In recent years, there has been a growth of the manufacture and application of magnesium products because of its small specific gravity as well as its relatively high strength. However, there are so many studies to assure good formability because magnesium sheet alloy is difficult to form. In this study, uniaxial tensile and biaxial tensile test of AZ31 magnesium sheet alloy with thickness of 1.2mm were performed at room temperature. Uniaxial tensile test were performed until $7\%$ of engineering strain. R-values and stress-strain curve were obtained. Biaxial tensile tests with cruciform specimen were performed until the breakdown of the specimen occurs. The yield loci are made by application of plastic work theory. The results are compared with the theoretical predictions based on the Hill and Logan-Hosford model. However, next study will be performed at warm-temperature because the specimens are broken under the $0.5\%$ of equivalent strain at biaxial tensile test.
$^{64}Cu$ is a favorable radionuclide in nuclear medicine applications because of its unique characteristics such as three types of decay (electron capture, ${\beta}^-$ and ${\beta}^+$) and 12.7 h half-life. Production of $^{64}Cu$ by irradiation $^{nat}Cu$ and $^{nat}CuNPs$ in Tehran Research Reactor was investigated. The characteristics of copper nanoparticles were investigated with SEM, TEM and XRD analysis. The cross section of $^{63}Cu(n,{\gamma})^{64}Cu$ reaction was done with TALYS-1.8 code. The activity value of $^{64}Cu$ was calculated with theoretical approach and MCNPX-2.6 code. The results were compared with related experimental results which showed good adaptations between them.
This paper contains results of the theoretical studies of the electrical breakdown properties in sulfur hexafluoride. Since the strong interaction of high-energy electrons with the polyatomic sulfur hexafluoride molecule causes their rapid deceleration to the lower energy of electron capture and dissociative attachment, the breakdown is only possible at relatively high field strengths. From the breakdown voltage curves, the effective yields that characterize secondary electron productions have been estimated. Values of the effective yields are found to be more consistent if they are derived from the experimentally determined values of the ionization coefficient and the breakdown voltages. In addition, simulations were performed using an one-dimensional Particle-in-cell/Monte Carlo collision code. The obtained simulation results agree well with the available experimental data with an error margin of less than 10% over a wide range of pressures and the gap sizes. The differences between measurements and calculations can be attributed to the differences between simulation and experimental conditions. Simulation results are also compared with the theoretical predictions obtained by using expression that describes linear dependence of the breakdown voltage in sulfur hexafluoride on the pressure and the gap size product.

Thermal humidity characteristics were considered theoretically and experimentally. A Simply well-fitted correlation of a saturated vapor pressure-temperature curve of water was introduced based on Antoine equation to make theoretical prediction of relative humidity according to temperature variation. Characteristics of dew point were also examined theoretically and its relation with temperature and humidity was evaluated. The exact mass of water vapor in a specified humidity and temperature condition was estimated to provide useful insight into the idea about how much amount of water corresponds to a specified humidity and temperature condition in a confined system. A simple but well-fitting model of dehumidification process was introduced to anticipate the trend of relative humidity level during GN2(gaseous nitrogen) purge process in a humidity chamber. Well-suitedness of this model was also verified by comparison with experimental data. The overall appearance and specification of two thermal humidity chambers were introduced which were used to perform various thermal humidity tests in order to yield useful data necessary to support validity of theoretical models.
A semi-empirical model for microwave polarimetric radar backscattering from bare soil surfaces was developed using polarmetric radar measurements and the knowledge based on the theoretical and numerical solutions. The microwave polarimetric backscatter measurements were conducted for bare soil surfaces under a variety of roughness and moisture conditions at L-, C-, and X-band frequencies at incidence angles ranging from 10` to 70`. Since the accrate target parameters as well as the radar parameters are necessary for radar scattering modeling, a complete and accurate set of ground truth data were also collected using a laser profile meter and dielectric probes for each surface condition, from which accurate measurements were made of the rms height, correlation length, and dielectric constant. At first, the angular and spectral dependencies of the measured radar backscatter for a wide range of roughnesses and moisture conditions are examined. Then, the measured scattering behavior was tested using theoretical and numerical solutions. Based on the experimental observations and the theoretical and numerical solutions, a semi-empirical model was developed for backscattering coeffients in terms of the surface roughness parameters and the relative dielectric constant of the soil surface. The model was found to yield very good agreement with the backscattering measurements of this study as well as with independent measurements.
The influence of process conditions on highly branched glucooligosaccharides production by mixed culture of Leuconostoc mesenteroides ATCC 13146 and Lipomyces starkeyi ATCC 74054 was studied. We divided the batch culture fermentations into two groups according to inoculation method. One-point inoculation was performed by coinoculation of L. mesenteroides and L. starkeyi at the ration of 10 to 1, and two-point inoculation by L. mesenteroides inoculation first and L. starkeyi inoculation after L. mesenteroides grew to the end of the log phase of growth. Two-point inoculation improved the yield of oligosaccharide by 1.5 to 20 fold more than one-point inoculation. In this process, the highest yield of oligosaccharides (48% of theoretical yield) and productivity (0.85 g/l/h) were obtained with starch as an initial substrate for L. starkeyi growth. The estimated composition of the end product consisted of 31.5% oligosaccharides, 17.6% dextran, and 46.5% mannitol.
Xylose represents a major component of cellulosic materials. This paper describes patterns of ethanol fermentation by Saccharomyces cerevisiae from xylulose, which is an isomer of xylose. Special emphasis was placed on the effects of xylulose concentration and growth temperature on cell growth and ethanol yield. The maximum specific growth of $0.087 1/hr^{-1}$ was obtained at an initial xylulose concentration of 5 g/1. The ethanol yield was propotional to initial xylulose concentrations. A xylulose concentration of 16 g/l resulted in the maximum ethanol yield of 0.49 g EtOH/g xylulose, which corresponds to 90% of a theoretical value. It is interesting to nota that xylulose metabolism was accelerated by the presence of glucose as a carbon source.

We investigated the optimization of the organosolv pretreatment of yellow poplar for bioethanol production. Response surface methodology was used to determine the optimal conditions of three independent variables (reaction temperature, reaction time, and sulfuric acid (SA) concentration). Reaction temperature is the most significant variable in the degradation of xylan and lignin in the presence of an acid catalyst, and ethanol production increased with a decrease in the lignin content. The highest ethanol concentration ($42.80g/{\ell}$) and theoretical ethanol yield (98.76%) were obtained at $152^{\circ}C$ (2.5 bar) with 1.6% SA for 16 min. However, because of excessive degradation of the raw material, the overall ethanol yield was less than under other pretreatment conditions which has approximately 50% of WIS recovery rate after pretreatment. The optimal conditions for the maximum overall ethanol yield ($146^{\circ}C$ with 1.22% SA for 15.9 min) were determined with a predicted yield of 17.11%, and the experimental values were very close (17.15%). Therefore, the quadratic model is reliable.
Relationship among grain yield (Y) nitrogen efficiency (E) and nitrogen uptake amount (N) was investigated using the data from Korea and Japan in order to find out the way of increase nitrogen efficiency. The relationship between E and N could be grouped in various classes. In each class the equation. Y=EN=(b-aN)N, is valid where b is a theoretical maximum of E and a is the E/N at theoretial maximum yield. Present technique for high yield in the rice research seems to achieve 56.8 of nitrogen efficiency with 15.5kg of nitrogen uptake. Future target appears to be 63 of efficiency with 17kg of nitrogen uptake at which some farmers in Japan might reach already. It seems that the increase of nitrogen uptake for high yield is restricted without increase of nitrogen efficiency. The increase of efficiency and uptake amount of soil nitrogen seems essential to increase total nitrogen efficiency.
To estimate the structural seismic demand, some methods are based on an equivalent linear system such as the Capacity Spectrum Method, the N2 method and the Equivalent Linearization method. Another category, widely investigated, is based on displacement correction such as the Displacement Coefficient Method and the Coefficient Method. Its basic concept consists in converting the elastic linear displacement of an equivalent Single Degree of Freedom system (SDOF) into a corresponding inelastic displacement. It relies on adequate modifying or reduction coefficient such as the inelastic deformation ratio which is usually developed for systems with known ductility factors ($C_{\mu}$) and ($C_R$) for known yield-strength reduction factor. The present paper proposes a rational approach which estimates this inelastic deformation ratio for SDOF bilinear systems by rigorous nonlinear analysis. It proposes a new inelastic deformation ratio which unifies and combines both $C_{\mu}$ and $C_R$ effects. It is defined by the ratio between the inelastic and elastic maximum lateral displacement demands. Three options are investigated in order to express the inelastic response spectra in terms of: ductility demand, yield strength reduction factor, and inelastic deformation ratio which depends on the period, the post-to-preyield stiffness ratio, the yield strength and the peak ground acceleration. This new inelastic deformation ratio ($C_{\eta}$) is describes the response spectra and is related to the capacity curve (pushover curve): normalized yield strength coefficient (${\eta}$), post-to-preyield stiffness ratio (${\alpha}$), natural period (T), peak ductility factor (${\mu}$), and the yield strength reduction factor ($R_y$). For illustrative purposes, instantaneous ductility demand and yield strength reduction factor for a SDOF system subject to various recorded motions (El-Centro 1940 (N/S), Boumerdes: Algeria 2003). The method accuracy is investigated and compared to classical formulations, for various hysteretic models and values of the normalized yield strength coefficient (${\eta}$), post-to-preyield stiffness ratio (${\alpha}$), and natural period (T). Though the ductility demand and yield strength reduction factor differ greatly for some given T and ${\eta}$ ranges, they remain take close when ${\eta}>1$, whereas they are equal to 1 for periods $T{\geq}1s$.
