The additional matters appear to be considered in several aspects for building up power-quality measuring system of transmission system(high voltage system) compared to distribution system(middle or low voltage system). Like in distribution system, input signals are also received from PT and CT source of voltage and current respectively in transmission system and applied in accordance with a certain rate. In this case, very big error rate can be occurred according to the specification of the measuring system as the applying rate is bigger than in distribution system beyond comparison. In addition, when the abnormal signal occurred such as sag/swell, interruption, transient etc., power quality of other sires linked to the system also should be checked to find the accurate cause of the abnormal power-quality signals from the corresponding. site. Accordingly, the accurate diagnosis on the condition of power quality for the system depends on the way how the synchronization system is brought along for each site. This paper will suggest the solution for the most effective system building focused on how to solve the problem of the error rate and synchronization described in the above when building up the measuring system of power quality for transmission system.

We present power(in frequency domain) and rate adaptation(in time domain) schemes in multicarrier (MC) direct-sequence code-division multiple-access(DS/CDMA) communications. Utilizing channel state information from the receiver, the adaptation schemes allocate power the user's sub-band with the largest channel gain. In the time domain, the transmission data rate is adapted for a desired transmission quality. In the case of single-user channels, a closed-form expression is derived for an optimal time domain power adaptation that minimizes the average bit error rate(BER). Channel inversion power adaptation is found to provide nearly optimal performance in this case, as the number of sub-bands or available average transmission power increase. Analysis and simulation results show the BER performance of the proposed power and rate adaptations with fixed average transmission power significantly improves the performance over the power allocation in the frequency domain only. Also, we compare the performance of the proposed power and rate adaptation schemes in MC-DS/CDMA systems with that of power and rate adapted single carrier DS/CDMA systems with RAKE receiver.
IEEE 802.11 Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) adopts Power Saving Mode(PSM) to save the power. Unlike existing PSM, this paper proposes a new scheme for the power saving of the Mobile Host(MH) when a MH performs the data transmission after the competition-based DCF(Distributed Coordination Function) and competition free-based PCF(Point Coordination Function). In this paper, The proposed scheme estimates the distance between the MH with the authority of data transmission and the Access Point(AP) and then adaptively controls the power of the MH considering the distance. Through the simulation result, we find that the proposed scheme consumes the smaller transmission power and has the similar success rate of packet transmission when it is compared to the existing scheme which uses the same power without the consideration of the distance.
In this paper, a high dividing ratio unequal power divider using parallel connection transmission line is presented. Because a very low impedance transmission line can't implement a microstrip technology, this can fabricate a parallel connection transmission line with high impedance. When we design a high dividing ratio divider, we need the very low impedance line. The parallel connection transmission line could be implemented to obtain a low impedance line characteristic. To validity this approach, we are implemented a 10:1 unequal divider at center frequency 1 GHz. The performances of power divider agree with simulation results.

Due to high oil prices, environmental pollution, the study of electric vehicles have been actively promoted. Charger for the electric vehicle is being developed using wireless rather than cable options. In this paper, we got more efficiency from using a superconducting transmission coil compared to using a normal coil. We implemented a wireless power transmission system using a magnetic induction at a frequency of 63.1 kHz. For comparison, a transmitter was designed using a superconducting coil and a normal coil. In addition, a receiver used a normal coil to apply for electric vehicles. The applied voltage and current were12 V and 5 A. Efficiency at a distance of 40 ~ 80 mm was measured. As a result, the superconducting transmission coil had a higher efficiency than the normal transmission coil. However, the receiving coil should be normal conductor for stable operation considering that it was put in moving electric vehicle. The efficiency was increased to 44 % at a distance of 40 mm when the diameter of normal receiving coil was 120 mm.

A transmission designed with P.T.O(Power Take-Off) axle for agricultural work vehicles including multi-purpose vehicles has been developed. It is focused on the 4-wheel drive transmission of synchronous contact type for practical use in fruit tree households which is required for a large-sized agricultural vehicle. Concerning to the specification performed, the load capacity is from 500kg to 1,000kg and the safety should be secured for passengers. In addition, the driving condition should also be secured under bad situations of the topographic slope, swampy land and the rest. In order to carry out above tests, a prototype vehicle through strength analysis of transmission design has been manufactured. Consequently, optimal design conditions on the power transmission with multi-purpose vehicle for various jobs are proposed such as an indication of optimal RPM and torque at a certain work situation. The performance test through the prototype of multi-purpose work vehicle is performed and the related data base is achieved. Finally, it is improved on troubles by the analysis of the results of R&D and provided the solutions on problems occurring to mass production in the future.
Overhead transmission lines are crucial components in power transmission systems. Well-designed maintenance strategy for overhead lines is required for power utilities to minimize operating costs, while improving the reliability of the power system. This paper presents a maintenance priority index (MPI) of overhead lines for a reliability centered approach. Proposed maintenance strategy is composed of a state index and importance indices, taking into account a transmission condition and importance in system reliability, respectively. The state index is used to determine the condition of overhead lines. On the other hand, the proposed importance indices indicate their criticality analysis in transmission system, by using a load effect index (LEI) and failure effect index (FEI). The proposed maintenance method using the MPI has been tested on an IEEE 9-bus system, and a numerical result demonstrates that our strategy is more cost effective than traditional maintenance strategies.

This paper presents a transmission power control MAC protocol that allows terminals to vary transmit power level on data frame basis in ad hoc network. Unlike the IEEE 802.11 approach, we do not use the RTS/CTS packets to silence the neighboring nodes. Instead, channel gain and distance information between transmitter and receiver terminal are inserted in the RTS/CTS packets. These informations are used to dynamically bound the transmission power. Simulation results indicate that, compared to the GMAC, the proposed MAC protocol achieves a increase in the average frame delivery ratio and a decrease in the average frame delay.

Wireless power transmission technology has been studied variety. Recently, wireless power transmission technology used by resonance and magnetic induction field is applied to various fields. However, magnetic resonance and inductive coupling are have drawbacks - power transmission distance is short. Microwave transmission and accept techniques have been developed to overcome short distance. However, improvement in efficiency is required. This paper, propose a high-efficiency microwave energy acceptor IC(EAIC). Suggested EAIC is consists of RF-DC converter and DC-DC converter. Wide Input power range is -15 dBm ~ 20 dBm. And output voltage is boosted up to 5.5 V by voltage boost-up circuit. EAIC can keep the output voltage constant. Available efficiency of RF-DC converter is 95.5 % at 4 dBm input. And DC-DC efficiency is 94.79 % at 1.1 mA load current. Fully EAIC efficiency is 90.5 %.
This paper presents an approach of the Gustafson-Kessel (GK) clustering algorithm's performance in fault identification on power transmission lines. The clustering algorithm is incorporated in a scheme that uses hybrid intelligent technique to combine artificial neural network and a fuzzy inference system, known as adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). The scheme is used to identify the type of fault that occurs on a power transmission line, either single line to ground, double line, double line to ground or three phase. The scheme is also capable an analyzing the fault location without information on line parameters. The range of error estimation is within 0.10 to 0.85 relative to five values of fault resistances. This paper also presents the performance of the GK clustering algorithm compared to fuzzy clustering means (FCM), which is particularly implemented in structuring a data. Results show that the GK algorithm may be implemented in fault identification on power system transmission and performs better than FCM.
