Innovative Teaching Technologies as a Way to Increase Students' Competitiveness

  • The article presents an analysis of innovative teaching technologies as a way to increase students' competitiveness. The author found that innovative technologies in education are information and communication technologies relying on computer-based learning. The structure, content of educational software, organization of Web-space are important when using innovative teaching technologies in English classes. We conducted the study in several stages: comparative analysis, synthesis, classification and systematization of the results of psychological and pedagogical, educational and methodological research; study of legislative acts, periodicals in order to identify the state of the research issue, and determining the directions of its solution, as well as subject, goal and objectives of the study. We used modelling to create situations of foreign language professional communication of future IT specialists. Empirical methods involved questionnaires used for identifying the motives of professional development and determining the features of the educational activities of future IT specialists in the process of training. The methods of mathematical statistics allowed to scientifically describe and systematize the obtained data, to identify the quantitative relationship between the studied phenomena, to analyse and summarize the results. We conducted a socio-psychological study during 2016 - 2019. It involved 255 first- and fourth-year students of National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Poly-technic Institute." Innovative information and communication technologies that improve the educational and cognitive activity of students, as well as increase the level of their knowledge have become important in teaching a foreign language in higher educational institutions. These technologies include MOODLE - Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment, business game, integrated pedagogical technology, case study technology. Thus, the information-rich learning process in combination with the use of innovative technologies, well-organized e-learning, interactive training courses, multimedia tools improves the program of teaching and learning foreign languages in general, and English in particular, improves the level of knowledge of future IT specialists and motivation to study and learn foreign languages, allows students to use a variety of authentic materials. We state that all these factors influence the process of individualization of learning and contribute to the successful mastery of a foreign language.

  • In industrialised countries, innovation is a key source of economic growth. Research is a key driver of technological innovation and involves the process of systematic investigation and/or experimentation to discover new knowledge. The Governments' industry innovation policy supports a business focus on Research and Development (R&D) through a range of programs in order to achieve these aims. The Innovation Statement (DISR 2000, 20010, launched by the Australian Prime Minister in January 2001, commits an additional $\$3$ billion over five years to encourage and support innovation. The Australian Government aims to build world competitive firms and strong research capability in industry to strengthen Australia's international competitiveness and increase national prosperity. It develops policies and programs to enhance investment in innovation. The Australian Government has establisher a number of R&D funding support programs aimed at increasing the level of R&D in Australia. The backbone of these programs is the tax concession program, which is made up of the 125 per cent R&D tax concession, the 175 per cent premium tax concession and the tax offset. Over 4000 businesses take advantage of the tax concession scheme, which costs the government around $\$400$ million a year. This cost is expected to rise to over half a billion by 2005-06 (Commonwealth of Australia, 2003). Ensuring these resources are invested where they provide significant national economic benefits is a major policy issue. In this sense, this paper looks at the appropriateness, effectiveness and efficiency of the R&D tax concession with costs and benefits analysis.

  • Increasing concern of urban community environment with acceleration of economic growth in modern generation, forcing us to recognize city's environment composition causes important factor for city's spirit. Since implementation of accountability of local government in 1995, local governments are thrives local government activation, compositing financially self support local government and competitiveness by others seeking number of methods for establishing traditional local images. In this study, analyzes cases in street environment facilities to help and support local government developing and applying special features of historical and cultural local images toward street environment facilities in city of Andong. For expression of local image in active installation of street environment facilities will increase tourism and extra value creating self esteem of local people will endures further rapid development of local government. local government seriously consider continuously supporting investment and research in street environment facilities.

Image Positioning for Spa Destinations: Focusing on the Top 10 Spa Destinations in Korea (온천관광지 이미지 포지셔닝: 국내 10대 온천을 중심으로)

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to examine the image similarity and attribute recognition of the top 10 rated spa destinations (Chungnam Deoksan, Chungnam Dogo, Busan Dongrae, Daejeon Yuseong, Chungnam Asan, Gyeongbuk Bomun, Chungbuk Suanbo, Gyeongnam Jangyu, Chungnam Onyang, & Gyeongbol Bugok) in Korea based on the visits to these spa places by the customers. Research design, data, and methodology - The survey of this study was conducted on the visitors to the top 10 spa destinations in Korea from April 8 ~ April 21, 2017, and a total of 300 questionnaires were distributed. Of them, effective questionnaires used in the final study were a total of 241. In this study, empirical analysis was made through frequency analysis, factor analysis, and multidimensional scaling ALSCAL(spinning symmetry for image similarity and rectangle for attributes recognition) by using the Statistics Package SPSS 24.0. Results - According to the analysis result of spa destination image similarity, the stress level was 0.16453 and the level of the stress was good. Moreover, the coefficient of determination (RSQ) was, which had a description of each aspect of the spa destination, 0.79908. According to the results of attribute recognition, the stress value of 0.11805 represents a degree of conformity, and the coefficient of determination(RSQ) appeared at 0.98665. Therefore, the results of this analysis are that the similarities between spa destinations and the attribute recognition of the spa destinations is a suitable model that is properly expressed in two dimensions. Conclusions - First, according to the analysis result of image similarity, Deoksan & Dogo spa revealed similar images, as well as the Dongrae and Yuseong spa, while on the contrary Asan, Bomun, Suanbo spa has different images from the rest. Second, according to the results of attribute recognition, Asan and Onyang spa has competitiveness in terms of accessibility to spa destination; Yuseong, Dongrae, Jangyu spa in terms of spa facilities, spa tourism conditions, and service & shopping conditions. while spa water quality and spa costs showed low attribute reflection for all 10 spas. Therefore, the spa visitors cannot recognize the differentiation of spa water quality and spa costs.

A Comparative Study on the Development Characteristic of Parks and Green Systems between Korea and Japan (한국과 일본 녹지체계의 발전 특성에 대한 연구)

  • Japan has been tried to integrate Western planning theories into its parks and green systems in the past. However this effect has been regarded unsuccessful. One of reasons for this is that the green systems have been treated as an urban facility, instead as systems. Another reason has to deal with greenbelt's stationary and reservation characteristics that make difficulty to respond timely to the rapid urbanization. The parks and green systems in Korea was introduced in 1990 and began to be promoted fully with the 'Parte and Green Master Plan' established in 2005. However, due to its short history, incomplete aspects exist in its philosophy and methods for promoting the system. Based on these experiences, the current green zone plans in Japan considers the green structure as an independent institution and amenity plan, not a tool of urban planning, that can be a medium for realization of urban visions. And main characteristics of this approach are 1) classifying the green structure into four categories in order to respond to urban forms and purposes, 2) pursuing confirmity with urban planning, and 3) executing the landscape plan based upon core green areas. From reviews upon experiences of Japan as well as considerations on demands and conditions of green systems in Korea, we proposed the following five new strategies for the construction of the urban parte and green system in Korea. They are 1) to develop urban parks and green systems into a genre of urban development improving the quality and local competitiveness of cities rather than a means of urban planning; 2) to form the integrated structure of urban green zones; 3) to transform the urban parte and green systems into practical systems as the centers of localities; 4) to raise criteria for planning and execution plans for effective implementations of the urban parte and green systems, and 5) to provide specific guidelines for the construction of urban parks and green systems through organizing research groups or specialists.

  • The establishment of differentiated place image is becoming more important as a cultural tourism development policy in order to secure regional identity and boost regional economy. Place marketing strategies using culturally and historically differentiated regional places is very valuable as part of a regional development strategy to strengthen regional competitiveness. To construct place image as a differentiated brand, place image positioning suitable for a specific place and region needs to be established and comprehensive marketing strategies are required to generate various synergy effects. Based on existing theories and discussions regarding place and place marketing, this study is aimed at seeking for possibility as a cultural activity space and its more efficient use plans by selecting a region which has historical and cultural backgrounds and assets about Hamel's drift and stay. For these purposes, this study investigated historical and cultural backgrounds through a case study and made suggestions about brand making and place image promotion. In addition, this study aimed to examine efficient plans and utilization possibility for comprehensive image construction.

  • In correlation to the rapid growth of Korea's economy and increased international exchange, hotel architecture in Korea has likewise evolutionized in its own distinctive style. Since hotels accomodate foreign visitors, they should be representative of the local architecture in which they reside, to add to the experience of the regions culture. City hotels provide not only primary housing functions but also many different varieties of services. Furthermore, city hotels operate as a focal point for their local communities. Seoul announced special measures for the expansion of accommodations for foreign tourists, and a large number of hotel construction entities have consequently propagated. Unfortunately, the designs for most of these new hotels have failed to reflect their local cultural characteristics, with most having similar designs and programs. As Korea enters an era seeing ten million foreign tourists annually, progressive reform is especially necessary. Space marketing, which is based on strategies of cultural experience, is a crucial element to city boutique hotel planning. It must be applied to satisfy both the cultural needs of its local communities and well as to vitalize the local economy through development of cultural tourism. To date, there have been numerous studies on boutique hotels and space marketing. However, most of these studies are limited to interior designs and artistic trends rather than focusing on the unique architectural and public aspects of their respective cities. In this thesis, the overall aim and strategies of space marketing for the city boutique hotel are analyzed, and the elements of strategies are used for further case analysis. The purpose of this study is to find applicability of Korean boutique hotel development through the result of case studies. Also, this thesis aims to advocate space marketing for Korea's forthcoming boutique hotels, as a means to showcase its unique cultural assets as well as to advance its international appeal and competitiveness.

A Study on the Landscape Attractions Evaluative Systems of Gyeongju Historic Heritage Sites (경주 역사유적지구 매력성 평가지표 개발 연구)

  • This study is an evaluation index development research based on the Gyeongju Historic Heritage Sites to identify the attractive properties of Gyeongju that have helped determine the competitiveness of this historical city. Through literature reviews on these attractive factors of historic urban landscape, the Vienna memos(UNESCO, 2005) and the International Cultural Tourism Charter(ICOMOS, 1999), two professional investigations were conducted following a backup group of attraction indexes that had been received prior. In the end, 22 attraction indexes were chosen in the Urban Historical and Cultural area, the Heritage Resources area, and the Urban Environment area with three aspects based on the analysis of Importance(M), Standard deviation(SD), Content Validity Ratio(CVR), Agreement, and convergence. These indicators will be useful basic information for improving the city's historic charms. In the future, these indicators can be used as a basis for evaluating the characteristic charms of Gyeongju, through which the charm of Gyeongju can be re-recognized.

  • This study analyzed relation with accounting information system operations of more integration and end-user's business processing capabilities. Also, Studied the correlation that has reflecting between business computer skills and training experience level of end-user in practical operation. In summary of this study, first, found out that the improvement and training level of computerized accounting training in mid-size enterprise can be processing more effectively an accounting information business. Second, the end-user training and business development of business processes using the system, the positive impact was significant. Finally, the introduction of the continuous integration system based on new technology analyzed more lower overall performance satisfaction of end-user in the tasks. Business Ability of end-user could be important factor as ongoing business development and training. The results of this study, It can support to effective strategies of end-user systems, will expected to further strengthen competitiveness in the future.

Analysis on changes in work autonomy of content industry workers (콘텐츠산업 인력의 업무 자율성 변화 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze changes in work autonomy of content industry workers using Korea Working Conditions Survey(2010, 2014) and difference-differences estimation method. The results find that there was no significant change in the work autonomy (work order, work method, work speed) of the content industry worker in In the overall sample. On the other hand, analyzing the sample of 30 or more employee establishment size shows that work autonomy of the content industry worker is greatly reduced. Also, work autonomy is high when the rank or capability is high, whereas work autonomy decreases when the establishment size is large. This study implies that the content industry workers have shown quantitatively the reduction of work autonomy. It also suggests that compensation and management systems are needed to enhance the competitiveness of the content industry.
