The study was conducted to investigate the effects of different harvesting time on pasting properties of starch in three colored rices. Seven major parameters of starch pasting properties, peak viscosity (PKV), hot pasting viscosity (HPV), cool pasting viscosity (CPV), setback (CPV minus PKV), breakdown (PKV minus HPV), peak time, and pasting time were determined by Rapid Visco Analyzer. The peak viscosity, hot viscosity, cool viscosity and peak time were influenced by different harvesting times. Pasting time was delayed slightly with prolonged harvesting time in all rice cultivars. Pasting temperature in each rice cultivar differed from each harvesting time, and pasting temperature of the two rice cultivars, Hongjinju and Joseongheugchal, showed the highest at the 40 days after heading and then it decreased at the final harvesting time. With the delay of the harvesting time, peak viscosity, hot viscosity, cool viscosity, setback value and pasting temperature did not exhibit a regular trend depending on their genetic characteristics. Branch chain length distribution of amylopectin was demonstrated a distinct difference among these colored rices. In changes of amylopectin branch chain-length distribution, the amylopectin structure of Hongjinju rice cultivar as affected by different harvesting time, the shortest chain length of amylopectin in rice starch harvested at 20 days after heading was characterized by the significant increase in A chains with $DP{\geq}12$ and remarked decrease in long chains $37{\leq}DP$ compared to that of 30, 40, and 50 days after heading. In particular, when harvesting time is delayed the distribution percentage of short chain (A chains with $DP{\geq}12$) was increased except for the rice which harvested 20 days after heading. The similar results were also observed in Sintoheugmi rice cultivar like that of Hongjinju rice cultivar. Otherwise, distribution percentage of the shortest chain length of amylopectin in rice starch harvested at 20 days after heading was characterized by the significant decrease in A chains with $DP{\geq}12$ and remarked increase in B chains $13{\leq}DP{\geq}24$ compared to that of 30, 40, and 50 days after heading.

The experiment was performed to investigate the effect of heating temperature and shaking time on viscosity change of whole egg, yolk, and albumen. Shaking water bath was used at 35, 45, and 50$^{\circ}C$ and the viscosity was measured at 0, 3, 6, 9, and 12 hours. There were no significant differences in viscosity of whole egg between 35$^{\circ}C$ and 45$^{\circ}C$( over-all mean). However, the 50$^{\circ}C$ group showed significantly lower viscosity compared to 35 or 45$^{\circ}C$ groups(P < 0.05). Non-significant differences were noticed in yolk viscosity among temperature treatments, but there were significant differences among shaking times(P < 0.05). Heating temperature and shaking time did not show significant effect on the viscosity of albumen, but the lowest viscosity was shown at 0, 9, and 12 hours at 50$^{\circ}C$. The results suggest that whole egg, yolk, and albumen should be treated for more than 3 hours at 50$^{\circ}C$, more than 3 hours at 35$^{\circ}C$ and 45$^{\circ}C$ and 3~9 hours at 50$^{\circ}C$, and 0, 9, 12 hours at 50$^{\circ}C$, respectively and then can be used in the processing.
The present experiments were designed to investigate the effects of BangPoongSan on the cardiovascular system in the experimental Animals. And thus the change of blood pressure, auricular blood flow, artery contraction, death rate, platelet aggregation repression, plasma coagulation factor activity, plasma antithrombin activity, whole blood viscosity and plasma viscosity were studied. The result were summarized as the followings: 1. BangPoongSan dropped the blood pressure in the spontaneous hypertensive rat. 2. The drug increased the auricular blood flow in rabbit. 3. The drug relaxed the artery contraction by pretreated norepinephrine in white rat. 4. The drug inhibited the death rate of mouse which was led to thromboembolism by serotonin and collagen. 5. The drug inhibited the platelet aggregation in rat. 6. The drug prolonged the prothrombin time and activated partial thromboplastin time on the test of plasma coagulation factor activity in rat, but was not valuable. 7. The drug presented the antithrombin activity in rat. 8. The drug reduced the whole blood viscosity and plasma viscosity in rat, but the latter was not valuable. According to the results, Bangpoongsan increased the blood flow and dropped the blood pressure by dilatation of blood vessel smooth muscle. And the drug presented the antithrombin acivity, inhibited the platelet aggregation and reduced blood viscosity. Therefore these effects are assumed to improve the cardiovascular circulation disorder and prevent thrombosis.

Internal flow characteristics within Y-jet atomizers and the local drop size distribution and cross-sectional averaged drop size at the outside were investigated with the liquid and air injection pressures, mixing port length of atomizers, and the liquid properties taken as parameters. To examine the effect of the liquid viscosity, glycerin-water mixtures were used in this study. The liquid viscosity plays only a minor role in determining the internal flow pattern and the spatial distribution shape of drops, but the drop sizes themselves generally increase with increasing of the liquid viscosity. An empirical correlation for the liquid discharge coefficient at the liquid port was deduced from the experimental results; the liquid discharge coefficient strongly depends on the liquid flow area at the mixing point which is proportional to the local volumetric quality(.betha.$_{Y}$), and the volumetric quality was included in the correlation. Regardless of the value of the liquid viscosity, the compressible flow through the gas port was well represented by the polytropic expansion process(k=1.2), and the mixing point pressure could be simply correlated to the aspect ratio( $l_{m}$/ $d_{m}$) of the mixing port and the air/liquid mass flow rate ratio( $W_{g}$/ $W_{f}$) as reported in the previous study.udy.udy.y.

The mesoporous TiO2 film for the dye-sensitized solar cell was prepared by the spin coating using nano particle $TiO_2$ slurry. In order to obtain the good dispersion of nano size $TiO_2$ particles in slurry, the pH of solvent, the sort and quantity of solvent additive and the quantity of surfactant were adjusted. The experimental range of pH was $2\;{\sim}\;4$. The basic solvent for slurry was dilute $HNO_3$ and the solvent additives were ethylene glycol, propylene glycol and butylene glycol. The degree of particle dispersion was indirectly estimated by the viscosity of slurry and the microstructure after sintering. As results, the lower the pH of solvent was the lower the viscosity of the slurry became. The addition of ethylene glycol and propylene glycol to dilute $HNO_3$ brought about the lowering of viscosity and the enhancement of stability in slurry. The addition of surfactant lowered the viscosity of slurry. It was possible to obtain the homogeneous and uniformly dispersed mesoporous TiO2 film using the dilute HNO3 solvent of pH 2 with the addition of ethylene glycol, propylene glycol and neutral surfactant.

This investigation deals with the spin-up flows in a circular container of aspect ratio, 2.0. Shear front is generated in the transient spin-up process and propagating from the side wall to the central axis in a rotating container. Propagation of the shear front to the axis in a rotating container means the region acquires an angular momentum transfer from the solid walls. Propagating speed of the shear front depends on the apparent viscosity of polymer solution. Two kinds of polymer solutions are considered as a working fluid: one is CMC and the other is CTAB solution. CMC solution has larger apparent viscosity than that of water, and CTAB shows varying apparent viscosities depending on the applied shear rates. Transient and spatial variations of the apparent viscosities of the present polymer solutions (CTAB and CMC) cause different speeds of the propagating shear front. In practice, CMC solution that has larger values of apparent viscosity than that of water always shows rapid approach to the steady state in comparison of the behavior of the flows with water. However, for the CTAB solution, the speed of the propagating of the shear front changes with the local magnitude of its apparent viscosity. Consequently, the prediction of Wedemeyer's model quantitatively agrees with the present experimental results.

An experimental study was peformed to measure the viscosity of microencapsulated PCM slurries as the functions of its concentration and temperature, and also influence to its fluid dynamics. For the viscosity measurement, a rotary type viscometer, which was equipped with temperature control system, was adopted. The slurry was mixed with water and Sodium Lauryl Sulphate as a surfactant by which its suspended particles were dispersed well without the segregation of particles during the experiment. The viscosity was increased as the concentration of MicroPCM particle added. The surfactant increased 5% of the viscosity over the working fluid without particles. Experiments were proceeded by changing parameters such as PCM particles'concentration as well as the temperature of working fluid. As a result, a model to the functions of temperature for the working fluid and its particle concentration is proposed. The proposed model, for which its standard deviation shows 0.8068, is agreed well with the reference's data. The pressure drop was measured by U-tube manometer, and then the friction factor was obtained. It was noted that the pressure drop was not influenced by the state of PCM phase, that is solid or liquid in its core materials at their same concentration. On the other hand, it was described that the pressure drop of the slurry was much increased over the working fluid without particles. A friction factor was placed on a straight line in all working fluids of the laminar flow regardless of existing particles as we expected.

Water-in-Oil (W/O) emulsions are widely used in cosmetics. However, O/W (Oil-in-Water) emulsions are generally superior to W/O emulsions in terms of stability. In this study, we investigated the changes of viscosity, the size of emulsion droplets, and rheological properties of emulsions prepared using distearyldimonium chloride (DDC), magnesium aluminum silicate (MAS) and quaternium-18 hectorite (QH). In addition to the changes of the composition, we tested the condition of homogenization including rotation per minute of the mixer and the mixing time. The viscosity of emulsions with DDC and AMS were not changed with time and the stability of emulsions was stable during the storage time. However, the fluidity of emulsions were low due to the forming gel network in the emulsions. The gelling power of the emulsions with QH was rather weaker than that of the emulsions with DDC and MAS. The viscosity of emulsions with QH was gradually reduced and the phase separation of emulsions with high concentration of oil was observed throughout the storage time, however, the stability of emulsions with DDC, MAS and QH was excellent, the fluidity of emulsions was enhanced, and the viscosity of emulsions was sustained for a long time after setting of emulsions.
This research was conducted to analyze the change of surface tension, viscosity, streaming current and conductivity of transformer oil when it were injected with the interface active substances.(anionic:S-111, cationic:S-121, amphoteric:S-131) The changes properties of the surface tension and viscosity of the oil which were injected with the interface active substances were divided into the changes area and the minimum reduction area. The surface tension and viscosity of the oil which were injected with three different kinds of interface active substances showed remarkable change at the point where the concentration of the substance in anionic, in cationic and in amphoteric were 100[ppm], 10[ppm] and 1[ppm] respectively. The streaming current and conductivity of the same sample oil were also changed at the same densities of the surface tension and viscosity. For this factor, it was possibile for us to interpret the mechanism of the streaming current and conductivity. Therefore the interface active substances of the three kinds were injected into the oil within the limit of optimal volume, prevention effects of electrification were showed more excellence than unmixed insulating oil.
In this study the effects of fluid viscosity on the pump performances for a conventional centrifugal pump were experimentally investigated. The study aimed to compare the pump characteristics between water and viscosity fluids. In order to measure the flow rate and pressure, v-notch welt and bourdon pressure gauges were used for the codes of KS B6301 and KS B6302. The working fluids were water, aqueous sugar and glycerin solutions. The results were summarized as follows : The experimental results were summarized as follows : the pump characteristics of the total head, shaft power, and efficiency with high viscosity fluids were different from those of water. When the viscosity of the applied fluid was increased, the total head and efficiency were more decreased than those of water. The decreasing gradients of the total head and the efficiency were larger than water due to the increased disk friction losses at the duty operation point. However, the shut-off head was almost constant regardless the viscosity of applied fluids. Each efficiency curves for the sugar $20w\%$ and glycerin $20w\%$ solutions was decreased up to $15.1\%$ and $34.4\%$ than that of water, respectively.
