Tunable Photonic Microwave Band-pass Filter with High-resolution Using XGM Effect of an RSOA

  • We propose and experimentally demonstrate a simple tunable photonic microwave band-pass filter with high resolution using a reflective semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA) and an optical time-delay line. The RSOA is used as a gain medium for generating cross-gain modulation (XGM) effect as well as an optical source. The optical source provides narrow spectral width by self-injection locking the RSOA in conjunction with a partial reflection filter with specific center wavelength. Then, when the RSOA is operated in the saturation region and the modulated recursive signal is injected into the RSOA, the recursive signal is inversely copied to the injection locked optical source due to the XGM effect. Also, the tunability of the passband of the proposed microwave filter is shown by controlling an optical time-delay line in a recursive loop.

MILD 연소 환경에서 CO/H2 첨가에 따른 CH4의 점화 지연 시간의 해석적 연구 (Numerical Study on Ignition Delay Time of CH4 as CO/H2 Addition in MILD Combustion)

  • MILD(Moderate or Intense Low-oxygen Dilution) 연소는 열에너지 분야에서 배출되는 미연 탄소와 질소 산화물을 저감하기 위한 기술로, 친환경 열 에너지 생산 기술로 평가받고 있다. MILD 연소 기술은 반응물의 예열을 통한 자발화 현상을 이용하여, 연소 반응 영역을 확장시키는 것이 핵심이다. 본 연구는 CH4와 공기를 활용하여 반응물의 초기 온도 변화와 CO, H2의 혼합율에 따른 CH4의 점화 지연 시간을 수치 해석적 접근을 통해 분석하였다. 점화 지연 시간은 초기 온도와 H2 혼합율이 높을수록 감소하였고, CO 혼합율이 높을수록 증가하였다. 이는 H2 첨가 시 초기에 높은 분율의 HO2가 메틸 라디칼(CH3)의 분해 반응을 촉진시켜 OH를 생성하였기 때문이며, CO 첨가 시 HCO 생성에 따른 H 라디칼 소모가 증가했기 때문이다. 하지만 HCO의 생성은 점화 지연 시간에 큰 영향을 주지 않았다. 또한 연료 내 CO와 H2를 30% 혼합한 조건에서는, NO 배출량이 각각 7%, 1% 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 이는 CO를 혼합한 조건에서 초기에 높은 NCO가 NO 생성반응률 증가에 영향을 미쳤기 때문이다.

  • 본 논문은 고출력 전자파에 따른 CMOS IC 소자의 피해 효과와 회복 시간을 알아보았다. 고출력 전자파 발생 장치는 마그네트론을 사용하였고, CMOS 인버터의 오동작/부동작 판별법은 유관 식별이 가능한 LED 회로로 구성하였다. 그리고 고출력 전자파에 의해 오동작된 CMOS 인버터의 전원 전류와 회복 시간을 관찰하였다. 그 결과, 전계 강도가 약 9.9 kV/m에서의 전원 전류는 정상 전류의 2.14배가 증가하였다. 이는 래치업에 의한 CMOS 인버터가 오작동된 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, COMS 인버터의 파괴는 컴포넌트, 온칩와이어, 그리고 본딩 와이어에서 다른 형태로 관찰하였다 위 실험 결과로, 전자 장비의 고출력 전자파 장해에 대한 이해를 돕는데 기초 자료로 활용될 것으로 예측된다.

자발화된 층류 부상화염에 대한 점화지연시간의 영향 (Effect of Ignition Delay Time on Autoignited Laminar Lifted Flames)

  • 자발화 특성은 디젤 및 PCCI 엔진의 설계에서 중요한 인자이다. 특히, 디젤분무화염은 자발화현상에 의해서 형성되어 노즐에서 부상된다. 노즐과 부상화염 사이의 영역에서 분무된 디젤의 중앙으로 주위 공기의 유입이 발생하기 때문에, 그 부상된 화염은 매연 생성에 영향을 준다. 본 연구에서 간단한 모델로써 동축류 제트를 적용하였고, 점화지연시간에 대한 자발화 과정에서 발생하는 열손실의 영향을 확인하였다. 메탄($CH_4$), 에틸렌($C_2H_4$), 에탄($C_2H_6$), 프로핀($C_3H_6$), 프로판($C_3H_8$), 및 노말 부탄(n-$C_4H_{10}$)의 연료들을 고온의 공기로 분사하였으며 자발화된 부상화염의 높이를 측정하였다. 그 결과로 자발화된 부상화염의 높이와 열손실을 고려한 점화지연시간과의 상관관계를 결정하였다.

바이러스 감속기의 가변 비율 제한기를 위한 자율적 주기 결정 (Autonomic Period Determination for Variable Rate Limiter of Virus Throttling)

  • 바이러스 감속기(virus throttling)은 연결요청 패킷의 전송비율을 일정 비율 이하로 제한함으로써 웜을 탐지하는 대표적인 조기 웜 탐지 기술 중의 하나이다. 기존 바이러스 감속기 연구에서는 웜 탐지시간에는 크게 영향을 미치지 않으면서도 연결설정 지연시간을 단축시키기 위해 가중치 평균 지연 큐 길이를 적용하여 비율 제한기의 주기를 자율적으로 조절하였다. 기존 연구에서는 비율 제한기의 최소주기를 고정하고 또한 주기 값을 감소시키다가 다시 증가시키기 시작하는 반환점도 미리 고정하였다. 그러나 이러한 두 성능결정 요소는 웜 탐지시간과 연결 설정 지연에 서로 다른 영향을 미친다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 가변 비율 제한기의 최소주기와 반환점이 어떤 영향을 미치는지 실험을 통해 분석하고, 상황에 따라 이들 성능결정 요소들의 값을 결정할 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 제안된 방법은 성능결정 요소를 고정시킨 기존 방법보다는 웜 탐지시간이나 연결설정 지연시간 단축에 더 효율적이라는 사실을 실험을 통해 확인하였다.

배수지연을 고려한 논 지구의 범용 침수 모의 기법 개발 (General Inundation Modeling of Paddy Field Districts Considering Drainage Delay)

  • The objective of this study was to develop a general inundation modeling technique considering the effect of drainage delay in the paddy field districts. In most studies, farmland inundation simulations have been conducted using previously developed watershed models. However, the water cycle in the paddy fields has a different structure from that of the general watershed, and the effect of the drainage delay should be considered. In this study, the drainage delay algorithm was developed using water balance equation, and the inundation modeling was performed for inundation-prone paddy fields located near Doowol stream. As a result, the depth of inundation was 43.1 cm and 45.2 cm, respectively, due to the 100-year and 200-year frequency rainfall. With the operation of drainage pump ($0.1m^3/s$), inundation depths decreased by 5.8 cm and 6.0 cm, respectively, and inundation time reduced by 20 hours and 21 hours, respectively for the 100-year and 200-year frequency rainfall. The result showed that the general inundation modeling technique developed in this study could reflect the effect of drainage delay due to the rise of external water level and the flooding reduction effect by operation of drainage pump. The results of this study are expected to be useful to establish measures for damage caused by farmland inundation.

고속 도플러 편이 환경에서 최적 시간지연을 갖는 다중모드 모노펄스 신호처리에 관한 연구 (Study on Multi-Mode Monopulse Signal Processing System Providing Optimal Time Delay under High Doppler Condition)

  • Multi-mode monopulse system is widely used for satellite terminal like UAV because of high tracking accuracy and low size/weight profile. In order to calculate tracking error, Multi-mode monopulse system utilizes high-order mode signal, and it should have enough C/N(carrier to noise) level therefore tracking system needs narrow band filtering of received satellite beacon signal as much as possible. However, UAV suffers for beacon frequency drift derived from Doppler effect due to satellite figure 8 movement and UAV maneuvering. Therefore wideband signal processing needs to be considered in advance for exact doppler compensation and consequent time delay. In this paper, we propose the multi-stage Digital Signal processing system for beacon signal, which could minimize the signal delay under high Doppler and low C/N condition.

Channel Transfer Function Estimation based on Delay and Doppler Profile for Underwater Acoustic OFDM Communication System

  • In this paper, we proposed Channel Transfer Function estimation based on Delay and Doppler Profile for underwater acoustic OFDM communication system. It improved the estimation accuracy of the channel transfer function by linear time interpolation the change of Scattered Pilot (SP) insertion frequency in the time direction and the time by Delay and Doppler profile that analyzes the multipath situation of the channel investigated the performance of interpolation by simulation and report it. Previous works is inserted SP every 4 OFDM. It was effective under the environment without multipath, but it has observed that the effect of CTF compensation has been lowered in multipath channel condition. In addition to be better when inserted SP every 2 OFDM. But the amount of sending data will be decrease. Therefore, we conducted research to improve 4 OFDM with new interpolator. A computer simulation was performed as a comparison of SP inserted every 4 OFDM, SP inserted every 2 OFDM, and 4 OFDM with new interpolator. the performance of the proposed system is overwhelmingly improved, and the performance is slightly improved even 64 QAM.

지연다짐이 Soil-Cement의 압축강도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Delayed Compaction on Unconfined Compressive Strength of Soil-Cement Mixtures)

  • This study was attempted to investigate the effects of delayed compaction on the unconfined compressive strengh and dry density of Soil-cement mixtures. Soil-cement construction is a time-consuming procedure. Time-delay is known as a detrimental factor to lower the quality of soil-cement layer. A laboratory test was performed using coarse and fine weathered granite soils. The soils were mixed with 7% cement at optimum moisture content and excess moisture content in part. Socondary additives such as lime, gypsum-plaster, flyash and sugar were tried to counteract the detri-mental effect of delayed compaction. The specimens were compacted by Harvard Miniature Compaction Apparatus at 0,1,2,4,6 hors after mixing. Two kinds of compactive efforts(9 kgf and 18 kgf tamper) were applied. The results were summarized as follows: 1.With the increase of time delay, the decrease rate of dry density of the specimen compacted by 9 kgf tamper was steeper than that of the specimen compacted by 18kgf tamper. In the same manner, soil-B had steeper decreasing rate of dry density than soil-A. 2.Based on the results of delayed compaction tests, the dry density and unconfined compressive sterngth were rapidly decreased in the early 2 hours delay, while those were slowly decreased during the time delay of 2 to 6 hours. 3.The dry density and unconfined compressive strength were increased by addition of 3% excess water to the optimum moisture content during the time delay of 2 to 6 hours. 4.Without time delay in compaction, the dry densities of soil-A were increased by adding secondary additives such as lime, gypsum-plaster, flyash and sugar, on the other hand, those of soil-B were decreased except for the case of sugar. 5.The use of secondary additives like lime, gypsum-plaster, flyash and sugar could reduce the decrease of unconfined compressive strength due to delayed compaction. Among them, lime was the most effective. 6.From the above mentioned results, several recommendations could be suggested in order to compensate for losses of unconfined compressive strenght and densit v due to delayed compaction. They are a) to use coarse-grained granite soil rather than fined-grained one, b) to add about 3% excess compaction moisture content, c) to increase compactive effort to a certain degree, and d) to use secondary additives like line gypsum-plaster, flyash, and sugar in proper quantity depending on the soil types.

  • Air transport industry tries to enhance punctuality, stability and amenity for customer's satisfaction. Especially airlines and airports do make an effort as the distance between these two stakeholders and passengers are close. This research has empirically discussed the relationship between duty free shop purchase of passengers and the number of flights and hours of schedule delay at the airport. According to the result, the total sales of duty free shop sales have meaningful influence on the number of flights and hours of delay. In order to decrease such an impact, close cooperation between airports and duty free shops required.
