DME 생산공정에서 메탄올을 이용한 이산화탄소 제거 공정 연구 (A Study for Carbon dioxide Removal Process Using Methanol Solvent in DME Manufacture Process)

  • 본 연구에서는 Dimethyl ether (DME) 생산 공정 중에 포함되어 있는 이산화탄소 제거를 위한 용매로써 메탄올 수용액을 사용하는 공정에 대한 전산모사를 수행하였다. 공정모사를 위하여 Aspen tech 사의 Aspen Plus release 7.3을 사용하였으며, 열역학 모델식으로는 PC-SAFT 모델식을 사용하였다. PC-SAFT 모델식에서 필요한 이성분계 상호작용 매개변수를 결정하기 위하여 실험 데이터를 수집하고 회귀분석을 통해 새롭게 결정하였으며, 결정한 매개변수의 정확성은 실험 데이타와의 비교를 통해 검증하였다. 한편, 이러한 모델식과 검증한 매개변수를 사용하여 공정을 모델링 하였으며 최적 순환유량과 운전압력 그리고 원료 주입단 등을 결정하여 공정 최적화를 수행하였다.

  • A KALIMER-600 concept which is a type of sodium-cooled fast reactor, has been developed at KAERI. It uses sodium as a primary coolant and is a pool-type reactor to enhance safety. Also, a supercritical carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) Brayton cycle is considered as an alternative to an energy conversion system to eliminate the sodium water reaction and to improve efficiency. In this study, a simplified model for analyzing the thermodynamic performance of the KALIMER-600 coupled with a supercritical $CO_2$ Brayton cycle was developed. To develop the analysis model, a commercial modular modeling system (MMS) was adopted as a base engine, which was developed by nHance Technology in USA. It has a convenient graphical user interface and many component modules to model the plant. A new user library for thermodynamic properties of sodium and supercritical $CO_2$ was developed and attached to the MMS. In addition, some component modules in the MMS were modified to be appropriate for analysis of the KALIMER-600 coupled with the supercritical $CO_2$ cycle. Then, a simplified performance analysis code was developed by modeling the KALIMER-600 plant with the modified MMS. After evaluating the developed code with each component data and a steady state of the plant, a simple power reduction and recovery event was evaluated. The results showed an achievable capability for a performance analysis code. The developed code will be used to develop the operational strategy and some control logics for the operation of the KALIMER-600 with a supercritical $CO_2$ Brayton cycle after further studies of analyzing various operational events.

신경회로망을 사용한 냉매의 함수근사 (Function Approximation for Refrigerant Using the Neural Networks)

  • 유체의 상변화를 이용하는 냉난방장치 등의 열장치에 대한 열역학적인 성능평가는 열역학적 성질들에 대한 구체적인 수치값을 필요로 한다. 그러나 이러한 열역학적 성질들을 제공하는 증기표를 그대로는 사용할 수 없기 때문에 효과적인 모델링이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 신경회로망의 함수근사 특성을 이용하여 냉방장치의 매질로 사용되는 냉매(R12)의 포화증기 영역을 모델링하였다. 냉매 R12의 포화증기 영역의 함수근사 해석을 위하여 1개의 노드를 가진 입력층에 대하여 7개의 노드를 가진 출력층을 기본으로 하여, 각각 10개와 20개의 노드를 가진 두 개의 은닉층을 가진 회로망을 구성하였다. 또한 입력이 온도와 압력 두 가지의 경우에 대하여 검토하였다. 제안된 신경회로망을 사용한 결과 엔탈피, 엔트로피의 백분율오차가 대부분 ${\pm}$0.005%, 비체적은 ${\pm}$0.02%, 압력과 온도는 특별한 몇 개를 제외하고는 ${\pm}$0.02% 범위 내로 수렴되었다. 이 결과로부터 냉매를 함수근사하는데 있어서 신경회로망이 아주 강력한 수단이 될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • 탄화수소기반의 화석연료 에너지원은 이산화탄소 배출로 인한 지구온난화 문제로 지속적인 이용 및 확장에 제한이 있다. 수소는 전통적인 화석연료에 대한 유망한 대안으로 여겨지고 있다. 수소의 안정적인 장기저장을 위해서 극저온인 포화상태에서 수소의 열역학적 물성에 대한 예측이 요구된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 비교적 간단한 관계식을 보이는 3차 상태방정식들을 이용하여 포화상태의 열역학적 물성들(포화증기압, 액체 및 기체의 밀도, 엔탈피 및 엔트로피)을 모사하였다. 포화상태 수소에 대한 여러가지 열역학적 물성들을 비교한 결과 3 종류(Redlich-Kwong (RK), Soave-Redlich-Kwong (SRK), Peng-Robinson (PR))의 상태방정식 중 SRK 모델이 비교적 정확한 예측결과를 보였다.

자동차 에어컨 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 (Computer Simulation of Automobile Air-Conditioners)

  • The refrigeration cycle of automobile air-conditioners is simulated in an effort to provide a computational tool for optimum thermodynamic design. In the simulation, thermodynamic and heat transfer analysis was performed for the four major components : evaporator, condenser, compressor, and expansion valve. Effectiveness-NTU method was used for modeling both evaporator and condenser. The evaporator was divied into many subgrids and simultaneous cooling and dehumidifying analysis was performed for each grid to predict the performance accurately. Blance equations were used to model the compressor instead of using the compressor map. The performance of each component was checked against the measured data with CFC-12. Then, all the components were combined to yield the total system performance. Predicted cycle points were compared against the measured data with HFC-134a and the deviation was found to be less than 5% for all data. Finally, the system model was used to predict the performance of CFC-12 and HFC-134a for comparison. The results were very reasonable as compared to the trend deduced from the measured data.

전구 해빙모델(CICE)을 이용한 해빙 농도와 해빙 두께 민감도 비교 (Sensitivity Study of Simulated Sea-Ice Concentration and Thickness Using a Global Sea-Ice Model (CICE))

  • The impacts of dynamic and thermodynamic schemes used in the Community Ice CodE (CICE), the Los Alamos sea ice model, on sea ice concentration, extent and thickness over the Arctic and Antarctic regions are evaluated. Using the six dynamic and thermodynamic schemes such as sea ice strength scheme, conductivity scheme, albedo type, advection scheme, shortwave radiation method, and sea ice thickness distribution approximation, the sensitivity experiments are conducted. It is compared with a control experiment, which is based on the fixed atmospheric and oceanic forcing. For sea ice concentration and extent, it is found that there are remarkable differences between each sensitivity experiment and the control run over the Arctic and Antarctic especially in summer. In contrast, there are little seasonal variations between the experiments for sea ice thickness. In summer, the change of the albedo type has the biggest influence on the Arctic sea ice concentration, and the Antarctic sea ice concentration has a greater sensitivity to not only the albedo type but also advection scheme. The Arctic sea ice thickness is significantly affected by the albedo type and shortwave radiation method, while the Antarctic sea ice thickness is more sensitive to sea ice strength scheme and advection scheme.

  • It is not easy to refuel quickly and safely with 70 MPa hydrogen. This is because the temperature in the vehicle tank rises sharply due to Joule-Thomson effect, etc. Thus protocols such as SAE J2601 in the United States and JPEC-S 0003 in Japan were established. However, they have the problem of over-complexity and lack of versatility by setting the preconditions for hot and cold cases and introducing a number of look-up tables. This study was conducted with the ultimate goal of developing new protocols based on complete real-time communication. Thermodynamic models were made and programs were developed for hydrogen refueling simulations. Simulation results confirmed that there are five parameters in the influencing factors of the hydrogen refueling protocol.

  • 초임계 압력 조건에서 분사된 액체추진제의 혼합 및 연소 현상을 해석하기 위해서는 열역학적 비이상성과 전달 물성치의 특이성을 예측하는 것이 선행되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 일반화된 3차 상태방 정식(cubic EoS)을 기반으로 실제유체의 열역학/전달 물성치를 계산하는 서브루틴들을 개발하였으며, 표준 화학반응 패키지인 Chemkin과 쉽게 연동될 수 있도록 하였다. 실제유체 해석 패키지를 이용하여 기존의 층류화염편 코드를 확장하였으며, 실제 로켓엔진이 갖는 고압 연소조건하에서 케로신과 액체산소의 국소화염구조에 대한 수치해석 연구를 수행하였다.

망간단괴 용융환원 제련공정의 물질 및 열수지 모델링 (A Study on the Heat and Mass Balance of Smelting Reduction Process for Manganese Nodules)

  • Recently, manganese nodule has been focused on alternative resources because of its high grade of noble metallic elements such as Co, Ni, and Cu etc. From the viewpoint of an optimization the operating variables for energy efficiency of smelting reduction process, thermodynamic model for smelting reduction process of Manganese nodule was developed by using energy and material balance concept. This model provided that specific consumption of pure oxygen and coke was strongly depended on post combustion ratio (PCR) and heat transfer efficiency (HTE). The dressing and dehydrating process of low grade manganese can be proposed an essential process to minimize the specific energy consumption with decreasing slag volume. The effect of electricity coal base smelting reduction process was also discussed from the energy optimizing point of view.

초고온가스로 연계 블루수소 생산 공정의 열역학적 분석 (Preliminary Thermodynamic Evaluation of a Very High Temperature Reactor (VHTR) Integrated Blue Hydrogen Production Process)

  • As the impacts of global climate change become increasingly apparent, the reduction of carbon emissions has emerged as a critical subject of discussion. Nuclear power has garnered attention as a potential carbon-free energy source; however, the rapidity of load following in nuclear power generation poses challenges in comparison to fossil-fueled methods. Consequently, power-to-gas systems, which integrate nuclear power and hydrogen, have attracted growing interest. This study presents a preliminary design of a very high temperature reactor (VHTR) integrated blue hydrogen production process utilizing DWSIM, an open-source process simulator. The blue hydrogen production process is estimated to supply the necessary calorific value for carbon capture through tail gas combustion heat. Moreover, a thermodynamic assessment of the main recuperator is performed as a function of the helium flow rate from the VHTR system to the blue hydrogen production system.
