This present paper describes a mathematical model of profile elliptical gears, and this model is based on the concepts of envelop theory and conjugate geometry between the blank and the straight-sided rack cutter. The geometric model of the rack cutter includes working regions generating involute curves andd fillets for trocoidal curves, and furthermore the addendum modified coeff,is considered for avoiding undercutting. The addendum modified coeff, is changed linearly along with pitch curves and must be the must be the same absolute value at both major semi-axis and minor semi-axis. If undercutting is at all pronounced, the undercut tooth not only are weakened in strength, but lose a small portion of the involute adjacent to the base circle, then this loss of involute may ncause a serios reduction in the length of contact. A very effective method of avoiding undercutting is to use the so-called profile shifted gearing. Non-undercutting conditon is examined with the change of eccentricity and addendum modefied coeff. in elliptical gears and then the minimum number of tooth is proposed not to gernerate undercutting phenomenon.

This case series evaluated the clinical efficacy of autogenous tooth bone graft material (AutoBT) in alveolar ridge preservation of an extraction socket. Thirteen patients who received extraction socket graft using AutoBT followed by delayed implant placements from Nov. 2008 to Aug. 2010 were evaluated. A total of fifteen implants were placed. The primary and secondary stability of the placed implants were an average of 58 ISQ and 77.9 ISQ, respectively. The average amount of crestal bone loss around the implant was 0.05 mm during an average of 22.5 months (from 12 to 34 months) of functional loading. Newly formed tissues were evident from the 3-month specimen. Within the limitations of this case, autogenous tooth bone graft material can be a favorable bone substitute for extraction socket graft due to its good bone remodeling and osteoconductivity.
Noncarious cervical lesions(NCCLs) are characterized as structural defects found on the tooth surface of the cement-enamel junction. Loss of tooth structure through noncarious mechanisms may vary in etiology and clinical presentation for each individual but presently many clinician now classify this as tooth failure of abfraction due to the stress applied in the cervical area of the tooth under oral physiological and pathological loads. In the current study, we investigated the stress distribution of maxillary premolar with NCCL using simulated 3D finite element analysis. The results were as follows: 1. In the sound maxillary premolar, the stresses were highly concentrated at cervical enamel surface of the mesiobuccal line angle, asymmetrically. 2. Once the lesion has been formed, the highest stress concentration was observed around the apex of the wedge shaped lesion. 3. In four types of NCCL, the patterns of stress distribution were similar and the peak stress was observed at mesial corner and also stresses concentrated at lesion apex. 4. Lesion cavity modification of rounding apex, reduced stress of lesion apex. 5. When restoring the notch-shaped lesion, material with high elastic modulus worked well at the lesion apex and material with low elastic modulus worked well at the cervical cavosurface margin.

In this study, parameters and requirements of an 120kW class monorail planetary gearbox was analysed and the adaptive planetary gearbox design was selected. The specification of the sun gear, planetary gear and carrier was set and the profile & lead was optimized. The mechanical efficiency of the optimized one and the original one was observed. Dynamo-tester system was used to observe the mechanical efficiency of the planetary gearbox. A dynamo unit was connected with the planetary gearbox which straightened through the motor by a coupling. The standard tooth shape planetary gearbox and modified tooth shape planetary gearbox were used as test pieces and the rotation speed was set from 600 to 6000rpm with 600rpm, 2.5min one step. In order to check the mechanical efficiency of the planetary gearbox, the tests were done as follows. 1) The power loss between driving motor and dynamo tester. 2) Temperature variation by different rotation speeds. 3) Noise variation by different rotation speeds.

Autotransplantation is the surgical repositioning of an autogenous erupted or unerupted tooth from one site to another in the same individual. This treatment is indicated in traumatic tooth loss, teeth with severe caries, congenitally missing teeth, teeth with bad prognosis and in case of developmental anomalies of teeth. The following 2 cases describe the potential to utilize autotransplantation to replace hopeless teeth with sound wisdom teeth.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the tooth whitening and properties of an enamel surface after treatments with tooth bleaching agents that contained dicalcium phosphate dihydrate (DCPD) and hydrogen peroxide (HP). Thirty specimens were obtained from fifteen premolar and were randomly divided into three groups (n=10): 1, 3.5% HP + 0 g DCPD; 2, 3.5% HP + 0.1 g DCPD; 3. 3.5% HP + 1 g DCPD. All groups were bleached 8 hours per day for 14 days. With increasing DCPD concentration, the pH values in the agents increased, making it less acidic. However, there was no statistically significant difference (p>.05). As the concentration of DCPD was increased, the concentration of Ca and P was also increased. In all groups, after the tooth whitening, the tooth color was found to have a value of $L^*$ (p<.05). All groups showed significantly decreased enamel microhardness compared to their baseline (p<.05). The percentage microhardness loss (PML) of the group A1 and A2 were significantly lower than that of group A3. The obvious variation of morphology was observed on enamel surfaces in group A1. Following an analysis of the constituents of enamel surface after bleaching, as DCPD content was increased, the amount of Ca and P was increased. In this study, the experimental results suggest that DCPD/HP agent less demineralization changes such as the erosion morphology and hardness loss without compromising whitening efficiency.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the three dimensional changes of tooth movement using four different types of maxillary molar distalization appliances; pendulum appliance (PD), mini-implant supported pendulum appliance (MPD), stainless steel open coil spring (SP) and mini-implant supported stainless steel open coil spring (MSP). Methods: These experiments were performed using the Calorific $machine^{(R)}$ which can simulate dynamic tooth movement. Computed tomography (CT) images of the experimental model were taken before and after tooth movement in 1 mm thicknesses and reconstructed into a three dimensional model using V-works $4.0^{TM}$. These reconstructed images were superimposed using Rapidform $2004^{TM}$ and the direction and amount of tooth movement were measured. Results: The mean reciprocal anchor loss ratio at the first premolar was 17 - 19% for the PD and SP groups. The appliances using mini-implants (MPD or MSP) resulted in less anchorage loss (7 - 8%). On application of a pendulum appliance or MPD, distalization was obtained by tipping rather than by bodily movement. Furthermore, the maxillary second molar tipped distally and bucally. But on application of MSP, distalization was achieved almost by bodily movement. Conclusions: Regarding tooth movement patterns during molar distalization, stainless steel open coil spring with indirect skeletal anchorage was relatively superior to other methods.
Objective: This study was to change of pulp blood flow among maxillary and mandibular anterior tooth with mild crowding and adjacent teeth using Ultrasound Doppler graphy. Methods: The change of pulp blood flow was measured three times using Ultrasound Doppler graphy; before the attachment of brackets, after 3 week, and after 6 week. The sample consists of 15 year old eighteen patients. Results: Before the attachment of brackets, after 3 weeks, and after 6 weeks, there were no significant differences in the change of pulp blood flow in each part (maxilla and mandible) and each tooth according to period. In addition, to compare internal dangerousness of loss of the pulp vitality, when pulp blood flow is compared in each tooth before orthodontic treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in maxillary lateral incisor and mandibular canine but it showed low values in all measurement items (p > 0.05). Conclusions: Results of this study can be not only methodological preliminary data in further study such as tooth movement type of Ultrasound Doppler graphy and particular study considered the patient age, but also reference materials for the loss of pulp vitality in orthodontic treatment.

Although tooth wear is a normal process due to aging, severe tooth wear causes various complications such as increased tooth sensitivity, loss of tooth structure, and pulp complications. In the treatment of patients with excessive tooth wear, the evaluation of loss of vertical occlusal dimension should be prioritized. If it is necessary to increase the vertical dimension to secure the restoration space, it is important to establish a treatment plan with the comprehensive analysis and determine the minimum vertical dimension elevation. In this case, 66-year-old male patient with severe worn dentition wanted to restore masticatory function and improve esthetic restoration. In order to determine the appropriate vertical dimension of the patient, we evaluated oral examination, radiographic examination, and diagnostic cast examination, and performed rehabilitation with minimum vertical dimension elevation. As a result of observation for 8 months, the definitive prosthesis was completed with contact of all teeth in centric occlusion, and proper anterior/posterior guidance. Through the above process, satisfactory aesthetic and functional outcomes were obtained.

Supernumerary teeth are dental abnormalies in the permanent dentition and the primary dentition. The etiology is unclear, but it may occur due to dichotomy of the tooth bud or hyperactivity of dental lamina. They occur more in the permanent dentition than in the primary dentition, with the most common site being the premaxillary area. Supernumerary teeth can be classified by morphology and position. Supplemental tooth refers to normal shape tooth. The treatment of supernumerary teeth depends on its shape, position, effect on dentition, and child's physiological condition. In this case, supernumerary primary tooth in the maxillary molar area was revealed by radiographical and clinical examination, but it was difficult to determine which is the supernumerary tooth. The tooth on the mesial side was extracted to induce the formation of adequate space and to prevent excessive space loss, and the result was favorable.
