The mobility in strained Si inversion layer on $Si_{1-x}Ge_x$ is calculated considering a quantum effect(subband energy and wavefunction) in inversion layer and relaxation time approximation. The quantum effect in inversion layer is obtained by using self-consistent calculation of $Schr\ddot{o}dinger$ and Poisson equations. For the relaxation time, intravalley and intervalley scatterings are considered. The result shows that the reason for the enhancement in mobility as Ge mole fraction increases is that the electron mobility in 2-폴드 valleys is about 3 times higher than that of 4-폴드 valleys and most electrons are located in 2-폴드 valleys as Ge mole fraction increases. Meanwhile, for the phonon-limited mobility the fitting to experimental data, Coulomb and surface roughness mobilities are included in total mobility, Deformation potentials are selected for the calculated effective field, temperature, and Ge mole fraction dependent mobilities to be fitted to experimental data, and then upgraded data can be obtained by considering nonparabolicity in Si band structure.
The root pile system is insitu soil reinforcement technique that uses a series of reticulately installed micropiles. In terms of mechanical improvement by means of grouted reinform ming elements, the root pile system is similar to the soil nailing system. The main difference between root piles and soil nailing are due to the fact that the reinforcing bars in root piles are normally grouted under high pressure and that the alignments of the reinforcing members differ. Recently, the root pile system has been broadly used to stabilize slopes and retain excavations. The accurate design of the root pile system is, however, a very difficult tass owing to geometric variety and statical indetermination, and to the difficulty in the soilfiles interaction analysis. As a result, moat of the current design methods have been heavily dependent on the experiences and approximate approach. This paper proposes a quasi-three dimensional method of analysis for the root pile system applied to the stabilization of slopes. The proposed methods of analysis include i) a technique to estimate the change in borehole radium as a function of the grout pressure as well as a function of the time when the grout pressure is applied, ii) a technique to evaluate quasi -three dimensional limit-equilibrium stability for sliding, iii) a technique to predict the stability with respect to plastic deformation of the soil between adjacent root piles, and iv) a quasi -three dimensional finite element technique to compute stresses and dis placements of the root pile structure barred on the generalized plane strain condition and composite unit cell concept talon형 with considerations of the group effect and knot effect. By using the proposed technique to estimate the change in borehole radius as a function of the grout pressure as well as a function of the time, the estimations are made and compar ed with the Kleyner 8l Krizek's experimental test results. Also by using the proposed quasi-three dimensional analytical method, analyses have been performed with the aim of pointing out the effects of various factors on the interaction behaviors of the root pile system.
Soil disturbance induced by installation of mandrel driven vertical drains decreases the in situ horizontal hydraulic conductivity of the soil in the vicinity of the drains, decelerating the consolidation rate. According to available literature, several different profiles for the hydraulic conductivity variation with the radial distance from the vertical drain, influencing the excess pore water pressure dissipation rate, have been identified. In addition, it is well known that the visco-plastic properties of the soil also influence the excess pore water pressure dissipation rate and consequently the settlement rate. In this study, a numerical solution adopting an elastic visco-plastic model with nonlinear creep function incorporated in the consolidation equations has been developed to investigate the effects of disturbed zone properties on the time dependent behaviour of soft soil deposits improved with vertical drains and preloading. The employed elastic visco-plastic model is based on the framework of the modified Cam-Clay model capturing soil creep during excess pore water pressure dissipation. Besides, nonlinear variations of creep coefficient with stress and time and permeability variations during the consolidation process are considered. The predicted results have been compared with V$\ddot{a}$sby test fill measurements. According to the results, different variations of the hydraulic conductivity profile in the disturbed zone result in varying excess pore water pressure dissipation rate and consequently varying the effective vertical stresses in the soil profile. Thus, the creep coefficient and the creep strain limit are notably influenced resulting in significant changes in the predicted settlement rate.
To investigate the cellular growth traits of a photosynthetic green algae, Chlorella pyrenoidosa, several tests upon a culture temperature, a culture time, the influence of nutrient and the intensity of illumination were executed. Using growth chamber, some optimal conditions for the culture of algae were as follows: The culture temperature was about $28^{\circ}C$, the culture time about 4 days, and the cellular growth of algae was in proportioned to the concentration of nutrient such as nutrient broth. And the more the intensity of illumination was increased, the more the algal cell showed good growth. And then, the activity of enzyme degrading acetaldehyde was also studied using HPLC from the same strain. This enzyme was dependent on $\beta$-$NAD^+$. And showed its optimal pH around on 9.0, and also its optimal temperature around at $40^{\circ}C$. The operational conditions of HPLC were as follows: Column, ODS-Hypersil ; mobile phase, 50% (v/v) acetonitrile.
System response times(SRTs) are getting important while increasing the function of system. In the past, most research studied SRTs on situation of computer usage. There are lacking the research on simple domain. This study focuses on behavioral and emotional effect on situation of cell phone usage(experience 1; independent variables: degree of SRTs, dependent variables: behavioral and emotional evaluation). And this study investigates the behavioral and emotional effect in same SRTs on different situation(experience 2; independent variables: degree of SRTs, usage mode, dependent variables: behavioral and emotional evaluation, stress, mental strain). The result indicated that long SRTs increased problem solving time and negative emotion. User evaluated the system differently according to usage mode after they performed the same task. In other word, if user had a strong goal, then they felt more negative emotion and mental effort than the user don't have a strong goal. In the goal mode group, it was important there are being of delay or not. This study demonstrated that SRTs and usage mode influence user's emotion and behavior performance in same task.
H-NS binds to promoter DNA and works as a general transcription silencer. DicA protein, by binding to the promoter DNA of dicA, activates dicA expression and at the same time inhibits expression of dicF and dicB, thus, exerting cell division control in Escherichia coli. H-NS complexed with a nucleoid protein Cnu was known to be involved in dicA expression. However, the exact nature of H-NS binding to dicA promoter DNA and the consequences of H-NS binding in expression of dicA is not clear. In this study, we explored the DNA binding activity of H-NS on the promoter DNA of dicA and found that H-NS binding occurs exclusively to the dicA promoter DNA. We never observed, however, H-NS binding at the vicinity of the dicA promoter. Temperature dependent oligomerization of H-NS was observed during DNA binding and the Cnu protein enhances the oligomerization process of H-NS binding. In vivo measurement of dicA expression in an hns deleted strain showed that dicA expression increased. These results demonstrated that H-NS binds specifically to dicA promoter DNA and functions as a transcription silencer.
Background: Our previously prepared ceftiofur (CEF) hydrochloride oily suspension shows potential wide applications for controlling swine Streptococcus suis infections, while the irrational dose has not been formulated. Objectives: The rational dose regimens of CEF oily suspension against S. suis were systematically studied using a pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic model method. Methods: The healthy and infected pigs were intramuscularly administered CEF hydrochloride oily suspension at a single dose of 5 mg/kg, and then the plasma and pulmonary epithelial lining fluid (PELF) were collected at different times. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), minimal bactericidal concentration, mutant prevention concentration (MPC), post-antibiotic effect (PAE), and time-killing curves were determined. Subsequently, the area under the curve by the MIC (AUC0-24h/MIC) values of desfuroylceftiofur (DFC) in the PELF was obtained by integrating in vivo pharmacokinetic data of the infected pigs and ex vivo pharmacodynamic data using the sigmoid Emax (Hill) equation. The dose was calculated based on the AUC0-24h/MIC values for bacteriostatic action, bactericidal action, and bacterial elimination. Results: The peak concentration, the area under the concentration-time curve, and the time to peak for PELF's DFC were 24.76 ± 0.92 ㎍/mL, 811.99 ± 54.70 ㎍·h/mL, and 8.00 h in healthy pigs, and 33.04 ± 0.99 ㎍/mL, 735.85 ± 26.20 ㎍·h/mL, and 8.00 h in infected pigs, respectively. The MIC of PELF's DFC against S. suis strain was 0.25 ㎍/mL. There was strong concentration-dependent activity as determined by MPC, PAE, and the time-killing curves. The AUC0-24h/MIC values of PELF's DFC for bacteriostatic activity, bactericidal activity, and virtual eradication of bacteria were 6.54 h, 9.69 h, and 11.49 h, respectively. Thus, a dosage regimen of 1.94 mg/kg every 72 h could be sufficient to reach bactericidal activity. Conclusions: A rational dosage regimen was recommended, and it could assist in increasing the treatment effectiveness of CEF hydrochloride oily suspension against S. Suis infections.

In this study, we attempted to characterize the physiological response to oxidative stress by heat shock in Saccharomyces cerevisiae KNU5377 (KNU5377) that ferments at a temperature of $40^{\circ}C$. The KNU5377 strain evidenced a very similar growth rate at $40^{\circ}C$ as was recorded under normal conditions. Unlike the laboratory strains of S. cerevisiae, the cell viability of KNU5377 was affected slightly under 2 hours of heat stress conditions at $43^{\circ}C$. KNU5377 evidenced a time-dependent increase in hydroperoxide levels, carbonyl contents, and malondialdehyde (MDA), which increased in the expression of a variety of cell rescue proteins containing Hsp104p, Ssap, Hsp30p, Sod1p, catalase, glutathione reductase, G6PDH, thioredoxin, thioredoxin peroxidase (Tsa1p), Adhp, Aldp, trehalose and glycogen at high temperature. Pma1/2p, Hsp90p and $H^+$-ATPase expression levels were reduced as the result of exposure to heat shock. With regard to cellular fatty acid composition, levels of unsaturated fatty acids (USFAs) were increased significantly at high temperatures ($43^{\circ}C$), and this was particularly true of oleic acid (C18:1). The results of this study indicated that oxidative stress as the result of heat shock may induce a more profound stimulation of trehalose, antioxidant enzymes, and heat shock proteins, as well as an increase in the USFAs ratios. This might contribute to cellular protective functions for the maintenance of cellular homeostasis, and may also contribute to membrane fluidity.
Thermal cracks are occured when thermal stress due to the hydration of cement exceeds the
tens~le strength of concrete. Since crackmg causes poor durability of concrete, the effect of ther
ma1 cracking should be includod for the design and construction of massive concrete structures.
In this study, an experiment is performed for the investigation of time dependent thermal
stress history. In order to evaluate thermal stress. two methods are employed. One 1s the evaluation
method of thermal stress based on the measurement from embedment stram gauge with
non-stress strain gauge and the other 1s based on the measurement from concrete stress gauge.
As a result of this study, the value corrected by the former shows good agreement with the
latter. The validity of the proposed method for the evaluation of thermal stress 1s explored.

To examine the growth-phase dependent control of Escherichia coli rnpB gene we used a combination of Northern analysis for RNA determination and Southern analysis for plasmid DNA determination. The relative amounts of metabolically unstable transcript derived from the internally deleted rnpB gene harbored on a multicopy plasmid as well as the relative plasmid contents were measured by Northern analysis and Southern analysis, respectively, of total nucleic acids from E coli cells containing the plasmid. The relative transcription activity of the rnB was represented by a ratio of the relative amount of the transcript to that of the plasmid DNA during bacterial growth. The rnpB transcription increased rapidly with time during exponential growth, but started to decrease before the transition period of an exponential growing cell culture into the stationary phase. Although the expression pattern was similar to the changes of ${\beta}-galactosidase$ activity expressed from the lysogenic strain carrying the chromosomal rnpB-lacZ fusion which were shown in a previous work, the present data appears to represent a more actual growth-phase control of the rnpB transcription than the previous data by the ${\beta}-galactosidase$ assay. In addition the present method described for a direct analysis of both RNA and plasmid DNA provides a rapid and efficient method that can applied to an examination of transcription control by using a multicopy plasmid.
