Some or the parameters affecting the thermal analysis of different types of ground tobacco have been discussed. The sample, Korean flue- cured and burley and Greek orient tobacco leaves were run in air at heating rate of $10^{\circ}$ and 20^{\circ}C$ per minute. The thermograms obtained were divided into four temperature zones. The effect of different heating rates on thermal degradation has been discussed At the lower heating rate the maxima of DTA curves in zone 3 and 4 were 25-$40^{\circ}C$ lower than that of the higher heating rate.
Thermal analysis of accident conditions is an important problem during safety assessment of the dry spent nuclear fuel storage facilities. Thermal aspects of accident conditions with channel blockage of ventilated storage containers are considered in this article. Analysis of flow structure inside ventilated containers is carried out by numerical simulation. The main mechanisms of heat and mass transfer, which take part in spent nuclear fuel cooling, were detected. Classification of accidents on the basis of their influence on the maximum temperatures inside storage casks is proposed.
As toughness-investigation to improve brittleness of existing epoxy resin, elastic-factor of elastic epoxy using TMA (Thermomechanical Analysis), DMTA (Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analysis) and FESEM (Field Emission Scanning Electron Microsope) for structure-images analysis were investigated. A range of measurement temperature of the TMA, DMTA was changed from -20[$^{\circ}C$] to 200[$^{\circ}C$]. When modifier was ratio of 0[phr], 20[phr], 35[phr], glass transition temperature (Tg) of elastic epoxy was measured through thermal analysis devices. Also, it was investigated thermal expansion coefficient ($\alpha$), modulus and loss factor through DMTA. In addition, it was analyzed structure through FSSEM and made sure elastic-factor of elastic epoxy visually. As thermal analysis results, 20[phr] was superior than 30[phr] thermally and mechanically. Specially, thermal expansion coefficient, modulus, damping properties were excellent. By structure-images analysis through FESEM, we found elastic-factor of elastic epoxy that is not existing epoxy, and proved high impact.

The thermal integrity of spent nuclear fuels has to be maintained during their long-term dry storage. The detailed temperature distributions of spent fuel assemblies are essential for evaluating the integrity of their dry storage systems. In this study, a subchannel analysis model was developed for a canister of a single fuel assembly using the COBRA-SFS code. The thermal parameters affecting the peak cladding temperature (PCT) of the spent fuel assembly were identified, and sensitivity analyses were performed based on these parameters. The subchannel analysis results indicated the presence of a recirculation flow, based on natural convection, between the fuel assembly and downcomer region. The sensitivity analysis of the thermal parameters indicated that the PCT was affected by the emissivity of the fuel cladding and basket, convective heat transfer coefficient, and thermal conductivity of the fluid. However, the effects of the wall friction factor of the canister, form loss coefficient of the grid spacers, and thermal conductivities of the solid materials, on the PCT were predominantly ignored.

A thermal imaging system is implemented for the measurement and the analysis of the thermal distribution of the target objects. The main part of the system is a thermal camera in which a focal plane array typed sensor is introduced. The sensor detects the mid-range infrared spectrum of target objects and then it outputs a generic video signal which should be processed to form a frame thermal image. Here, a digital signal processor(DSP) is applied for the high speed processing of the sensor signals. The DSP controls analog-to-digital converter, performs correction algorithms and outputs the frame thermal data to frame buffers. With the frame buffers can be generated a NTSC signal and transferred the frame data to personal computer(PC) for the analysis and a monitoring of the thermal scenes. By performing the signal processing functions in the DSP the overall system achieves a simple configuration. Several experimental results indicate the performance of the overall system.
It is known that slab thermal storage which uses concrete slab as thermal material is effective in the load leveling and using the nighttime electric power. The temperature distribution is not constant in plenum in thermal storage time by beams, ducts such as several factor. It is considered that this fact will effect on efficiency of thermal storage and indoor thermal environment. The purpose of this paper is to examine the thermal environment inside plenum. A macro model was made for the analysis of indoor thermal environment as the first step. The flow rate distribution and temperature distribution of object room model was examined by use of basic equations such as airflow by the pressure difference between unit cells, heat flow by air and heat transfer.
With the convergence of the information and communication technologies, a new age of technological civilization has arrived. This is the age of intelligent revolution, known as the 4th industrial revolution. The 4th industrial revolution is based on technological innovations, such as robots, big data analysis, artificial intelligence, and unmanned transportation facilities. This revolution would interconnect all the people, things, and economy, and hence will lead to the expansion of the industry. A high-density, high-capacity energy technology is required to maintain this interconnection. As a next-generation energy source, lithium-ion batteries are in the spotlight today. However, lithium-ion batteries can cause thermal runaway and fire because of electrical, thermal, and mechanical abuse. In this study, thermal runaway was induced in 72.5 Ah NCM pouch-type lithium-ion batteries because of thermal abuse. The surface of the pouch-type lithium-ion batteries was heated by the hot plate heating method, and the effect of the rate of increase in the surface temperature on the thermal runaway trigger time was analyzed using Minitab 19, a statistical analysis program. The correlation analysis results confirmed that there existed a strong negative relationship between each variable, while the regression analysis demonstrated that the thermal runaway trigger time of lithium-ion batteries can be predicted from the rate of increase in their surface temperature.
When a cold HPSI (High Pressure Safety Injection) fluid associated with a design basis accident, such as LOCA (Loss of Coolant Accident), enters the cold legs of a stagnated primary coolant loop, thermal stratification phenomena may arise due to incomplete mixing. If the stratified flow enters a reactor pressure vessel downcomer, severe thermal stresses are created in a radiation embrittled vessel wall by local overcooling. Previous thermal-mixing analyses have assumed that the thermal stratification phenomena generated in stagnated loop of a partially stagnated collant loop are neutralized in the vessel downcomer by strong flow from unstagnated loop. On the basis of these reasons, this paper presents the thermal-mixing analysis results in order to identify the fact that the cold plume generated in the vessel downcomer due to the thermal stratification phenomena of the stagnated loop is affected by the strong flow of the unstagnated loop.
In this paper, the safety diagnosis using thermal image analysis is described for power equipments. The conventional three-phase comparison method has only provided the results of thermal comparison for the equipments. The proposed method defines the conditions of poor connection by visual checks, and supports the criteria with each thermal rise step. As a result, the thermal difference from $5^{\circ}C$ to $10^{\circ}C$ meant the warning state. In addition, the thermal difference more than $10^{\circ}C$ meant that the connection status was unbalanced. In this case, the countermeasure might be the internal load distribution. If the thermal difference more than $20^{\circ}C$ is observed, it means a hot spot at the poor connection. If the hot spot is observed all over the surface, its cause was the unbalanced load, which made the conductive parts discolored and raised the possibility of oxidization or $Cu_2O$ generation. This diagnostic technology employing thermal image analysis method can be directly applied in the field and ensures the safety of equipments.

Heat is always the root of stress acting upon the electronic package, regardless of the heat due to the device itself during operation or working under the adverse environment. Due to the significant mismatch in coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) and the thermal conductivity (K) of the packaging components, on one hand intensive research has been conducted in order to enhance the device reliability by minimizing the mechanical stressing and deformation within the package. On the other hand the effectiveness of different thermal enhancements are pursued to dissipate the heat to avoid the overheating of the device. However, the interactions between the thermal-mechanical loading has not yet been address fully. in articular when the temperature gradient is considered within the package. To address the interactions between the thermal loading upon the mechanical stressing condition. coupled-field analysis is performed to account the interaction between the thermal and mechanical stress distribution. Furthermore, process induced defects are also incorporated into the analysis to determine the effects on thermal conducting path as well as the mechanical stress distribution. It is concluded that it feasible to consider the thermal gradient within the package accompanied with the mechanical analysis, and the subsequent effects of the inherent defects on the overall structural integrity of the package are discussed.
