  • Reported here are results of the mechanical and electrical properties of both of intact and thermally degraded epoxy-coated copper busducts that are made by fluidized bed process. To elucidate and compare the properties mentioned above, electrical breakdown by thermal and water aging, v-t characteristic, bending test, impact test and cross cut test are carried out. Although the performance of electrical and mechanical properties are gradually decreased in increasing the severe conditions such as temperature, aging time, and so forth, sample C has a better performance in both mechanical and electrical properties.

  • In this study, optical and mechanical properties were investigated with 4 kinds of commercial dental enamels. As a result of EDS analysis $SiO_2,\;Na_{2}O,\;Al_{2}O_3\;and\;K_{2}O$ were the main components of commercial dental enamels. In case of H specimen, content of $SiO_2\;and\;K_2O$ were more than that of another specimens. Starting powder and fired specimens were glass ceramics which were consist of amorphous phase and leucite (crystalline) phase. Crystallization did not occurred during firing process, since the XRD peak intensity was similar between starting powder and fired specimens. As a result of differential thermal analysis, $T_g$ and crystalline temperature was varied with composition in the range of $548\sim576^{\circ}C$ and $735\sim780^{\circ}C$ respectively. 0.5mm thickness dental enamel specimens showed sufficient translucent properties. However, transmittance and reflectance were lower than 5% result from scattering due to the refractive index difference between glass and crystalline phase. 3 point bending strength was in the range of 73.9$\sim$101.8MPa which was similar or slightly higher than enamel of natural teeth and Vickers hardness was higher than enamel of natural teeth more than 100.

  • Since the critical whirling vibration frequency of high speed built-in type motor spindle systems is dependent on the rotor mass of the built-in motor and the spindle specific bending modulus, the rotor and the shaft were designed using magnetic powder containing epoxy and high modulus carbon fiber epoxy composite, respectively. In order to increase the amount of the magnetic flux of the composite squirrel cage rotor of an AC induction motor, a steel core was inserted into the composite rotor. From the magnetic analysis, the optimal configurations of steel core and conductor bars for the dynamic characteristics of the rotor system were determined and proposed. The temperature dependence of composite squirrel cage rotor materials was investigated by various experiments such as TMA, DMA and VSM.

  • The purpose of this paper is to assess the structural integrity of piping penetrations for nuclear power plants. A piping qualification analysis describes loads due to deadweight, pressure difference acts normal to the plate, thermal transients, and earthquakes, among other events, on piping penetrations that have been modeled as an anchor. Amodel was analyzed using a commercial finite element program. Apiping penetration analysis model was constructed with an assembly of pipe, head fittings and sleeves. Normally, the design load, thus obtained, will consist of three moments and three forces, referred to a Cartesian coordinate system. When comparing the stress analysis results from each required cutting position, the general membrane stress intensities and local membrane plus bending stress intensities during a structural evaluation cannot exceed the allowable amount of stress for the design loads. Therefore, the piping penetration design satisfies the code requirements.

  • The aluminum alloy which is light and has excellent thermal conductivity and iron base alloy that is remarkable heat-resistece and wear resistence properties were bonded together. The bond was created between a stationary and a rotating member by using the frictional heat generated between them while subjected to high normal forces on the interface of Al alloy and iron base alloy. The microstructure of the bonded interface of friction welding and the strength in the bonded interface formed under various bonding conditions were examined through TEM, SEM with EDX and triple bending test. In interface of bonding materials formed after various heat treatment, bonding strength was substantially different, resulting from formation of intermetallic compound or softening during annealing.

  • With the recent increase in the amount of interior materials, the medium-density fiberboard(MDF) has continued to be produced at an increasing rate. Accordingly, to prevent the deformation of MDF after its construction, secure the precision of its finishing and improve the performance of its design, this study attempted to investigate the effect of environment humidity conditions on flatness according to the field used in MDF and its relationship to other physical properties. An attempt was made to conduct this study by changing the conditions of surface treatment by moisture and by thickness. For this purpose, it is judged that it is desirable to prevent scheme to maintain the flatness by defining the coefficient of water absorption-induced length change as in the regulation on low-density soft fiberboard and adjusting the standard for wet bending strength upward. It is thought that is further studies will be conducted about the effect of material, adhesive and thermal pressure condition, production system and processing method used in MDF on its scheme to maintain the flatness and changes in length and thickness expansion.

  • In this paper, we describe the analysis of inkjet-printed silver (Ag) patterns on epoxy-coated substrates according to several reliability evaluation test method guidelines for conventional printed circuit boards (PCB). To prepare patterns for the reliability analysis, various regular test patterns were created by Ag inkjet printing on flame retardant 4 (FR4) and polyimide (PI) substrates coated with epoxy for each test method. We coated the substrates with an epoxy primer layer to control the surface energy during printing of the patterns. The contact angle of the ink to the coated epoxy primer was $69^{\circ}$, and its surface energy was 18.6 $mJ/m^2$. Also, the substrate temperature was set at $70^{\circ}C$. We were able to obtain continuous line patterns by inkjet printing with a droplet spacing of $60{\mu}m$. The reliability evaluation tests included the dielectric withstanding voltage, adhesive strength, thermal shock, pressure cooker, bending, uniformity of line-width and spacing, and high-frequency transmission loss tests.

  • Residual stresses induced in U-bending and tube-to-tubesheet joining processes of PWR's steam generator row-1 tube were measured by X-ray method and Hole-Drilling Method(HDM). The stresses resulting from the Internal pressure and the temperature gradient in the steam generator were also estimated theoretically. In U-bent lesions, the residual stresses at extrados were induced with compressive stress(-), and its maximum value reached -319 MPa in axial direction at ${\psi}=0^{\circ}$ in position. Maximum tensile residual stress of 170MPa was found to be at the flank side at Position of${\psi}=90^{\circ}$, i.e., at apex region. In tube-to-tubesheet fouling methods, the residual stresses induced by the explosive joint method were found to be lower than that by the mechanical roll method. The gradient of residual stress along the expanded tube was highest at the. transition region, and the residual stress in circumferential direction was found to be higher than the residual stress in axial direction. Hoop stress due to an internal pressure between primary and secondary side was analyzed to be 76 MPa and thermal stress was 45 MPa.

  • A bonded plate or a coated part can be debonded by external impact or thermal expansion. To analyse adhesive strength, the blister test is generally adopted. In this paper, a blister test is modelled theoretically and then the stability and bifurcation of the blister are studied under several different cases. The blister is simplified to consist of a pure bending plate attached elastically to the rigid substrate. Expression of the energy release rate is obtained as a form of an explicit function for a circular-type blister or tunnel-type blister grown by controlling the internal pressure or internal volume. Stability and bifurcation are also studied in the frame of the quasi-static evolution. The study shows that the circular- type blister propagates with the first mode of bifurcation and that the tunnel-type blister propagates with a regular wave. It is proved that the waves have the same form on two side lines of the tunnel and that the wave length can be obtained. When the internal pressure is controlled, the blister is unstable, but when the internal volume is controlled, it is stable.

  • Injection molding is one of the methods to prepare dielectromagnets-permanent magnets made from hard magnetic powder (or from mixture of powders) bonded by dielectric materials. Magnetic properties of dielectromagnets are worse than those of sintered magnets made from the same hard magnetic powders, but this type of the permanent magnet has many advantages. One of them is simpler technology-easier in comparison to the technology of sintered magnets. The injection molded dielectromagnets do not need any final treatment. This technology permits to control magnetic, thermal and mechanical properties of dielectromagnets. The main chracteristics of dielectormagnets are magnetic properties, however mechanical properties have serious influence onto a range of their applications. The main factors shaping mechanical properties have serious influence onto a range of their applications. The main factors shaping mechanical properties of dielectromagnets are the kind and quantity of resin and the technology. The purpose of this investigateion was to find the correlation between infection conditions and the mechanical properties of dielectromagnets. Influence of two parameters of injection, temperature and pressure on mechanical and magnetic properties of dielectromagnets were not significantly changed. Increasing of pressure of injection also does not influence on mechanical properties of analysed samples, however increasing of temperature of injection significantly improved both compression and bending strength.
