities of daily living of the treatment group were significantly improved compared to the comparison group (t=6.33, p<.001; t=4.57, p<.001). Specifically, depression was significantly decreased in the treatment group (t=3.95, p<.001). Conclusion: The cognitive rehabilitation program was effective in increasing the treatment group cognitive function and activities of daily living along with a decrease in depression scores. Therefore, Cognitive Rehabilitation Program could be expected a beneficial nursing intervention in stroke patients.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of laughter therapy and cognitive reinforcement program on self-efficacy, depression and cognitive functions of the elderly with mild cognitive impairments (MCI). Methods: The study design was a non-equivalent control group pre and posttest design. Thirty-six subjects over the age of 65 with a diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment were assigned either to a treatment or a comparison group. Data were collected from February 7 to March 27, 2012 in the dementia supporting center. An eight week treatment program that included laughter therapy coupled with a cognitive reinforcing program including hand exercise, laughter dance routine, laughter technic and cognitive training for attention, memory, orientation and execution skill. Results: MoCA-K (t=-6.86, p<.001) and Stroop test CW correct (t=-2.54, p=.008), self-efficacy (t=-3.62, p=.001) in the treatment group were significantly higher than those of the comparison group. Reported depression (t=2.29, p=.014), Stroop test CW error (U=53.50, p<.001) in the treatment group was significantly less than the comparison group. Conclusion: In this study, the treatment was effective in improving self-efficacy, cognitive function and reducing depression in the elderly with MCI.

The purposes of this study was : 1) to describe the theoretical background of Clean-up Time Movement managing visitors' depreciative behavior ; 2) to test the effectiveness of a mass communication program, Clean-up Time Movement in National Park. This study employed a field experimental design (Multiple time-series design) in Naejangsan National Park. This study evaluated the differential effectiveness of the self-developed Clean-up Time Movement Program to reduce littering behavior between Control groups (Those who not received Clean-up Time Program) and Treatment groups (Those who received Clean-up Time Program) by weighting trash gathered in a litter box and scattered around picnic ground. The results showed that the Clean-up Time Movement Program was more effective to reduce the total trash and the trash degree per a person in Treatment groups than Control groups. It seemed to effective in managing depreciative behavior through the mass communication program in National Park.
This study was aimed to evaluate effect of parents-centered speech intervention program on overall speech and language performances of children with cochlear implant. Ten pairs of mother and child were selected and assigned into two groups: intervention group(G1) and control group(G2). G1 included 5 children with cochlear implant and their mothers who joined the parents-centered program. G2 consisted of 5 children with cochlear implant and their mothers did not participate in the program. To evaluate their speech and language abilities, examination instruments(Preschool Language Scale, and Language Comprehension and Cognition Test) were analyzed. Performances of pre- and post-treatment were analysed by ANOVA procedure. The results were as follows: There were significant differences of speech and language performances between pre- and post-treatment in G1. But there were no significant differences in G2(therapists centered program). G1 showed better performances in language comprehension than G2. This study revealed that parents centered language intervention program would be effective for speech and language development for children with cochlear implant.
