  • This study was carried out to investigate foodservice management of child care centers in Ansan and to suggest the basic data for foodservice management improvement. A questionnaire survey of 48 child care centers in Ansan was undertaken. Child care centers were categorized large (children eve. 100) and small(children less than 100) by size and public and private by type. Survey questionnaires consisted of general background, employee, food inspection and storage, kitchen, cooking facilities, food distribution and hygiene utensils. The results of this study are summarized as follows: because 46.9% to 56.3% of the centers took a dietitian in employment, foodservices in most of centers were not managed by professionals. The average of employee were 0.77 persons in smalll centers and 1.65 persons in large centers. The average space of kitchen were 3.86 pyung in smalll center, 6.06 pyung (1 pyung=$3.3058m^2$) in large centers. According to the data analyzed from Food inspection and storage, kitchen, cooking facilities, food distribution and hygiene utensils, the results indicate that the foodservice management of child care centers were in a relatively poor state. The director in child care centers should recognize the importance of the sanitation management and pay more attention to food service facilities. To improve foodservice performance at child care centers, it is required fur the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family to develop both the kitchen facility model based on the general sanitation standards and guidelines for child care centers.

A study in finding the status and the amount of co gas in the kitchen was con-ductedrelating the size of kitchen, door of exit, ventilation window, constraction of built in-brick stove (Boo Tu Mack), fuel management, in order to extend beneficial and improved management of housing. From the result of study, it was pointed out that constractional improvement of built-in-brick stove, heating floor (Ondol), timny, and ventilation window would been emergently needed. Demonstration studies were obtained in finding differences of the amount of co gas respectively in cooking time as 50-55ppm, and in not cooking time as 50-80p,p,m in the kitchen both, original and improved. Definite differences were found depend upon the condition with, without, or direction of the ventilation window. In addition to all above results, significant influence on gas pulling power of Ondol tunnel was shown. Many houses of Apartment house for have middle and low income groups been recognized so poor for health as indicated over 100ppm of co gas if window were not opened because of poor ventilation and weak gas pulling power of Ondol tunnel.

  • Various effluents generated in cooking processes contribute a great deal to indoor air pollution among many other indoor pollutants such as dusts from outdoor and carbon dioxide from human body. Kitchen exhaust hoods are not believed to exhaust indoor contaminants properly in many cases, while generating too much noise. Instead of focusing on individual products of kitchen hoods, we should address the problem by attacking the ventilation system as a whole including vertical shafts and building air-tightness. In this study, it is intended to investigate the pressure distribution along the vertical shaft depending on various system parameters, such as shaft size, concurrent hood usage rate, roof fan, inlet pressure loss, and outdoor temperature. The maximum static pressure in the vertical shaft has been obtained using the method of design of experiments and analyzed by the analysis of variance. The results can be used for the design of kitchen exhaust systems by analyzing the pressure distributions in vertical shafts.

However, after modernization, apartments have become major housing style in both Korea and China. So this research analyzed 240 apartment plans which was build in Seoul and Beijing in 2000s and 2010s to predict the future trends for apartments. The results are as follows: The opening direction of the front door will be outwards as the hallway space of small apartments in China become wider as the living standards is increasing. Because of the floor sitting lifestyle, Koreans end outdoor activities when take off their shoes at the entrance hall and continue for indoor activities, they separate entrance hall from livingroom. However, because Chinese have chair sitting lifestyle, entrance hall and livingroom is not divided. Korean apartment shows a trend which connects livingroom, diningroom and kitchen altogether; however, Chinese apartment shows a trend which separates kitchen from livingroom and diningroom. Bedrooms are showing a trend of distributed layout. Master bedroom are showing a trend which includes separate bathroom or attached room as the size of apartment increases and so on.

  • This study aims to investigate the changes in area ratios by space through floor plans of national leasing houses constructed by the LH in Jangseong-gun, particularly focusing on the floor plans of public leasing housing complexes built during the 1970s-80s and those during the 2010s. The results are as follows: First, according to the composition ratio of floor plans by period, the type of Bedroom> Livingroom> Common Area> Kitchen+Dining> Multi-purpose room> Bathroom> or the type of Bedroom> Livingroom> Kitchen/Dining> Common Area> Bathroom> Multi-purpose room were found to be high during the 1970s. Whereas, the type of Common Area>Living room(Kitchen/Dining included)>Bedroom>Bathroom>Front Entrance was found to be high during the 2010. It can be concluded that the ratio of Bedroom and Living room was found to be high during the 1970s, but after 2010s, the spacial composition ratio of Common Space, Living room, and Bedroom is getting higher in the order. Second, in terms of the composition ratio of floor plans by the area of unit household, among the floor plan of C-1, B-2, B-3, C-2 which were used since 2010s, the spatial ratio of Bedroom was maintained in the range of 20%; while during the 1970s, the Bedroom space of A-1(46%), A-2(46%), and A-3(41%) was found to be higher than 40%. It can be concluded that the size of bedroom space has doubled over time. In terms of the changes in the spatial ratio of Living room, A-1(15%), A-2(22%), and A-3(23%) were found during the 1970s. Compared to the recent floor plans of C-1(28%), B-2(25%), B-3(33%), and C-2(34%) which are applied in Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do province, no big changes have been found, particularly in the small floor plans (20% range).
