  • In this study, an acoustical characteristics of sound proof panel for high speed train was performed. A sound absorption coefficient and transmission loss of sound proof panels for high speed train were tested in reverberation chambers and compared those of ordinary sound proof panel. The effect of noise barrier was simulated by using ray noise program with measured sound absorption coefficient for high speed train case and for ordinary case.

  • Real-time communication network is important for KTX high speed train system because small problem can make a huge accident. Communication network for KTX high speed train system consists of IEEE 802.4 token bus network and FM0 encoding. The network device is developed by using MC68824 TBC, MC68185 TPM and MC68020 MPU. The network device make available to analysis of the network protocol among vehicles for Kyung-Boo high-speed train system.

  • This study is about design of vehicle for air tightness to pressure waves of high speed train. When the train runs to high speed over 300km/h, the comfort of passenger come down due to difference pressure between inside and outside of passenger room. The car-body was carried out the design of air-tightness, and the analysis of inside pressure of vehicle in tunnel by TG_TUN of ALSTOM Co. The result of analysis should be used the design of air pressurized system and car-body of G7 high speed train project.

  • This paper proposes the Systematic Design Methodology of the Korean High Speed Train. High Speed Train do not operate in isolation and are part of a rail system which is influenced through input and output effects from the environment and from the neighbouring system. To fulfil its overall desired function, such input and output relationships between the systems must be considered in the system boundary conditions. Therefore, the overall interrelationship of all these effects has to be carefully considered during the design process. Here proposed methodology may provide a guide line and criteria for the systematic problem solving method of that highly complex High Speed Train System.

  • Abstract Tilting train has been developed to increase the oprational speed of the trains on conventional lines which have many curves. This train are tilted at curves to compensate for unbalanced carbody centrifugal acceleration to a greater extent than compensation produced by the track cant, so that passengers do not feel centrifugal acceleration and thus trains can run at higher speed at curves. This paper developed PDM(product data management) to make a system engineering of TTX(Tilting Train eXpress) with maximum operation speed 180 km/h.

  • Computer aided simulation is becoming an essential part in planning, design, and operation of railway systems. To determine the adequate performance and specification of railway system, it is necessary to calculate rotting stock's performance such as distance, speed, power etc when train's running. This paper presents result of train performance simulation using the program that developed in advance for Korea high speed train. To verify result of simulation, we have compared that with experiment data.

  • This paper shows the results of exterior and interior design of a prototype test train(HSR 350X) which was developed in R&D project titled "Development of High Speed Railway Technology". The prototype test train, which has two power cars, two motorized trailers and three trailers, is now being tested on high speed line. The improved conceptual design work of a new commercial train and next generation′s train is also peformed for future needs.

  • The aerodynamic effect on platform during the train passage, the results of field test on the high-speed railway platform are discussed and the whole test results and conclusions are synthesized. The field test for the high-speed railway have been conducted on the Osong temporary platform in the newly constructed Seoul-Busan high-speed line and total 12 measurements have been conducted for G7 train and KTX train. The results shows that the high-speed trains have similar aerodynamic characteristics and have far better characteristics referring to the conventional trains such as Saemaul and Mugungwha trains. To discuss the actual aerodynamic effects on the platform at its own operational speed, Beaufort wind scale have been introduced and the criteria for the safety on railway platform has also been discussed.

한국형 고속전철 집전장치 접촉력 계측에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Measurement of Contact Force of Pantograph of Korean High Speed Train)

  • The pantograph for Korean High Speed Train was developed by home-grown technology. In this study, a system to measure the contact force of pantograph is developed and installed on the prototype high speed train, Contact force prevents the pantograph from separating from the catenary. However, excessive contact force causes rapid erosion of catenary. The contact force can be divided into lift force and spring force. Contact force measurement is conducted while the train runs on the test track. The lift force is measured by the load cell on the roof separately and combined with the spring force of pan-head to form the contact force. Measured results show that the contact force of the pantograph of Korean High Speed Train is below the upper limit regulated by the high speed train standards. The contact force measuring system provides data to evaluate safety of the catenary system.
