This paper deals with the underwater image transmission system which includes in AUV(Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) Project(that is VORAM(Vehicle for Ocean Research And Monitoring)), developed by KIMM for survey and investigation of a sea-bed through transmitting the underwater image to the mother ship. The system presented in this paper consists of a transducer which has a 136KHz center frequency and it's 10KHz bandwidth, pre-amplifier, $\pi$/4 QPSK(Quadreature Phase Shift Keying) modulation/demodulation method, image compressing method using JPEG technique and modified Stop & protocol. The experimental results of the system is verified to a high performance with 9600 bps for transmitting the underwater image through the basin test. The results of test are also verified which allows to desirable transmission performance compared with the existing developed system and the possibility to put the practical use of survey and investigation. And, the viterbi coding and adaptive equalizer for cancelling the multipath effect are developing for more effective image transmission system. Also, these technique will very effectively adapt to realtime image transmission system.

The transient responses on arbitrarily interconnected digital transmission lines are analyzed by an efficient node discretization technique. Since the proposed node discretization technique offers an efficient means to discretize transmission lines, the transient waveform at any position on the arbitrarily interconnected lines is easily predicted. Dispersive microstrip multiconductor transmission lines arbitrarily connected are analized for generality. The derivation of frequency-dependent equivalent circuit elements of coupled transmission lines have been carried out by the spectral domain approach(SDA). The effects of variations of excited pulse width on the crosstalks of the high-speed microstrip coupled-lines are also investigated. It has been well known that the crosstalk spike level is monotonously increased when the coupling length and effective permittivity of substrate are increased. In this paper, it is found that the variations of crosstalk level are not further monotonous as shortening the exciting pulse width toward several picosecond. The results are verified by the generalized S-parameter technique.
Cloud environment is one in the field of distributed computing and it consists of physical nodes and virtual nodes. In distributed cloud environment, an optimal path search is that each node to perform a search for an optimal path. Synchronization of each node is required for the optimal path search via fast data transmission because of real-time environment. Therefore, a quantization technique is required in order to guarantee QoS(Quality of Service) and search an optimal path. The quantization technique speeds search data transmission of each node. So a main server can transfer data of real-time environment to each node quickly and the nodes can perform to search optimal paths smoothly. In this paper, we propose the quantization technique to solve the search problem. The quantization technique can reduce the total data transmission. In order to experiment the optimal path search system which applied the quantized data transmission, we construct a simulation of cloud environment. Quantization applied cloud environment reduces the amount of data that transferred, and then QoS of an application for the optimal path search problem is guaranteed.

There are a number of studies that propose transmission power control algorithms in wireless sensor networks. However, these algorithms have a lot of overhead in the initialization phase since a number of packets have to be transmitted to determine the optimal transmission power level. This paper proposes the transmission power control technique considering the shortest-path to minimize the hop-count without the occurrence of any power control messages. We applied the proposed technique on tree-based network component implemented on TinyOS. And we evaluated the performance including transmission energy and average network depth with 21 motes. Compared to before, the proposed technique reduces about 24.7% of the average electric current on transmitting. As a result of considering the shortest-path, the hop-count considering the shortest-path was about 41% less than a normal network.
Since sensor networks consist of sensor nodes with limited energy resources, so efficient energy use of sensor nodes is very important in the design of sensor networks. Sensor nodes consume a lot of energy for data transmission. Clustering technique is used to efficiently use energy in data transmission. Recently, mobile sink techniques have been proposed to reduce the energy load concentrated on the cluster header near a sink node. The CMS(Cluster-based Mobile sink) technique minimizes the generation of control messages by creating a data transmission path while creating clusters, and supports the inter-cluster one-hop transmission. But, there is a case where there is no connectivity between neighbor clusters, it causes a problem of having a long hop data transmission path regardless of local distance. In this paper, we propose a SCBC(Strong connection balancing cluster) to support the path of the minimum number of hops. The proposed scheme minimizes the number of hops in the data transmission path and supports efficient use of energy in the cluster header. This also minimizes a number of hops in data transmission paths even when the sink moves and establishes a new path, and it supports the effect of extending the life cycle of the entire sensor network.
This paper presents a study on the experimental analysis of the impedance characteristics according to the rotational direction of the transmission beam of a cylindrical sensor array. Besides, this suggests a real time control technique of the transmitter output for the effective maximum power transmission, in order to drive efficiently the rotational transmission beam of the active sonar transmitter. The output characteristics of the transmitter and the real-time impedance variations of the sensor array are analyzed under the overload conditions. They are caused by electric and acoustic boundary conditions when the rotational transmission beam is operated. From these results, a new output control method of the transmitter is proposed to protect the transmitter and its loads. It can maximize the output power without the transmission pause even if the transient phenomena occur. The proposed technique is verified from the experiment.

A novel transmission electron microscopy technique for the visualization of polymers adsorbed on secondary fines has been developed. This technique has been utilized in observing the adsorption behavior of various wet-end additives. The technique is sensitive enough not only to allow differentiation between linear and branched polymers, but also to observe differences in the adsorption behavior and conformational characteristics of particular polymeric derivatives. Conformational changes of a cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) were examined in response to variations in wet-end conditions, such as mixing time and system conductivity. The molecular conformations of cationic starch and cationic guar gum were also examined by this technique. The technique has been employed to observe the effects of silica microparticles on the conformational characteristics of CPAM (drainage/retention aid) pre-adsorbed on secondary fines. The transmission electron microscopy method is a viable tool for investigating the macromolecular events that make up a large part of wet end chemistry in papermaking.

We consider an adaptive bit-loading technique for bit interleaved coded modulation-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(BICM-OFDM) systems. By adjusting transmission parameter of each subcarrier adaptively depending on the subchannel state, the performance of OFDM system can be improved dramatically. In this paper, the number of bits for each subcarrier is allocated to minimize bit error rate keeping the constant throughput for the adaptive transmission technique of BICM-OFDM system which can be applied to real time transmission. Also, We use the discrete Lagrange multiplier method to get the optimum solution under the integer bit allocation constraint. Simulation results show that computational amount of the proposed bit allocation technique is not high and BICM-OfDM system using the proposed technique can get the SNR gain by 2$\~$3 dB over nonadaptive one.
From 2009, the market of smart devices has been rapidly increasing. These devices provide various services to users. The cloud messaging service, especially, is applied to many various services, and sends messages asynchronously. In the cloud messaging service, there are two methods for message transmission, message transmission based on an IP address and a publish/subscribe technique. Each technique uses basic messages in order to send messages to mobile devices. In this paper, the hybrid message transmission, based on user-customized analysis to reduce basic messages, is proposed. The hybrid message transmission uses Exponential Moving Average (EMA) and K-means algorithms for user-customized analysis, and determines the message transmission techniques in each timeslot.

This paper proposes a low power transmission technique for single-carrier modulation with frequency domain equalization. As time domain signals and frequency domain signals have unique corresponding functions, inserting zeros after each symbol causes a repetition in other domain, so maximal ratio combining technique using repetitive transmission can be applied in the frequency domain. In this paper, we configure transmit signals to insert zeros after each symbols for single-carrier modulation with frequency domain equalization and maximal ratio receive combining block in the receiver structures, propose a structure for transmitter and receiver and show that its performance is better than the traditional algorithm by simulations.
