  • Recently, it is proved that contactless smart-card based RFID tags, which is used for proximity authentication, are vulnerable to relay attacks with various location-based attacks such as distance fraud, mafia fraud and terrorist fraud attacks. Moreover, distance bounding protocols have been researched to prevent these relay attacks that can measure the message transmitted round-trip time between the reader and the tag. In 2005, Hancke and Kuhn first proposed an RFID distance bounding protocol based on secure hash function. However, the Hancke-Kuhn protocol cannot completely prevent the relay attacks because an adversary has (3/4)$^n$ attack success probability. Thus, this paper proposes a new distance-bounding protocol for light-weight RFID systems that can reduce to (5/8)$^n$ for the adversary's attack success probability. As a result, the proposed protocol not only can provide high-space efficient based on a secure hash function and XOR operation, but also can provide strong security against the relay attacks because the adversary's attack success probability is optimized to (5/8)$^n$.

  • The study of wave propagation and scattering in biological media has become increasingly important in recent years. The propagation of light within tissues is an important problem that confronts the dosimetry of therapeutic laser delivery and the development of diagnostic spectroscopy. In the clinical application of photodynamic therapy(PDT) and in photobiology, the photon deposition within a tissue determines the spatial distribution of photochemical reactions. Scattered light is measured as a function of the distance (r) between the axis of the incident beam and the detection spot. Consequently, knowledge of the photosensitizer(Chlorophyll-a) function that characterizes a phantom is measured. To obtain the results of scattering coefficients(${\mu}s$) of a turbid material from diffusion described by experimental approach. It was measured the energy fluency of photon radiation at the position of penetration depth. From fluorescence experimental method obtained the analytical expression for the scattered light as the values of $(I/I_o)_{wavelength}$ vs the distance between the center of the incident beam and optical fiber in terms of the condition of "in situ spectroscopy(optically thick)" and real time by fluorometric measurements. The result was compromised with transport of intensities though a random distribution of scatters.

  • We propose a method for improving detection speed of small target detection system using SAD algorithm. First, the proposed method deletes clutters using a median filter. Next, it does closing and opening operation using various size of structure elements, and extracts candidate pixels for a target with subtraction operation between the results of closing and opening operation. It finally detects a small target using a gaussian distance function from the candidate pixels. To improve detection speed, it detects a target performing SAD algorithm only for the predicted target areas for next every 7 frames. The proposed method not only enables a real time process because it considers only predicted area but also shows detecting rate of 97%.

  • The web-based distance education has some problems in managing students despite the merit of getting over the problem of time and space compared with the classroom education or residential course. These problems make the web-based distance learners difficult in achieving the purpose and the standard of goal. And they drive the manager in charge of the web-based distance education into worries. The manager of the distance education should keep on monitoring students' participation and response, and then give the appropriate feedback to the students. But, the existing distance education system neglects to support efficient management function, for it puts emphasis on the activity of teaching and learning. Therefore, the purposes of this study are to extract the factors that are necessary to manage the distance education for training teachers, to realize the effective management system which can offer a proper feedback in the distance education for training teachers through the application of those factors to the training program, to make it possible to change the management system flexibly according to the curriculum and the computing setting.

  • This study suggests new synthetic unit hydrograph method considering hydrodynamic characteristic on the basin. The suggested method based on width function GIUH, and the procedure is summarized as follows; 1) Draw up a travel distance distribution map (width function) which is raster of length between from center of individual cells to the outlet by GIS. 2) Calculation of travel time distribution map (rescaled width function) by hydrodynamic parameters and travel distance distribution map. 3) Derivation of IUH and Duration UH from rescaled width function. 4) Comparison of shape of UH between suggested method and existing synthetic unit hydrograph methods. The target basins are selected Ipyeong and Tanbu subwatershed in the Bocheong Basin. The target basins are similar scale (watershed area), but different drainage structure (drainage density et al.). Therefore we anticipate that there are different hydrologic response functions because different hydrodynamic characteristics. As a result of derivation of UH, existing synthetic unit hydrograph methods are similar shape of UHs about Ipyeong and Tanbu watersheds, but the suggested method is different shape of ones. As a result of application to observed data, the peak discharge by suggested method is similar to existing synthetic unit hydrograph methods, but the peak time is well correspondence between those. Henceforth, if the suggested method combines with the rational velocity estimation method, it is useful method for synthetic of UH in ungauged watershed.

  • This paper presents an implementation of real-time speaker localization using audio-visual information. Four channels of microphone signals are processed to detect vertical as well as horizontal speaker positions. At first short-time average magnitude difference function(AMDF) signals are used to determine whether the microphone signals are human voices or not. And then the orientation and distance information of the sound sources can be obtained through interaural time difference and interaual level differences. Finally visual information by a camera helps get finer tuning of the speaker orientation. Experimental results of the real-time localization system show that the performance improves to 99.6% compared to the rate of 88.8% when only the audio information is used.

  • This paper is concerned with a novel heuristic algorithm for the multi-trip vehicle routing problem with time windows. The objective function is the minimization of total vehicle operating time, fixed cost of vehicle and the minimization of total lateness of customer. A mixed integer programming formulation and a heuristic algorithm for a practical use are suggested. A heuristic algorithm is constructed two phases such as clustering and routing. Clustering is progressed in order to assign appropriate vehicle to customer, and then vehicle trip and route are decided considering traveling distance and time window. It is shown that the suggested heuristic algorithm gives good solutions within a short computation time by experimental result.
