  • Purpose: Online meeting is chosen instead of face-to-face conferences as a solution that ensures both effectiveness and legality during times of strong epidemic outbreaks. In the current period, managers can have different types of meeting options for information distribution. This study has examined the effect of past behavior on the managers' intention of organizing online meetings. Research design, data and methodology: Data were collected from a survey with 475 managers and put into SmartPLS 4.0 for analysis. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to test relationships in the research model. Results: The findings indicated that past behavior plays the most critical role in explaining the organizing online meeting intention of managers, followed by attitude and subjective norms. Meanwhile, the perceived behavioral control factor has absolutely no effect on intention in the context of this study. Notably, attitude and subjective norms also remarkably mediated the impact of past behavior on managers' intention. Conclusions: This study has added to the understanding of the meeting organization behavior of managers. Even if the epidemic is under control, the administrators should still organize some meetings in the form of online because it will affect the social perceptions of future behavior and behavioral intention.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine attitude of cultural events that affect participation satisfaction and loyalty of cultural events. Although cultural events are increasingly important with its positive impact on event participants, the existing literature on cultural event is sparse. This study, thus, investigates moderating effects of cultural events' involvement in a relationship between attitude of cultural event and participations' satisfaction and loyalty to understand the thoughts and attitude of participants. The survey was undertaken of participants to cultural events in Seoul, resulting in 513 valid responses. Through statistical analyses of factor analysis, multiple regression and hierarchical regression, four different factors of cultural event attitude were identified and those factors affect participation satisfaction and loyalty of cultural events. The results of this study provided support that there were moderated effects of cultural event involvement in the relationships between cultural event attitude and satisfaction and loyalty. More theoretical and practical implication were discussed in the conclusion.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate effects of a comprehensive lifestyle improvement program for middle-aged women with cardio-cerebrovascular disease (CVD)-related risk factors. Methods: The research adopted a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The number of participants was 18 in the experimental group and 16 in the control group sampled among middle-aged women who had CVD-related risk factors residing in a community. The experimental group participated in a four-session comprehensive lifestyle promotion program, which consisted of lectures, demonstrations, small-group meetings and telephone-counseling. The effects of the program were evaluated by measuring knowledge, attitude, health behavior, and self-efficacy for CVD prevention. Results: The experimental group showed a significant increase in self-efficacy for CVD prevention compared to the control group. There was no significant increase in knowledge, attitude, and health behavior. Conclusion: The results suggest that the comprehensive lifestyle improvement program was effective in improving self-efficacy for CVD prevention. There is a need to develop more effective lifestyle improvement programs designed to improve knowledge, attitude, and health behavior for CVD prevention. In further research, a follow-up evaluation is also needed to investigate any delayed effects on targeted variables among which no significant differences emerged immediately after the completion of the program.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of the Korean Wave on Chinese tourism to South Korea through a behavioral analysis of Chinese tourists in the general group package tours. China suppressed the needs of the Chinese people's geographical movement and imposed restrictions on information about the outside world with the use of a policy of "closure" for a long time. But since reforms and open-door policies were introduced in China, especially in the context of relaxation of control policies over Chinese outbound tourism after the mid-1990's, more and more Chinese make trips abroad including visits to South Korea. In this situation, the recent Korean Wave(especially, drama/film) describes the Korean national image by forming a bridge between fiction and reality and plays a pivotal role in broadening or reconstructing the geographical imagination of the Chinese people who have been historically isolated from the outside world. Although Chinese have imagined the Korean nationscape on the basis of geopolitical or economic factors in the past, they have currently broadened or reconstructed their geographical imagination to include socio-cultural factors related closely to the Korean way of life due to the recent Korean Wave. This newly constructed geographical imagination led by the Korean Wave functions as an important pulling factor in Chinese destination choices, affecting Chinese tourists' motivation formation and the recommendation of main attractions. The more influential the Korean Wave is on their destination choice, the more the respondents select the cultural factors in both their motivation for tourism to South Korea and their recommendations of tourism attractions to other people. Through the analysis results of both satisfaction and intention to revisit, the more influential the Korean Wave is on their destination choice, the higher is the degree of both satisfaction and intention to revisit. In other words, although Chinese tourism to South Korea is chiefly in the general group package tours, Chinese tourists who are influenced by Korean Wave on their destination choice have more attachment to(or affection for) Korea as a tourism destination. This result suggests that the Korean Wave affects qualitative change - that is, change of attitude - as well as quantitative change in Chinese demand for tourism to South Korea.

  • Eco-tourism has been recognized as a form of sustainable development that simultaneously satisfies the need for environmental preservation and the activation of local economies. Although some research findings relating to its positive environmental and social effects have been published, there is still controversy regarding its pros and cons in terms of its actual economic benefits, and little research about how they can be increased. Thus, the following research analyzes how the tour activities, attitudes and satisfaction of 314 actual visitors was related with their consumption behaviors, by surveying tourists to Suncheon Bay, a highly popular destination with a large number of visitors. The results are as follows. First, if the tourists were involved in a link-up tour, had prior eco-tourism experience, or had researched information on SunCheon bay eco-tourism before their visit, these were all positively correlated with consumption behaviors, and increased the amount of money they spent. In particular, among tour spending activities, accommodation cost is shown to be highly correlated with tour activities. Second, Free Independent Tourist(FIT) tended to show more positive tour attitudes than package tourists, spending more on accommodation and experience programs. The visitors to SunCheon Bay showed strong environmental attitudes, followed by social and cultural attitudes, and economic attitudes, in that order, and tourists with positive attitudes had a high rate of participation in experience programs. In addition, program participants showed a willingness to donate, and high satisfaction. Therefore, the following thesis proposes that Free Independent Tourist(FIT) should be induced to increase their contribution to the local eco-tourism economy, and highlights the need to develop various experience programs, aggressive advertisements and educational activities.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between perception, perception, and relationship quality through technical analysis of perception of southern food among college students of Namdo area. Through the analysis and empirical analysis, we tried to provide an understanding of local traditional foods and provide them as a basic data for local traditional food as a tourism resource. It directly or indirectly supports the results of previous studies. It directly or indirectly supports the results of previous studies. Therefore, the perception that can be expressed by knowing the characteristics of the local food is expressed by the continuous relationship and maintenance of the local food, so that the trust, the commitment, and the satisfaction expressed as the quality of the relationship can be expressed as the continuing relationship, maintenance and interest. If the meaning of local food and storytelling are given in order to induce growth and development of food tourism as a local food, it will be very helpful for building image of local traditional food. If local food is perceived as a favorable or unattractive attitude, it will be related to meaning and continuous interest and food and beverage behavior as local people such as active interest and pride in local food, It is believed that food will play a big role in the growth and development of tourism resources.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze college students' perception of national natural heritages, including natural monumentsand scenic sites, in comparison with the similar concepts of national parks and eco-landscape preservation areas, to suggest managerial implications to enhance competitiveness. The first objective of this study is to measure their attitude toward traveling each type of natural heritage and to rate the relative importance of the four types of heritages in terms of preservation. Natural monuments were perceived as the most strongly preserved type, while scenic sites were perceived as the least strongly preserved type. The second objective is to conduct a correspondence analysis to match the concepts of four types of natural heritages with 10 tourist attractions representing the types. It was found that college students have difficulty appropriately identifying the types of 10 tourist attractions. In addition, multi-dimensional scaling (MDS) was implemented to identify the similarities and differences of the four types of natural heritages and to produce a positioning map matching the four types of natural heritages with the six attributes representing each type as a tourist attraction. Natural monuments were perceived very differently from scenic sites and not very differently from eco-landscape preservation areas. There were a few associations between the four types of natural heritages and the six tourism attributes, implying that little effort is made to promote and position each type of natural heritage in terms of tourism. In conclusion, a public awareness program is required to enhance the brand image of natural monuments and scenic sites in comparison to national parks and eco-landscape preservation areas. In addition, local residents who live near the natural heritages should be bolstered to play a managerial role as supporters and contents providers for sustainability.
