오일점도에 따른 디젤엔진용 핀부시 베어링의 유막거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Oil Film Behaviors of Pin Bush Bearings for Diesel Engines with Various Engine Oil Viscosities)

  • A pin bush bearing is one of the most important element in the piston engine which is joined a piston to a connecting rod. A pin bush is suffered by heat and changeable repeat loads, which are come from the explosive gas heat and pressures during a reciprocating stroke. Therefore, a tribological behavior of pin bush bearings is very severe compared to other parts of a piston assembly. To keep a stable operation of pin bush bearings effectively, it would be satisfied with proper oil film strength for severe operating conditions and durability, which are strongly related to the oil film thickness, oil film pressure, and a friction loss power. The computed results show that the viscosity of engine oils slightly affects to the minimum oil film thickness and oil film pressure distribution, but is an influential parameter on a total friction loss power. Thus the low viscosity engine oils for an increased operation condition should select a high level of base oil and add a viscosity index improver as an oil film additive.

  • This paper reports on the balance weight effect on the lubrication and friction characteristics of crankshaft system. To determine the main bearing loads, the crankshaft was treated as statically determinate system. Four and eight-balance weight crankshafts were considered, and minimum oil film thickness and friction loss were calculated. The main bearing loads were increased in the four-balance shaft due to the increasing of unbalanced rotating mass at No. 1 and 3 main bearing sides. The minimum oil film thickness of four-balance shaft became thinner than eight-balance, and friction loss was increased.

  • A study on performance of the sound absorbing noise barrier is presented. Noise barrier of sound absorbing type is composed of the front panel, sound absorbing material, and back panel. For allowing sound path, front panel is usually perforated. The performance of the noise barrier is governed by the opening ratio of the perforated panel, sound absorption coefficient of the sound absorbing material. In this study, the effects of the opening ratio, diameter of the hole, thickness of the sound absorbing material are investigated. It is found that the thickness of the sound absorbing material must be at least 50 mm to ensure the required minimum NRC value 0.70, and the opening ratio is greater than 0.2. It is shown that the thickness of the back panel is crucial in providing required STL (Sound Transmission Loss) value. The performance of the developed noise barrier is measured, where its sound absorbing coefficient and sound transmission loss satisfy the criteria.

  • Apartment building floor with a damping layer can be modeled as a sandwich plate. In order to reduce low frequency noise more efficiently due to heavy impact on such a floor, thickness of the damping layer needs to be optimized at the design stage. Modal loss factors are determined in this paper by RKU equation which is popular In sandwich plate theories. Optimum damping layer thickness determined at each mode is weighted so that several modes in the frequency range of interest can be included in a more systematic way. Furthermore, to reflect frequency-dependent characteristics of complex stiffness of the damping layer, an iteration method is proposed in finding modal frequencies.

Effects of Coating Materials on Fluidity and Temperature Loss of Molten Metals from Runner Systems in Full Moulds.

  • The full mould casting process in one of the newly developed techniques which has many advantages. Unbonded sand mould has been prepared for the major mould and $CO^2$ gas mould has been used occasionally for comparison. Patterns were built up with expanded polystyrene and coated with three different materials. Silica, graphite and zircon were used for the coating layer. The effects on fluidity and temperature loss of molten metals were investigated. The molten metals were Al-5% Si alloy, Cu-30% Zn alloy and gray iron of approximately 4.0% of carbon equivalent. Experimental variables were runner section area, superheat, sprue height, coating materials, coating thickness and apparent density of EPS pattern. The effects of coating materials on fluidity and temperature loss of the molten metals during transient pouring are summarized as follows : As runner section area, superheat and sprue height increased, fluidity increased. Temperature loss decreased as runner section area and sprue height increased. However, reversed effects were observed in the case of superheat increment. The coating materials decreased the fluidity of each alloy in the order of silica, graphite and zircon. Zircon brought to the highest temperature loss among the coating materials used. The fluidity increased in the order gray iron, Cu-30% Zn and Al-5% Si alloy while temperature loss in the reverse order. Especially in case of reduced pressure process, the fluidity was increased apparently. Al-5% Si alloy showed the lowest temperature loss among the alloys. The increment of the apparent density of EPS pattern resulted in the fluidity decrease and temperature loss increase. The relation between fluidity and temperature loss of each alloy can be expressed by the following equation within the coating thickness limit of 0.5-1.5㎜. 흡음형 디퓨저 소음기의 성능 (Performance of Absorption Diffuser Silencers)

  • This paper is an investigation of the performance of absorption diffusers to suppress the vent noise emitted when high pressure gas is throttled. First, experiment for the static performance is carried out. When there is no through-flow, the insertion loss has been obtained in terms of 1/3 octave band spectrum and the effect of the number of diffusers and the thickness of the absorption material on the static performance has been obtained. And the similarity in the spectrum of the static insertion loss is confirmed by comparing two similar models with different size. Second, the dynamic performance has been obtained by experiment using blow-down of compressed air from a storage tank through an orifice of diameter 10 mm. The back pressure by the diffuser is measured and compared with that of a single diffuser. It is found that the insertion loss of asingle diffuser is very low around 3 dB at high frequencies with negative value at low frequencies. By absorption material between the diffuser tubes, however, the performance is increased considerably. Without flow the static insertion loss increases by 3 - 4 dB by doubling the thickness or the density of the absorptionmaterial. With flow, however, the dynamic insertion loss increases. While, the back pressure by the diffuser is small enough to be neglected.

  • 한국국적의 유조선 35척의 외판 및 격벽의 부식도를 선령별로 조사한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 선령 12년급의 외판의 평균부식도는 경흘수선 및 하부 만곡부선에서는 선수부가, 건현 및 상부만곡부선에서는 중앙부가, 양재흘수선에서는 선미부가 가장 높다. 2. 선령 20년급의 외판의 평균부식도는 경흘수선 및 상.하부만곡부선에서는 선수부가, 건현중앙선에서는 중앙부가, 만재 흘수선에서는 선미부가 가장 높다. 3. 측수조와 중앙유조의 횡격벽의 평균부식도는 어느 선령에서나 정부선, 상부선, 중앙선에서는 측수조가 높고, 하부선과 저부선에서는 중앙유조가 높다. 4. 중앙유조와 양측 유조의 횡격벽부식도 어느 선령에서나 중앙유조의 횡격벽 쪽이 높다. 5. 중앙유조의 종.횡격벽의 부식도는 격벽의 중앙선상부에서는 어느 선령에서나 종벽부 쪽이 높다. 6. 내부수조 및 중앙유조의 횡격벽과 같은 높이에 있는 선각외판의 건현부의 평균부식도를 비교하면, 격벽상부의 부식도가 외판의 그것보다 크다.

  • 한국국적을 가진 일반화물선 30척과 원목운반선 15척의 외판부식도를 선령별로 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 일반화물선 1) 전평균부식도는 어느 선령급에서나 경흘수선부가 가장 크다. 2) 선수미방향의 전평균부식도는 어느 선령급에서나 선수부가 중앙부나 선미부보다 크나, 큰 차이는 없다. 3) 깊이 방향의 부식도는 선령 16년 이하에서 건현부, 만재흘수선부, 하부만곡부, 경흘수선부의 순으로 크다. 또 35년에 있어 부식도는 경흘수선부와 만재흘수선부는 건현중앙부에 약 3배, 상부만곡부는 그것의 약 2배 되어 수선부가 가장 부식이 심함을 나타낸다. 2. 원목운반선 1) 전평균부식도는 어느 선령급에서나 상부만곡부가 가장 크다. 2) 선수미방향의 부식도는 어느 선령급에서나 선수부가 가장 크나, 큰 차이는 없다. 3) 깊이 방향의 부식도는 어느 선령급에서나 건현부가 가장 작고, 상부만곡부가 가장 커서 그 부식도는 건현부의 약 2배가 된다. 3. 일반화물선과 원목운반선. 원목운반선의 부식도의 전평균은 일반화물선의 그것의 약 3배나 된다.

  • 지층의 두께와 심도의 공간적 분포추정은 연약지반설계에 중요한 과정이다. 전통적인 크리깅 기법에서 채택되어 온 최소 분산기준은 항상 의사결정과정에 있어서 최적의 추정결과를 보장해 주지 않는다. 본 연구에서는 최적 압밀층 두께와 연직배수공법 적용 면적을 결정하기 위해 지시자 방법과 손실함수를 바탕으로 한 지구통계학적 방법을 사용하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 예제를 통하여 사용하는 손실함수의 형태에 따라서 최적 추정값이 상이할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 논문에서 이용한 손실함수를 고려할 수 있는 설계방법이 지반공학분야에도 잘 적용될 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • The flexural vibration of a sandwich beam with partially inserted viscoelastic layer has been studied using the finite element analysis in combination with an experiment. Effects of length and thickness of partial viscoelastic layers on system loss factor(${\eta}_s$) and resonant frequency(${\omega}_r$) were considerably large. The thicker the viscoelastic layer in a sandwich beam, the larger the system loss factor in Mode 1 as compared with that in Mode 2. The loss factor increased almost linearly with increasing the length of partial viscoelastic layer. Effects of thickness of beams were also considered.
