OOP 개념에 기초한 유동해석용 후처리 프로그램 개발 (Development of a Post-Processing Program for Flow Analysis Based on the Object-Oriented Programming Concept)

  • A post-processing program based on the OOP(Object-Oriented Programming) concept has been developed for flow visualization of the flow analysis code(PowerCFD) using unstructured cell-centered method. User-friendly GUI(GTaphic User Interface) has been built on the base of MFC(Microsoft Foundation Class). The program is organized as modules by classes including those based on VTK(Visualization ToolKit)-library, and these classes are made to function through inheritance and cooperation which is an important and valuable OOP concept. The major functions of this post-processor program are introduced and demonstrated, which include mesh plot, contour plot, vector plot, surface plots, cut plot, clip plot, xy-plot and streamline plot as well as view manipulation (translation, rotation, scaling etc).

  • This paper deals with effective using the IGES file for flexible data exchange among the other CAD/CAM system. If a data exchange between STL file and the neutral IGES file in Stereolithography system is available, a product design becomes more flexible. THere can be many restrictions and difficulties intranslating these data. First, an STL file follows two rules, such as right-hand rule, and vertex-to-vertex rule, thus requires a structural verification. Second, translation should be performed with minmal errors. It becomes very important to translate IGES file of limited kinds of entities fot the purpose of geometric information into STL file with minor data manipulation. The developed system suggests a good approach of translating the sampled B-spline surface of IGES and shows a potential linkage between IGES and STL format file.

  • To obtain $A_2$ experimentally in the $J-A_2$ theory, deformation field on the lateral surface of a CT specimen was to be determined using Laser speckle method. The crack growth was measured using direct current potential drop method and most procedure of experimental and data reduction was performed according to ASTM Standard E1737-96. Laser speckle images during crack propagation were monitored by two CCD cameras to cancel the effect of rotation and translation of the specimen. An algorithm to pursue displacement of a point from each image was developed and successfully used to measure $A_2$ continuously as the crack tip was propagated. The effects of specimen thickness on J-R curve and $A_2$ were explored.

  • The technical development of electric vehicles has been actively proceeding because of the reduction of oil resources and need for eco-friendly vehicle technology. In particular, an electronic control unit is an important element in the technology of electric vehicles due to the motor drive system. This paper concerns an experimental study on the thermal analysis of the steering control ECU structure for an electric vehicle. The ECU unit is designed for eight heat sinks for the thermal analysis of the ECU structure. The thermal analysis characteristics of the ECU structure are evaluated by the temperature distribution, heat flow, von Mises stress, total translation, and external surface temperature measurement of the ECU unit.

  • Several high resolution schemes such as OSHER, MUSCL, SMART, GAMMA, WACEB and CUBISTA are applied to two typical test cases of a translation test and a collapsing water column problem for the accurate capturing of fluid interfaces. It is accomplished by implementing the high resolution schemes in the in-house CFD code(PowerCFD) for computing 3-D flow with an unstructured cell-centered method, which is based on the finite-volume technique and fully conservative. The calculated results are found to show that SMART scheme gives the best performance with respect to accuracy and robustness.

밀리구조물의 다자유도 미세 변위 측정법에 대한 연구 (A study on multi degrees of freedom fine motion measurement for milli-structure)

  • Cutrent technological development toward miniaturization requires smaller components. These components usually generate complex multi-DOF motions other than simple 1-DOF motlon. Therefore it is essential to develop measurement methodology for 6-DOF motions. In this paper, a new 6-DOF measurement system for milli-struchlre is presented. This methodology basically employs the Optical Beam Deflection Method (OBDM) with a diffraction grating. A laser beam is emitted toward the difliaction grating which could be attached on the surface of a milli-structue and the incident ray is dif'||'&'||'acted in several directions. Among these difliacted beams, $0^{th}$ and $\pm$ $1^{th}4" order difkicted rays are detected by 4 Quadrant Photodiodes. From coordinate values fram each detector, we can get information for 6-DOF motions with lineariration method, Required resolutions for milli-struchue measurement are suh-micrometer in translation and arcsec in rotation. Experimental results indicate that proposed system has possibility to satisfy this requirement.

  • An optical technique to align the laser beam with the rotation axis of a cylindrical microstructure is developed for laser microfabrication. The sample surface is first set normal to the rotation axis by applying a simple reflection law of geometrical optics and then the laser beam is aligned with the rotation axis using translation stages with quadrant photodiodes. Principle and the configuration of the alignment technique are described. An application of the present technique to laser microstereolithography showed that it could be effectively used for fabrication of micro cylindrical structures.

  • An experimental method for measuring side-necking deformation near a crack-tip is described. It is based on Stereoscopic Digital Speckle Photography and Digital Image Correlation, and it is simple and robust to mechanical vibration inherent to a hydraulic material test system. The validity and accuracy are evaluated through a calibration fur rigid body translation. A case study has been performed for a CT specimen made of a ductile steel and the three dimensional profiles of the side-necked region are presented as the load increases. Also, the details of the procedure and the surface treatment are discussed.

Accurate Stitching for Polygonal Surfaces

  • Various applications, such as mesh composition and model repair, ask for a natural stitching for polygonal surfaces. Unlike the existing algorithms, we make full use of the information from the two feature lines to be stitched up, and present an accurate stitching method for polygonal surfaces, which minimizes the error between the feature lines. Given two directional polylines as the feature lines on polygonal surfaces, we modify the general placement method for points matching and arrive at a closed-form solution for optimal rotation and translation between the polylines. Following calculating out the stitching line, a local surface optimization method is designed and employed for postprocess in order to gain a natural blending of the stitching region.
