Design of a Transceiver Transmitting Power, Clock, and Data over a Single Optical Fiber for Future Automotive Network System

  • This paper proposes a new link structure that transmits power, clock, and data through a single optical fiber for a future automotive network. A pulse-position modulation (PPM) technique is adopted to guarantee a DC-balanced signal for robust power transmission regardless of transmitted data pattern. Further, circuit implementations and theoretical analyses for the proposed PPM transceiver are described in this paper. A prototype transceiver fabricated in 65-nm CMOS technology, is used to verify the PPM signaling part of the proposed system. The prototype achieves a $10^{-13}$ bit-error rate and 0.188-UI high frequency jitter tolerance while consuming 14 mW at 800 Mb/s.

  • In this paper, we designed a Self-Oscillating mixer(SOM) for Microwave Transceiver. Implemention of SOM shows the output power of 4.33dBm at 10.750Hz and the phase-noise of -102dBc/Hz at 100KHZ offset frequency, Applying the input frequency band 11.7GHz∼12.9GHz, The designed SOM If frequency is 950MHz∼2150MHz and its conversion gain is 6dB in the If band.   • We propose a novel driver circuit design using $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process technology that drives a 1550 nm high-speed VCSEL used in optical transceiver. We report a distinct improvement in bandwidth, voltage gain and eye diagram at 3.1Gb/s data rate in comparison with existing topology. In this paper, the design and layout of a 3.1Gb/s VCSEL driver for optical transceiver having arrayed multi-channel of integrating module is confirmed.

  • In this paper, the radiation characteristics of a bar-type tranceiver are analyzed by using FDTD method and the effectiveness of the analysis method is verified by comparing the calculated data with experimental data. The effects of human head and hand on the radiation characteristics of fold-type transceiver are analyzed.   • "Side scan sonar" using acoustic signal has been developed to survey cable laying, sunken bodie\ulcorner bottom and so on. It use the acoustic signals, which are emitted from two transducer arrays, to get gemetri\ulcorner target area. This system consists of transceiver board, towed body, and deck unit. The transceiver board, w\ulcorner watertight canister of the towed body, controls the transmitting and receiving of 400kHz acoustic signals from \ulcorner After receiving the scattered signals, it processes the filtering, AGF(Automatic Gain Control), TVG(Time Heterodyne. The deck unit is composed of the signal processing part, A/D converter, power supplier, and real\ulcorner And the towed body has been designed to satisfy the optimal hydrodynamic behavior during towing. The de\ulcorner theory of transceiving part and some results from field-experiments will be introduced here.

  • In this paper, experiments through performance evaluation under real operation environment were conducted. Transceiver and microcontroller shows the characteristics for the amount of current consumption and software protocol was optimized by controlling the time of Report Attribute and electric current level. To reduce current consumption when using battery, with designing transmission of the same amount of data as soon as possible, power consumption efficiency was enhanced.

  • In order to investigate remotely the behavior and distribution of fishes, the telesounder system which was composed of two parts with a buoy station at sea and a base station on land was manufactured trial. The buoy station at sea consists of fishfinder, transmission interface and transceiver. On the other hand, the base station on land consist of transceiver, receiving interface, trigger/signal separator and color display monitor. The system simulation for the performance of telesounder was carried out by use of echo simulator which could input echo signal into fishfinder. The received power (dBm) of transceiver at 29.4MHz decreased almost in proportion to distance between transmitter and receiver, and the electric field intensity was 12.12mV/m at 100 meters distance from transmitter. The image of color display monitor at the base station on land was very well coincident with the records of fishfinder from the buoy station located at sea. Therefore, it is concluded that the telesounder system is very useful in the analysis of the information on the behavior and the distribution of fishes detected from sea.

  • FLL (Frequency Locked Loop) is the core block for high-speed transceiver. It incorporates a PLL for fine locking action, and a coarse controller for coarse locking action. A coarse controller compares frequencies coarsely and is applied to detected frequency difference directly. Compare to conventional FLL, frequency is applied to proposed FLL. Proposed FLL in this paper achieves only 5 cycles for coarse lock and total frequency locking time is 5 times faster than conventional FLL. Thus, proposed FLL is more useful to Ethernet transceiver application that requires high-speed data transfer than conventional FLL. Proposed FLL is based on $0.18{\mu}m$ process.

High Output Power and High Fundamental Leakage Suppression Frequency Doubler MMIC for E-Band Transceiver

  • An active frequency doubler monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) for E-band transceiver applications is presented in this letter. This MMIC has been fabricated in a commercial $0.1-{\mu}m$ GaAs pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor (pHEMT) process on a 2-mil thick substrate wafer. The fabricated MMIC chip has been measured to have a high output power performance of over 13 dBm with a high fundamental leakage suppression of more than 38 dBc in the frequency range of 71 to 86 GHz under an input signal condition of 10 dBm. A microstrip coupled line is used at the output circuit of the doubler section to implement impedance matching and simultaneously enhance the fundamental leakage suppression. The fabricated chip is has a size of $2.5mm{\times}1.2mm$.
