  • We propose a strategy to manage temporal data which are occurred on scientific applications. Firstly, We define LB and RB to separate temporal data, and entity versions to be stored in past, current, future segments. Also, We describe an algorithm to migrate temporal data with hotspot distribution among segments. The performance evaluation of average response time and space utilization is conducted. Average response time between two methods is similar, and space is saved in proposed method.

  • Unsteady three-dimensional reacting flowfield generated by transverse hydrogen injection into a supersonic mainstream is numerically investigated using DES and finite-rate chemistry model. Comparisons are made with experimental results to investigate the turbulent reacting flow physics. The numerical OH distribution describes well the experimental OH-PLIF result, while the numerical ignition delay time shows some disparity due to the restricted available experimental data. The intermittency phenomena are identified by the comparative analysis between RANS and DES. Those effects are also quantified by the temperature distributions along streamlines and superimposed OH mass fraction along with time.

  • A Head-Up-Display is an avionic equipment to identify targets and flight data at same time the pilot looks over the external environment outside canopy. The HUD displays various symbols to depend on avionic mode which is composed of navigation mode, air-to-air mode, air-to-ground mode. In air-to-air mode, HUD should provide the intuitive symbols for pilot to aim the target exactly in a short time. In this paper, we propose a design method to improve the visibility of the HUD Symbols.

  • The lunar surface progressively darkens and reddens as a result of sputtering from solar wind particles and bombardment of micrometeoroids. The extent of exposure to these space weathering agents is frequently calculated as the location in a diagram of reflectance at 750 nm vs. 950 nm/750 nm color (R-C). Sim & Kim (2018) examined the R-C trends of pixels within ~3,500 craters, and revealed that the length (L) and skewness (s) of R-C trends can be employed as a secondary age or maturity indicator. We broaden this research to general lunar surface areas (3,400 tiles of 0.25° × 0.25° size) in 218 mare basalt units, whose ages have been derived from the size-frequency distribution analysis by Hiesinger et al. (2011). We discover that L and s rise with age until ~3.2 Gyr and reduce rather rapidly afterward, while the optical maturity, OMAT, reduces monotonically with time. We show that in some situations, when not only OMAT but also L and s are incorporated in the estimation utilizing 750 & 950 nm photometry, the age estimation becomes considerably more reliable. We also observed that OMAT and the lunar cratering chronology function (cumulative number of craters larger than a certain diameter as a function of time) have a relatively linear relationship.

  • Housing distribution rate in our country has been continuously increased with economic growth, but residential plans satisfying the demands of residents are still not perfect yet. The demands of residents can be predicted by analyzing the housing viewpoint of residents. And also, the housing viewpoint can change according to various environmental changes, so it's important for us to understand the trend of change. Therefore, the housing viewpoints of university students who will be subjective residents of houses in future were analyzed by observing change due to trend of time. Target for this study is female university students in 20s. A portion of previously presented material (Korean Home Economics Association 37,1, 67-78) was used as data for 1998 and a questionnaire with 171 female university students was conducted on December 2008 for data for 2008. The following result was drawn from examination of change in the housing viewpoint due to trend of time by comparing the housing viewpoint of university students between 1998 and 2008. First, importance of was decreased and importance of was increased in functions of residence. Second, Most students thought and regardless of the time passage as their opinions on housing. And also, most students considered a living room as the most important space inside of a house regardless of the time passage and the ratio of considering a living room as the most important space was more increased.

  • Resistivity tomography is very effective geophysical method to find out the resistivity distribution and its change in time around a tunnel. Thus, the resistivity tomogram can provide helpful information which is necessary for the effective maintenance of the tunnel. However, an air filled tunnel severely distorts tomography data, especially when the current or potential electrode is placed near the tunnel. Moreover, the distortion can often lead to misinterpretation of tomography monitoring data. To solve these problem, we developed a resistivity modeling and time-lapse inversion program which include a tunnel. In this study, using the developed program we assured that the inversion including a tunnel gives much more accurate image around a tunnel, compared with the conventional tomogram where the tunnel is not included. We also confirmed that the time-lapse inversion of resistivity monitoring data defines well resistivity changed areas around a tunnel in time.

  • Background: Citizen science is becoming a mainstream approach of baseline data collection to monitor biodiversity and climate change. Dragonflies (Odonata) have been ranked as the highest priority group in biodiversity monitoring for global warming. Ischnura senegalensis Rambur has been designated a biological indicator of climate change and is being monitored by the citizen science project "Korean Biodiversity Observation Network." This study has been performed to understand changes in the distribution range of I. senegalensis in response to climate change using citizen science data in South Korea. Results: We constructed a dataset of 397 distribution records for I. senegalensis, ranging from 1980 to 2020. The number of records sharply increased over time and space, and in particular, citizen science monitoring data accounted for the greatest proportion (58.7%) and covered the widest geographical range. This species was only distributed in the southern provinces until 2010 but was recorded in the higher latitudes such as Gangwon-do, Incheon, Seoul, and Gyeonggi-do (max. Paju-si, 37.70° latitude) by 2020. A species distribution model showed that the annual mean temperature (Bio1; 63.2%) and the maximum temperature of the warmest month (Bio5; 16.7%) were the most critical factors influencing its distribution. Future climate change scenarios have predicted an increase in suitable habitats for this species. Conclusions: This study is the first to show the northward expansion in the distribution range of I. senegalensis in response to climate warming in South Korea over the past 40 years. In particular, citizen science was crucial in supplying critical baseline data to detect the distribution change toward higher latitudes. Our results provide new insights on the value of citizen science as a tool for detecting the impact of climate change on ecosystems in South Korea.

  • Nowadays, as the environmental pollution becomes severe on the earth, the water resource which can be used practically is dried up because of the natural disaster. And so, this is the time to be necessary to have the method for saving the water resource. This study investigates the distributions of velocity and temperature by the flow analysis inside the faucet models for bathroom. Model 3 has the most uniform distribution of temperature after mixing among all models. As model 3 has the smallest velocity distribution and the biggest space to mix by comparing the other models, it is seen to have the most influence on the discharged velocity of water and save the water. As the space of various configuration inside faucet model for bathroom is made by using the result of this study, it is thought to utilize at the development of this model in which more mixing becomes and the water can be saved. And it is possible to be grafted onto the convergence technique at design and show the esthetic sense.

  • The Pyramid-Technique is based on mapping n-dimensional space data into one-dimensional data and expresses it as a B+-tree. By solving the problem of search time complexity the pyramid technique also prevents the effect of "phenomenon of dimensional curse" which is caused by treatment of hypercube range query in n-dimensional data space. The SPY-TEC applies the space division strategy in pyramid method and uses spherical range query suitable for similarity search so that Improves the search performance. However, nearest neighbor query is more efficient than range query because it is difficult to specify range in similarity search. Previously proposed index methods perform well only in the specific distribution of data. In this paper, we propose an efficient searching technique for nearest neighbor object using PdR-Tree suggested to improve the search performance for high dimensional data such as multimedia data. Test results, which uses simulation data with various distribution as well as real data, demonstrate that PdR-Tree surpasses both the Pyramid-Technique and SPY-TEC in views of search performance.rformance.
