  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between wive's sex-role attitude and their marital satisfaction for understanding a part of marital relations. For this purpose, a questionnaire was constructed and administrated to 626 married women. the sex role attitude scale was a modified version of the sex-role attitude scale constructed by Osmond and Martin, and the marital satisfaction scale was developed basing upon the scales used by Terman and Hayes & Stinnett. The result of this study are summarized as follows; The majority of wives have relatively modem attitude toward their sex role in the extra familial roles. Wives have relatively modem attitude toward their sex role when the couples are younger, more educated, on a higher income level and working or a job (especially or a professional job). Wife's education level, husband's education level and family income make significant difference in their marital satisfaction specifically, a wife would be relatively more satisfied when she has more education and the family income level is higher. It is founded that wives sex role attitude has significant relationship with their marital satisfaction. A wife tends to be more satisfied when she has a traditional sex role attitude . A professional wife who has a traditional attitude shows most satisfaction and one who has a modern attitude and not having a job tends to be most dissatisfied with her marriage. It is also founded that a wife who has traditional attitude and received college education are above shows most satisfaction while the wife who has modern attitude and received high school education or below shows most dissatisfaction with their marriage lives.

  • The notion of outcome-based educational paradigm and its adaptability for higher education has become a recent growing and quite stirring trend. In the year 2017-18, this educational philosophy has been embraced by some of the higher educational institutions in Pakistan as well. This research attempts to investigate OBE and non-OBE systems in the context of students learning outcomes and academic attainment levels in engineering education in Pakistan. The study has been conducted on undergraduate students of MUET, Jamshoro, Sindh Pakistan. The students of the software engineering department are taken as the sample. Student cohorts are formed i.e., OBE and non-OBE (traditional/teacher-centered approach) cohorts. The summative assessments of semester exams are used for data analysis descriptive statistics and independent samples t-test is performed to set up the group statistic. The findings of this study show that, in terms of students' performance, the OBE system outperforms the traditional system and this transition in engineering institutions might be beneficial in the future.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a fusion-food cooking program and apply that to sixth grade elementary school students, and to investigate its' effects on their knowledge, preferences, and perceptions of Korean traditional foods. The program focused on ten components. Students learned the general features of Korean traditional foods and Western foods in the 1st lesson. They learnt about kinds, nutrition value, and histories of kimchi, Tteok (rice cake), and Jeon (pan fried food), and cooked two fusion-foods of kimchi, Tteok, and Jeon each. As a result of learning about those food items, the students advanced their knowledge (p < 0.001) of kimchi, Tteok, and Jeon. Their preferences for Tteok (p < 0.05) and Jeon (p < 0.01) were increased, but those for kimchi remained unchanged. The interest (p < 0.05) and preferences (p < 0.01) for the general Korean traditional foods were increased. In conclusion, our results suggested that the fusion-food cooking program had the ability to improve elementary school students' perceptions of Korean traditional foods by increasing their knowledge, preferences, and interest in them. Furthermore it was considered that the program could help students understand the value of Korean traditional foods and in turn may encourage them to consume such food items more frequently. Since the fusion-food cooking activity program can be a good learning program as shown by the results of this study, more fusion-foods cooking activity programs, which are not discussed in this study, should be evaluated and developed in the future.

  • This study summarized findings from an investigation into the awareness and evaluation of traditional foods among 197 male and female university students in the Chungnam area. The results were as follows. Regarding awareness of cooktable setting of traditional foods, 44.67% (88 students) of subjects answered that they had little knowledge. Female students showed a significantly high level of awareness of cooktable setting (p<0.05). Regarding the taste of traditional foods, 64.97% (128 students) of subjects responded appropriately. Regarding the necessity for partial development of traditional foods into a modern style, 61.90% (52 students) of male subjects and 84.96% (96 students) of female subjects were in agreement (p<0.01). Regarding the necessity for traditional food education, 77.16% (152 students) were in agreement, especially female students (86.73%, 98 students) showed considerably higher consent (p<0.05). For the assessment of traditional foods, nutrition (4.57 scores), taste (4.31 scores), and appearance (4.26 scores) were very highly assessed, whereas cookery (3.30 scores) and economic aspects (3.04 scores) scored relatively lower. Traditional desserts were recognized as routine and modern by male students. On the other hand, girls recognized desserts as traditional (p<0.05). Accordingly, we must preserve and pass down Korean traditional foods by increasing awareness through education or experience as well as through planning better cookery and economical aspects by applying certain standards for traditional foods.

  • This research focuses on the modern social phenomenon on child education which still, heavily focuses on knowledge transfer where in the past, traditional society emphasized its focal point on character education. At this, character education plans from various angles have been performed. However, the timely request for character education is becoming more desperate in demand. Therefore, the research has contemplated on Sohak, which was the foundation of character education in Korean traditional education, and recognized necessity to review its modern values as the convergence era has approached our society. Modernization of Sohak's teachings to approach modern issue of character education in our society will hold significant value because of its creative inheritance of psychological values and culture to children from the traditional society.

  • Recently, by the popularization of computers and the development of many kinds of information transmission software, the living pattern in business offices and in home-life have changed rapidly. Because of the great progression of today's science technology, the influence of social education on the children is larger than that of the traditional school.. By a rapid change in the social atmosphere, there are some people who insist the traditional school education system is of no use any more. There have been many calls for reform of traditional schooling and in particular there has been major rethinking of school mathematics. The initial demand for change in elementary school mathematics is because of the poor achievement of students. There are even more compelling reasons for change. For example today's science technology society requires a different mathematical literacy for its citizens than that of the past. The importance of problem-solving based on interest and progress is more important than just paper-pencil computation in elementary schools. And also the increasing information wave of today's society demands that the school accept the long-distance education which could not be imagined in the past. Taking account of this variety, school education in the future should willingly introduce and apply the open education system to keep pace with today's society. To accept society demands actively, today's schools are going to accept and apply the idea of the open education. In this viewpoint, the purpose of the paper is to analyze the causes of under-achievement in mathematics teaming, the directions of school mathematics education, the system of textbooks and the problems of teaching-learning programs and paper-pencil test.

  • The research focused quantitative comparisons of protocols occurring in the architectural massing process using two different tools, three-dimensional(3D) modeler and traditional design tools, to aid architectural massing education. Through the protocol analysis from some experiments, the research identified the following conclusions: 1) Usage of traditional tools produced much higher protocol rate in proposing solution, evaluating proposed solution, explicitness of strategies. This result seemed to be from convenience of traditional tools causing faster visual cognitive cycle. 2) Usage of 3D modeler produced much higher protocol rate concerning attempts of making design vocabulary. The result indicated 3D modeler has relatively effective functions for mass generation and orientation, however it still has some weaknesses on display interface which cause designer's lower idea generations compared to traditional design tools.
