The Tolerance Stack Analysis of the Model Involving Position Tolerance (위치공차를 포함한 모형의 틈새분석 연구)

  • It is the basic requirement of design process of parts assembly to specify geometric dimensions and tolerances of product characteristics. Among them, tolerance stack analysis is one of the important methods to specify tolerance zone. Tolerance stack analysis is to calculate gap using tolerances which includes geometric and coordinate dimensions. In this study, we suggested more general method called the virtual method to analyze tolerance stack. In virtual method, tolerance zone is formed by combination of dimensional tolerance, geometric tolerance and bonus tolerance. Also tolerance zone is classified by virtual boundary condition and resultant boundary condition. So gap can be defined by combination of virtual boundary and/or resultant boundary. Several examples are used to show the effectiveness of new method comparing to other methods.

  • Quality of manufactured goods under mass production system depends largely upon accuracy rate of quality control. Tolerance analysis is a useful method to set up a guide for inspection of product. However it usually would happen that strict tolerance provoke very high manufacturing cost. It is the main concern of tolerance analysis to find optimal values of tolerance to satisfy both quality and cost. This paper presents three tolerance analysis methods and its corresponding results upon automobile steering system to analysis the merits and demerits of each method.

Therefore, there are many tolerance stack analysis method to explain tolerance zone. Tolerance stack analysis is to calculate gap using tolerances which includes geometric and coordinate dimension. In this study, we compared several different stack analysis method and try to suggest more general method called the Virtual Method to analyze tolerance stack.

  • This paper presents a method of tolerance analysis for a electric machine. Tolerance analysis technique is required to find the tolerance band of design variables and estimate the characteristic distribution of the electric machine, because that manufacturing tolerances as well as measuring errors have a great influence on the electric machine. Therefore, this paper introduces Stochastic Response Surface Methodology to achieve the tolerance analysis. As an example, the tolerance analysis is applied to the analysis of torque characteristics for a BLDC motor from the electric point of view.

  • Analytical method to analyze the effect of tolerance on the modal characteristic of multi-body systems in dynamic equilibrium position is suggested in this paper. Monte-Carlo Method is conventionally employed to perform the tolerance analysis. However, Monte-Carlo Method spends too much time for analysis and has a greater or less accuracy depending on sample condition. To resolve these problems, an analytical method is suggested in this paper. By employing the sensitivity information of mass, damping and stiffness matrices, the sensitivities of damped natural frequencies and the transfer function can be calculated at the dynamic equilibrium position. The effect of tolerance on the modal characteristic can be analyzed from tolerance analysis method.

Influencing Factors on the Nurse's Shiftwork Tolerance (간호사의 교대근무내성 영향요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors affecting shiftwork tolerance among nurses and provide basic data, ultimately, in formulating a plan for improving their shiftwork tolerance. Methods: The participants were 317 nurses who were working at three general hospitals in Daejeon and Seoul. Data analyzed t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and regression analysis using SPSS 20.0 program. Results: As for the sub-areas of shiftwork tolerance for the respondents, more than a half of nurses working at shifts suffered from insomnia, felt drowsy, complained of chronic fatigue, and were at the anxious and depressed state. Shiftwork tolerance differed by the daily intake of coffee and exercise. Shiftwork tolerance was significantly positively correlated with sleep-wake habits, hardiness, and flexibility and negatively correlated with a languidity. Regression analysis revealed that shiftwork tolerance was affected by age, sleep-wake habits, languidity, flexibility, and hardiness. Conclusion: To put the results, nurses had shiftwork tolerance affected by sleep-wake habits, languidity, and hardiness. It is therefore necessary to make a scheme for allowing nurses to improve hardiness and flexibility and decrease the languidity with the objective of improving their shiftwork tolerance.

  • In this paper, the vibration load and analysis results for automotive battery supporter were performed to provide efficient vibration tolerance performance prediction methods for single-product vibration tolerance testing, and the major influencing factors and considerations for setting up single-unit vibration tolerance tests were reviewed. A common applicable standard load was applied to efficiently predict the performance of single-unit vibrations through the frequency response analysis technique. The results similar to test results can be predicted by checking vulnerable parts of the vehicle components for vibration loads and applying scale factor to standard loads. In addition, it was confirmed that the test conditions with a frequency generating the same durability severity as the endurance test are needed for accurate prediction of the durability of the single-unit vibration tolerance test conditions, and the acceleration and frequency with the conditions that there is no significant nonlinear phenomena in the vibration system are established during the single-unit vibration tolerance test conditions.

  • Tolerance accumulation has serious effect on the performance of an assembled body. This paper proposes the method which analyzes tolerance accumulation using Monte Carlo Simulation. This method can predict tolerance distribution of fully assembled body using the dimensional tolerance distribution of each part to be assembled. In this analysis, it is assumed that the tolerance of each part has the nominal distribution or uniform distribution. This analysis method is applied to ECV(External Control Valve), and the accumulated tolerance of the fully assembled ECV is obtained from the analysis. The results show that initial tolerance given to each part do not meet the design requirement of ECV. Hence, the tolerances of each part are modified and the additional analysis with the modified tolerances yields the results which satisfy the design requirements of ECV.
