A Survey on Recognition of Quality Control of Oriental Medicines by People Who Work in Field of Oriental Medicine (한약재 품질관리에 관한 인식도 조사연구)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to identify attitude, treatment and quality control of Oriental medicines and to find the influencing factors affecting them. Methods : We made a survey of 213 people who work in the field of Oriental medicine in Daegu. A survey on attitudes about treatment, and quality control of Oriental medicines was conducted by mail. The data was analyzed by SPSS. Results : The survey results showed that most common purchase place for Oriental medicine was a wholesale market (67.0%). Storage of Oriental medicine was mostly in warehouse (61.4%) without temperature controls. Subjects expressed necessity for quality control (100%), legal controls (96.2%), grading according to quality (95.7%), and standardization of Oriental medicine (90.6%) at a high rate. Conclusions : These results showed that subjects were interested in quality control of Oriental medicine to ensure safety.

  • As importance of quality control in corporate environments is increasing, new methods for quality control have been suggested by various researchers. Based on gamification theory, this study suggests a new method for quality control. Firstly, this paper defines three problems of quality control that can be easily faced with in corporate environments. Secondly, three gamification methods aiming quality improvement are suggested. Finally, a survey is provided to prove the effect of the suggested gamification methods. Comparing the suggested gamification methods with the existing quality control methods, this study found that the suggested gamification methods could improve the level of quality control.

  • The construction industry consists of various and massive architectural information as an architectural process includes a variety of design stages with cooperation of many disciplines. Particularly, architectural information is generated and managed through the life cycle of a building, from conceptual design stage to the construction and maintenance. A Building Information Model (BIM) serves as a shared knowledge resource for information about a facility forming a reliable basis for decisions during its life-cycle from inception onward. BIM technology accomplished quantitative development being utilized in various disciplines. However, it is necessary to develop environment and requirement for qualitative improvement of BIM based project. Particularly, requirement is very important for architectural design evaluations. The purpose of this study is to develop and apply of quality control check-list for improving the quality of architectural design in BIM environments. To achieve this purpose, the authors have investigated case study for open BIM data quality control (software, guideline and application case) and classified quality control targets according to physical/logical quality control and data quality. In addition, the authors have defined open BIM based quality control process and developed quality control check-list. Finally, the authors have developed automatic quality check system using requirements for efficient quality control based on open BIM.

  • General criteria for the quality of porous concrete have not been established yet in Korea. And yet, pavement and construction have been performed. In this paper, guidelines on the construction site quality control of porous concrete were developed in order to establish criteria for resolving the issues and problems of porous concrete, to establish methods for improving poor performance, and to manage porous concrete more systematically. In addition, a guide for the construction site quality control of porous concrete, which was appropriate for reality, was developed by researching several quality control guides and maintenance at construction sites. The guide consists of a total of nine chapters such as Application Range, Overview, the Structure of Porous Concrete, the Design of Package Thickness, Package Materials for Porous Concrete, Construction Methods, Quality Assurance and Inspections, Construction Site Quality Control, and Maintenance. It describes quality control guidelines in all steps such as methods for transporting porous concrete from the factory to the construction site, cautions for construction work at construction sites, maintenance, and management. The Guide for the Construction Site Quality Control of Porous Concrete is expected to ensure the quality of porous concrete, to reduce national costs for quality assurance, and to help ensure the health and safety of Korean people.

  • As the competition between countries has become higher and the notion of software quality has been widely spread. it has been necessary to develop technologies that can ensure and produce high quality software. With the advent of information-oriented society. quality control has to transfer to the quality control activities focused on software system instead of those activities focused on hardware system. If so, how do we get to handle the quality control on the basis of the new approach. Also, as software applications have grown. so too has the importance of software quality. In order to manage software quality, the technology to specify and evaluate both the software product quality and development process quality objectively quantitatively is most important. To produce products of good quality, we need a more progressive quality control system according to the need of software development life cycle. In other words, we do software right the first time or build quality in the process. On the basis intermediate and final time or build quality in the process. On the basis of data achieved, we can evaluate the products according to the consequences of the data, What are the problems to contrive the software quality control system?, we con promote the quality of products. To achieved that goal, we con provide a suitable the technique and method of software quality control.

Quality Improvement through Monitoring of Imported Medicinal Herbs (수입한약재 품목 분석을 통한 품질 제고)

  • Objectives : Quality control for imported medicinal herbs is duty for regulation, however to the best of our knowledge there has been no report regarding quality control of imported ones. Therefore, this study investigated the data of imported ones for monitoring quality issue. Methods : These data are categorized according to item, the amount of import, country, inspection item, suitability, and incongruity reason based on the 248 results performed by KIOM. Results : China is the number one country for import with the value of 73%. Inspected medicinal herbs were 139 species, among them Poria is ranked as top for requested number and the amount of import. The amount of import is similar between high ranking 20 species and low ranking 119 ones, showing high ranking ones are major. The incongruity ratio was 7.7% from the total number of inspected items, the reason for incongruity was excess of tolerable amount of Cd residue. Conclusions : From the data, it is effective way to focus on high ranking herbs for evaluating imported herbs for quality control. The study of mechanism on Cd accumulation and its decrease is essential for environmental matter. And identification and storage for mixed used and easily decomposable herbs are remained for further study. Our study might be small step for showing guideline for proper quality control.

  • This study analyzes the necessity and situation of the improvement of housing quality control system for the consumer. we find several defeats of the Housing Quality Control System in Korea. Especially there is no any organization that manange the total housing quality control. So this study suggest the home warranty system should be established as soon as possible for protectings home-buyers and improving housing quality.
