The turbine is an important component and has a significant impact on the thermodynamic efficiency of the organic Rankine cycle. A precise preliminary design is essential to developing efficient turbines. In addition, performance analysis and structural analysis are needed to evaluate the performance and structural safety. However, there are only a few exclusive studies on the development process of the radial inflow turbines for the organic Rankine cycle (ORC). In this study, a preliminary design of the ORC radial inflow turbine was performed. Subsequently, the performance and structural analysis were also carried out. The RTDM, which was developed as an in-house code, was used in the preliminary design process. The results of the performance analysis were found to be in good agreement with target performances. Structural analysis of the designed turbine was also carried out in order to determine whether the material selection for this study is suitable for the flow conditions of the designed turbine, and it was found that the selected aluminum alloy is suitable for the designed turbine. However, the reliability of the preliminary design algorithms and numerical methods should be strictly verified by an actual experimental test.
Although many studies have been conducted on the impact of increasing social awareness of corporate social responsibility activities on financial and non-financial performances, the number of studies conducted by financial companies is relatively small compared to those conducted by non-financial companies such as manufacturing and service industries. Accordingly, this study explores the impact of corporate social responsibility activities on the Earnings Persistence of financial companies through a regression analysis that utilizes the conversion score of an ESG rating of a Korean listed company provided by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS) as a variable for the company's social responsibility activities. Through this analysis, the study found that, among the ESG scores that are variables of social responsibility activities, the ESG governance score was significant in the direction of (+) for the Earnings Persistence. In addition, the same study conducted by classifying the entire sample into six sub-industries shows that the ESG governance score in the banking industry was more significant compared to when the regression analysis was conducted on the entirety of the samples. Therefore, this study concludes that the soundness and reliability of corporate governance have a positive effect on Corporate Earnings Persistence.
Purpose: Recent emergence of diverse businesses in the distribution industry has led small and medium-sized retailers and their distribution logistics centers to face difficulties. Transactions between companies are connected within a supply chain, and the companies have relationships in the form of a supplier and a buyer. Therefore, it is important to identify causes of problems among companies through supply chain and strategic partnerships, thus developing optimal management plans and maximizing performances of companies. This study proposes that sustainable supply chain management consists of product quality, price quality, distribution quality, and promotion quality based on stakeholder theory and resource-based view. This study examined the impacts of sustainable chain management factors on satisfaction and win-win cooperation. Water leak detection system is a system based on wireless sensor networks(WSNs) which detect a leak on water supply, localize the leak position and finally inform a water management center. A traditional leak detection method is to use experienced personnel who walk along a pipeline listening to the sound that is generated by the leaks and their effectiveness depend on the experience of the user. Also making more successful detection, it should be processed at middle of the night when people do not use water, as the result users have to operate the leak detection system at midnight. In this paper, we propose a new method for the water leak detection system based on the WSNs and describe it in detail. Leak detection devices which detect a leakage of water transmit and receive the result of water leak detection with each other by configuring WSNs to improve reliability of the detection result. Also, we analyzed the sound from water flowed in pipeline, proposed the pre-signal processing to separate a leakage sound from noisy sound. And lastly, It is especially important to make a time synchronization with water leak detection devices that are installed on the pipeline, we used 1PPS(1 Pulse Per Second) signal generated by GPS, therefore we could get a precise time synchronization. The proposed system set up in Namyangju and performances were evaluated.
This study was to investigate the effects of interpersonal relationships on job satisfaction of home-visiting care helpers and the category of interpersonal relationships was subdivided into elderly clients, guardians, colleagues and directors considering the person-to-person nature of home-visiting care helper's job characteristics. A group of 336 care helpers who engaged in home-visiting care service providing facilities in Daejeon City was selected as a research subject, and the data were analyzed with SPSS 22.0 program using reliability, frequency, correlation and hierarchical multiple regression. The results for the final analysis revealed that the effect of socio-demographic features was not significant while, among characteristics of job performances, work priority, turnover experience, and career choice reasons turned out to have significant impacts on job satisfaction. In particular, interpersonal relationships except the one with guardians were found to be the most influential variables and the effects of those relationships on job satisfaction were significant. The influencing power was stronger in relationships with director, elderly clients, and colleagues in order, and the job satisfaction level was higher as they were in better relationships with director, elderly clients, and colleagues. The results of this research shows that it is necessary to set an atmosphere where harmonious interpersonal relationships can be formed inside and outside of facilities in order to improve job satisfaction of home-visiting care helpers.

In case of retrofitting a concrete structure subjected to blast load by using retrofit materials such as FRP (fiber-reinforced polymer), appropriate ductility as well as raising stiffness must be obtained. But the previous approximate and simplified models, which have been generally used in the design and analysis of structures subjected to blast load, cannot accurately consider effects on retrofit materials. Problems on the accuracy and reliability of analysis results have also been pointed out. In addition, as the response of concrete and reinforcement on dynamic load is different from that on static load, it is not appropriate to use material properties defined in the previous static or quasi-static conditions to in calculating the response on the blast load. In this study, therefore, an accurate HFPB (high fidelity physics based) finite element analysis technique, which includes material models considering strength increase, and strain rate effect on blast load with very fast loading velocity, has been suggested using LS-DYNA, an explicit analysis program. Through the suggested analysis technique, the behavior on the blast load of retrofitted concrete walls using CFRP (carbon fiber-reinforced polymer) and GFRP (glass fiber-reinforced polymer) have been analyzed, and the retrofit capacity analysis has also been carried out by comparing with the analysis results of a wall without retrofit. As a result of the analysis, the retrofit capacity showing an approximate $26{\sim}28%$ reduction of maximum deflection, according to the retrofit, was confirmed, and it is judged ate suggested analysis technique can be effectively applicable in evaluating effectiveness of retrofit materials and techniques.

The reliability of leaded and lead-free solders of BGA type packages on a printed circuit board was investigated by employing the standard drop test and 4-point bending test. Tested solder joints were examined by optical microscopy to identify associated failure mode. Three-dimensional finite element analysis(FEM) with ANSYS Workbench v.11 was carried out to understand the mechanical behavior of solder joints under the influence of bending or drop impact. The results of numerical analysis are in good agreement with those obtained by experiments. Packages in the center of the PCB experienced higher stress than those in the perimeter of the PCB. The solder joints located in the outermost comer of the package suffered from higher stress than those located in center region. In both drop and bending impact tests, the lead-free solder showed better performances than the leaded solders. The numerical analysis results indicated that stress and strain behavior of solder joint were dependent on various effective parameters.
Purpose - Environmental issues, climatic changes, and greenhouse gases are problems to be solved at a global level. With an increased emphasis on the environmental and social responsibility of the management of companies, the manner in which companies approach quality-oriented culture and their individual sustainability management are being discussed as truly important issues to help them secure their competitiveness and growth strategies. This study proposes strategic directions to help manufacturers not only in expanding their competitive quality-oriented company culture but also in strengthening their sustainability management abilities. This study conducts a literature review and empirical research to examine how significantly the variables of a quality-oriented company culture, customer-centered management, and process-centered and supply chain management-centered cooperation affect sustainability management performance in relation to economic profitability, environmental integrity, and social responsibility. Research design, data, and methodology - To verify research models and hypotheses, the study examined 170 companies using a questionnaire survey conducted over six weeks, and involved the performance of data analysis on 146 samples. Questionnaire responses were calibrated based on a Likert scale. The study used the Smart PLS 2.0 program designed for PLS (partial least squares), an analysis instrument of SEM (structural equation modeling). The study then verified empirical research hypotheses working on reliability analysis, validity analysis, factorial analysis, and path analysis. Results - Among the nine hypotheses, four are accepted and the rest are rejected. A quality-oriented company culture focusing on customer-centered management significantly influenced the maintainability management performance of environmental integrity and social responsibility, while economic profitability was dismissed. A process-focused quality-oriented company culture was significantly concerned with economic profitability but not with environmental integrity or social responsibility. A supply-chain cooperative company culture had a significant effect on economic profitability but not on environmental integrity or social responsibility. Conclusion - This study proposes strategic directions to help manufacturers expand their competitive quality-oriented company culture as well as strengthen abilities with sustainability management. It conducts a literature review and empirical research to examine how significantly the variables of quality-oriented company culture, customer-centered management, and process-centered and supply chain management-centered cooperation affect sustainability management performance in relation to economic profitability, environmental integrity, and social responsibility. There are two main conclusions. First, companies should consider the need for social responsibility management and environmental transparent management-focused maintainability management as avenues to create new markets and business, thereby helping the companies secure a reputation for having a customer and process-centered quality-oriented company culture by creating shared values between supply chains and enabling win-win situations through cooperation. Second, we are marching towards a creative win-win era from a society of conflicts and ruptures. Companies should understand that social responsibility management and supply chain management (SCM)-focused cooperation are the foundations of sustainable development, as they try to improve their culture while pursuing both win-win relationships with interested parties and equity in various conflictive relations.

This paper presents an extensive robust analysis of a ${\mu}$-controller in the hybrid system for various uncertainties using the benchmark cable-stayed bridge. The overall system robustness may be deteriorated by introducing active devices and the active controller may cause instability due to small margins. Therefore, a ${\mu}$-synthesis method that simultaneously guarantees the performance and stability of the closed-loop system (robust performance) with uncertainties is used for active devices to enhance the robustness in company with the inherent reliability of passive devices. The robustness of the ${\mu}$-synthesis method is investigated with respect to the additional mass on the deck, structural stiffness matrix perturbation, time delay of actuator, and combinations thereof. Numerical simulation results show that the proposed control system has the good robustness without loss of control performances with respect to various uncertainties under earthquakes considered in this study. Furthermore, the control system robustness is more affected by the perturbation of structural stiffness matrix than others considered in this study. Therefore, the hybrid system controlled by a ${\mu}$-synthesis method could be proposed as an improved control strategy for a seismically excited cable-stayed bridge containing many uncertainties.
The purpose of this research is to examine and identify the factors that influence the outcome of performances in the popular music market. Therefore, this research analyzes music and concert ticket revenue charts, which serve as the most representative success quotient for singers, to delve into the elements that affect concert performance. Also, to secure reliability and validity of this research, 6 years(2012-2017) worth of data from Gaon Chart, a representative domestic music chart, and Interpark, the largest ticket purchasing site, were collected and analyzed. Research model identified how music chart ranking, genre, tv music shows, type of singer (gender and idol), and career affect concert performance rank via multiple regression analysis. The results suggest that music charts, music bands, tv music shows, and career had a significant effect on concert performance and rise in ranking; and the type of singer (gender and idol) had no significant influence. Finally, the result of this research could contribute to the understanding of the market of popular music.
