  • This study was carried out to test the recuperative effect of 2 types of sample drugs for 3 degree burn. The burn injury was made by iron plate heated in the boiling water. The Sprague Dawley rats were shaven with a razor preliminarily and burned by direct contact method for 10 seconds. The experimental groups were classified with 5 each-normal, control, MEBO ointment, sample A, sample B. The effect of the sample drugs were decided by histological results after 3 week application. The results were as following. The 3 treatment groups recovered the burn injury faster than control group. The recuperative effect precedes about 4-5 days at the time of 15th day and 1 week at the time of 3rd week. The therapeutical procedure of 3 treatment groups was similar with naked eye and with microscopic histology in the 1 st, 2nd and 3rd specimens. So there weren't significant differences in curative effect in 3 treatment groups of this experiment. But a regeneration of hair follicle was noted in Sample B uniquely. These results suggested that 3 burn remedies have similar effect of therpy, but sample B containing yolk sac oil has slightly better effect in part of hair regeneration.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to estimate genetic and environmental factors which can effect growth, and predict final height using this factors. Methods: Correlation analysis and regression analysis were conducted between measurements of height and Genetic & environmental factors through survey from 1352 child & adolescent patients. Results: Factors which have correlation with height percentile are MPH(Mid-Parental Height), NBW(Neonatal body weight), anorexia, dyspepsia, atopic dermatitis, frequency of breakfast and quality of sleeping time. MPH has moderate relation, NBW and anorexia have fair relation, and other factors have linear but poor relation. Regression equation from factors which have correlation and height percentile has 26.9% of predictive power. Regression equation considering only genetic factor has 20.4%. MPH has the most effect on height percentile. Anorexia has more effect than NBW. Other factors also have small and similar effect. Conclusions: Height of parents has the most effect on growth, anorexia, dyspepsia, atopic dermatitis, frequency of breakfast and quality of sleeping time also has effect.

  • As the visual effect frequently used in movies or animations, special effects are well suited for the creation of buildings or materials' destruction and collapse scenes. With the relevant programs developing technologically, the adoption of a real-time physically based-system makes it possible to realistically express dynamic simulations. In the large scale, the visual expression of such effects of destroying is satisfying enough, but most common programs of those effects fail to maximize visual effect generated with the cutting of small materials. Besides, to perform a heavy simulation process needs high-performance hardware and programs, where high costs would become a serious issue. For this reason, this paper suggests a solution optimized for the effect of small materials-cutting. The progress of each step shows technologies which trace movement with the state of the completion of the character's motions and then cut the material in real-time, finally led to the very realistic visual effect. Besides, using vector inner calculation to follow the motions of object and to realize cutting effect, this study provides an experiment that constructs visual effect for visualization from the basis of mathematical algorithm and it would be certainly as an educational material used for further researches.

  • The study examines the behavior of stock prices after large price changes. It further examines the effect of firm size on stock returns, and the presence of the disposition effect. The study employs the event study methodology using daily price data from Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) for the period January 2001 to July 2012. Furthermore, to examine the factors that explain stock price behavior after large price movements, the study employs a two-way fixed-effect model that allows for the analysis of unobservable company and time fixed effects that explain market reversals or continuation. The findings suggest that winners perform better than losers after experiencing large price shocks thus showing a momentum behavior. In addition, the winners remain the winner, while the losers continue to lose more. This suggests that most of the investors in PSX behave rationally. Further, the study finds no evidence of disposition effect in PSX. The investors underreact to new information and the prices continue to move in the direction of initial change. The pooled regression estimates show that firm size is positively related to post-event abnormal returns while the fixed-effect model reveals the presence of unobservable firm-specific and time-specific effects that account for price continuation.

  • In this numerical study, the 2D dynamic behavior of a clayey basin and its effect on damage pattern over basin edge are investigated. To attain this goal, a fully nonlinear time domain analysis method has been applied. Then, the fragility curves of the considered two typical industrial structures for that certain point are estimated using the acceleration time histories recorded at each surface point. The results show that the use of the damage related parameters in site effect analyses, instead of amplification curves, can yield more realistic estimation of the basin dynamic response. In a distance about 150 m from outcrop at the basin edge, the differences between fragility curves increase when increasing the distance from outcrop with respect to the reference rock site. Outside this region and towards the basin center, they tend to occur in rather single curves. Furthermore, to connect the structural damage to the basin edge effect, the earthquake demand value at different points for two typical structures was evaluated. It was seen that the probability of occurrence of damage increases over 250 m from outcrop, while the effect of the basin edge was limited to 150 m in case of the basin edge evaluation by using fragility curves.

  • Silica(SiO2) nanoparticles are used as additives in plastics and rubbers to improve mechanical, electrical, magnetic properties and optical material. Silica nanoparticles were synthesized by the gas phase thermal oxidation of several kinds of precursors in many types of reactor. Diffusion flame reactor has some advantages compared with other types of reactors. In this study, we investigated the generation of silica nanoparticles on the effect of residence time by tetraethylothosilicate(TEOS) in a turbulent diffusion flame reactor controlled by providing reactant flowrate and reactor geometry affect particle morphology, particle size and particle size distribution. To determine the flame residence time, flame length should be determined which was examined by ICCD image. Particle size, distribution and morphology were performed with TEM.

  • The present research deals with the time-harmonic deformation in transversely isotropic magneto thermoelastic solid with two temperature (2T), rotation due to inclined load and laser pulse. Generalized theory of thermoelasticity has been formulated for this mathematical model. The entire thermo-elastic medium is rotating with uniform angular velocity and subjected to thermally insulated and isothermal boundaries. The inclined load is supposed to be a linear combination of a normal load and a tangential load. The Fourier transform techniques have been used to find the solution to the problem. The displacement components, stress components, and conductive temperature distribution with the horizontal distance are computed in the transformed domain and further calculated in the physical domain using numerical inversion techniques. The effect of angle of inclination of normal and tangential load for Green Lindsay Model and time-harmonic source for Lord Shulman model is depicted graphically on the resulting quantities.

  • The control of the data retention time is a main issue for realizing future high density dynamic random access memory. There are several leakage current mechanisms in which the stored data disappears. The mechanisms of data disappear is as follow, 1 )Junction leakage current between the junction, 2) Junction leakage current from the capacitor node contact, 3)Sub-threshold leakage current if the transfer transistor is affected by gate etch damage etc. In this paper we showed the plasma edge damage effect to find out data retention time effectiveness. First we measured the transistor characteristics of forward and reverse bias. And junction leakage characteristics are measured with/without plasma damage by HP4145. Finally, we showed the comparison TRET with etch damage, damage_cure_RTP and hydrogen_treatment. As a result, hydrogen_treatment is superior than any other method in a curing plasma etch damage side.

  • This study has been investigated about the influence of moisture environment on the mechanical properties in the carbon fiber cross laminates. And it has been also investigated the effect of unit ply thickness of the carbon fiber cross laminates on the mechanical properties in distilled water of $80^{\circ}C$ for a certain period of time. As a results, it was found that the weight gain of water was increased with the immersion time and the bending strength and fracture toughness were decreased with the weight gain of water. And it was also shown that the bending strength and fracture toughness were decreased with the increasing of the unit ply thickness of carbon fiber cross laminates through the immersion time.
