액상 과망간산칼륨 적용시 육계 깔짚의 특성 평가 (Assessing the Impact of Liquid Potassium Permanganate on Litter Quality of Poultry)

  • The effects of liquid potassium permanganate (KMnO4) on the litter quality of poultry were investigated. Two-hundred-forty 0-day-old broiler chickens (Arbor Acres) were randomly assigned to two treatments with four replicated pens of 30 chickens each. Treatment liquid KMnO4 at a rate of 50 g of liquid KMnO4/kg of poultry litter was sprayed onto the litter surface using a small hand pump; others served as a control that was applied without liquid KMnO4 additions. Compared with controls, the treatment liquid KMnO4 showed no differences in pH, total nitrogen and ammonia concentration. It was concluded that liquid KMnO4 did not significantly increase poultry litter quality. Mechanisms relating to increasing litter pH and ammonia using liquid KMnO4 are an oxidant agent (not acid-foaming agents).

우분 야적시 암모니아 휘산량과 강우에 의한 질소 및 인산 유출량 평가 (Ammonia Emission and Nitrogen and Phosphorous Loss by Rainfall from Cow Manure Pile)

  • For the reduction of ammonia ($NH_3$) volatilization from the cow manure composting process, a cow manure pile was covered with vinyl (white polyethylene) and the ammonia emissions were evaluated using the dynamic chamber system for 47 days. Nitrogen and phosphorus loss from cow manure pile by rainfall was also measured in this study. In the cow manure pile without covering, the amount of $NH_3$ emission was 0.78 N kg/Mg which accounted for 9.4% of total nitrogen contents in the cow manure. Eighty nine percent of the total $NH_3$ emission during experimental period from the cow manure pile without covering was emitted for the first 21 days. The vinyl covering of cow manure pile reduced 91% of $NH_3$ emission compared to the pile without covering. The amounts of nitrogen and phosphorus loss by rainfall from cow manure pile without covering were 1.27 N kg/Mg and 0.23 P kg/Mg for 47 days, respectively. Results from this study demonstrated that vinyl covering of cow manure pile could reduce $NH_3$ emission and loss of nitrogen and phosphorus by rainfall during composting.

  • 한국산 도롱뇽 (Hynobius leechi BOULENGER) 발생배의 질소화합물의 대사를 연구하고져 발생단계에 따른 단백질구성(아미노) 산의 촉진(아미노) 산의 정성적 분석과 질소 배설물(ammonia, urea, uric acid, creatine and/or creatinine, total nitrogen)의 정량분석을 미수정란, 란할배, 포배, 양배, 신경배 및 부화직전의 배에 대하여 행하였다. 1. 발생단계에 따른 발생배내 단백질구성 (아미노산)은 전 단계를 통하여 일양하게 18종씩 검출되어TRh 유리 (아미노산) 은 17 내지 23 종 검출되었으며, 전체적으로 유리(아미노산) 분포상에 큰 변화가 없었다. 2. 발생단계에 따른 질소배설물 분석의 결과는 다음과같다. Ammonia 와 urea 의 배내 함량은 미수정란에서부터 양배까지 점차 감소하여 양배 이후 부화직전배까지 급격히 증가한다. Uric acid의 함량은 전 단계를 통해 미소하였으며 creating and/or creatininie 은 본 실험에서는 검출되지 않았다. 3. 발생단계에 따른 발생배내 ammonia 함량에 대한 sodium azide의 영향은 농도에 따라 이원적인 특이성을 가지고 있었다.

우리나라 서남해안 간척지 및 간석지 토양의 화학적 특성 (III) -질소의 형태별 함량 분포- (Chemical Properties in the Soils of Reclaimed and Natural Tidelands of Southwest Coastal Area of Korea (III) - Distribution of Nitrogens Fractions -)

  • The fractions of nitrogen were investigated in the soils of reclaimed and natural tidelands of southwest coastal area of Korea. The content of total-N varied to ranged form 619 to 5,534 mg/kg dry weight with a mean value of 1,857 mg/kg. The order of different fractions of nitrogen was as follows: Acid non-extractable-N > uncounted-N > acid extractable-N > ammonia-N > nitrate-N. The content of ammonia-N, acid extractable-N, and acid non-extractable-N showed highly negative correlations with pH. The content of acid extractable-N and ammonia-N showed highly positive correlation with clay content.

  • The most harmful nitrogenous compounds in fish-breeding place using are ammonia and nitrate. Excessively high total nitrogen concentration is the signal of unbalance for breeding fishes in seawater and may result overfeeding or overstocking without seawater treatment system. The failure of elimination for the organic ingredients or nitrogen compounds can also cause the consequence of inadequate oxygen concentration in seawater, either. The study shows the effect of biofilter and W disinfector of seawater in the fish- breeding place. In the results, these tools had ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and decreased 71.8%, 27.6% and 1%, respectively, and the total number of microorganisms decreased up to 81.9%.

2중 구조의 PVA/alginate 겔 비드에서의 독립영양 단일공정 질소제거효율 시뮬레이션 (Simulated Nitrogen Removal for Double-Layered PVA/Alginate Structure for Autotrophic Single-Stage Nitrogen Removal)

  • Recently, an autotrophic single-stage nitrogen removal (ASSNR) process based on the anaerobic ammonium oxidation (ANAMMOX) reaction has been proven as an economical ammonia treatment. It is highly evident that double-layered gel beads are a promising alternative to the natural biofilm for ASSNR because of the high mechanical strength of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/alginate structure and efficient protection of ANAMMOX bacteria from dissolved oxygen (DO) due to the thick outer layer. However, the thick outer layer results in severe mass transport limitation and consequent lowered bacterial activity. Therefore, the effects of the thickness of the outer layer on the overall reaction rate were tested in the biofilm model using AQUASIM for ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB), nitrite-oxidizing bacteria (NOB) and ANAMMOX bacteria. A thickness of 0.5~1.0 mm is preferred for the maximum total nitrogen (TN) removal. In addition, a DO of 0.5 mg/L resulted in the best total nitrogen removal. A higher DO induces NOB activity and consequent lower TN removal efficiency. The optimal density of AO B and NO B density was 1~10% for a 10% ANAMMOX bacterial in the double-layered PVA/alginate gel beads. The real effects of operating parameters of the thickness of the outer layer, DO and concentrations of biomass balance should be intensively investigated in the controlled experiments in batch and continuous modes.

퇴비(堆肥)의 전질소(全窒素)와 암모니아 함량(含量)이 양송이 수량(收量)에 미치는 영향(影響) (The Effects of Total Nitrogen and Residual Ammonia Contents of Compost on the Yield of Cultivated Mushroom, Agaricus Bisporus)

  • 양송이 수량을 지배하는 여러인자중에서 퇴비의 전질소 함량과 암모니아 잔류량이 양송이 수량에 미치는 영향을 구명하고자 본시험을 실시한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 퇴비의 전질소 함량과 양송이 수량간에는 y=1395+0.048x$(r=0.68^{**})$의 관계가 있었으며 전질소 함량이 높을수록 암모니아 잔류량도 증가하는 경향이었다. 2. 유기태급원은 무처리나 무기태급원에 비해 퇴비의 전질소가 증가되었으며 수량도 높았다. 3. 퇴비의 암모니아 잔류량과 양송이 수량간에는 $y=0.38086-0.011948x+0.00012x^2(r=-0.75^{**})$의 관계가 있었으며 안전다수확을 위해서는 0.03%(질소함량으로서)를 넘지 않아야 했다. 4. 유안의 사용은 암모니아 잔류량이 높았으며 양송이 수량이 낮은 반면 요소는 그 잔류량이 낮고 수량이 유안에 비해 현저히 높았다.

동애등에(Hermetia illucens) 분말을 오리 사료에 첨가 시 오리 깔짚 특성과 축산환경에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Dietary Hermetia illucens Powder on Duck Litter Quality and Livestock Environment)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of dietary Hermetia illucens powder on duck litter quality. One hundred twenty Pekin ducks (0 day old) were assigned to 2 groups (0% and 0.5% Hermetia illucens powder) with 3 replicates (20 ducks per replicate) for 42 days. Duck litter quality included moisture, pH, VBN, total nitrogen, ammonia, and temperature. Litter pH and VBN values were significantly affected by Hermetia illucens powder (p<0.05). However, moisture and total nitrogen values were not greatly influenced by the addition of 0.5% Hermetia illucens powder (p>0.05). At 21, 28 and 35 days, both 0.5% Hermetia illucens powder and controls had a great effect (p<0.05) on ammonia contents, except at 7, 14 and 42 days. In comparison to control, ammonia contents in groups with 0.5% Hermetia illucens powder were reduced from 16.9 to 41.8% as the days increased. Duck litter showed lower temperature by 0.5% Hermetia illucens powder compare to control. In terms of environmental managements, these results suggest that using 0.5% Hermetia illucens powder as feed additives improved litter quality and decreased ammonia contents.

Theoretical Analysis for Nitrogen Removal in Step Feed Oxic-Anoxic-Oxic Process

  • One of the popular domestic sewage treatment process (called step feed oxic-anoxic-oxic process) for nitrogen removal was analyzed in this study by theoretical analysis based on the nitrification and denitrification reaction. Total nitrogen removal efficiency was suggested by considering influent qualities(i.e., ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, alkalinity, and COD). Total nitrogen removal efficiency depends on r (influent allocation ratio). In the case that all influent components are enough, the total nitrogen removal follows equation 100-b/(1+b), when r is 1/(1+b). Finally, it can be concluded that step feed oxic-anoxic-oxic process could be effective for nitrogen removal.
