  • The primary objective of this paper is to develop an interactive computer graphic aided decision su, pp.rt system for the design of inspection plans for complex production systems. This research first develops a computer simulator, called Simulator for Inspection Systems(SIS), in order to represent the production system as a network model. The simulator elicits fundamental information about the system from the decision maker(DM) in an interactive manner. A decision su, pp.rt system is then proposed by combining SIS and Compromise Programming. The system simulates a set of possible inspection strategies implicitly, observes all the important measurements about the inspection system, and employs the compromise programming a, pp.oach to help the DM determine the best compromising allocation of inspection effort considering his/her preferences. Finally, the performance of the proposed system is evaluated using two test cases. The pros and cons of the system are also discussed.

  • A quality inspection procedure interchangeably using the performance and screening variables is proposed. At the start of the inspection, the performance variable is measured for all items. As soon as i consecutive items are found to be free of defects, the screening variable is measured instead of the performance variable. If an item is rejected, the inspection based on the performance variable is resumed. All nonconforming items found in the inspection are either reworked or replaced with conforming items. It is assumed that the performance variable is dichotomous, and the screening variable given the performance variable is normally distributed with known mean and variance. The average outgoing quality (AOQ) expression is derived, and the methods of finding the inspection procedure with a specified average outgoing quality limit (AOQL) are presented.

  • It is known that the 3D Solid CAD system can provide various information which is useful for implementing CAPP and CAE. However the commercial 3D CAD systems available today do not support the handling of non-geometric information such as geometry tolerance and surface finish. It is impossible to input the non-geometric information during designof parts while CAPP needs the information for selecting machine tools. fiztures, inspection method, etc. In this paper the need of research on handling tolerance information In 3D CAD systems is considered. The development of inspection planning support system is also explained with an example. The development of inspection planning support systm receives the design geometry information from the 3D CAD system in the form of 2D draft and generates the inspection data base and the inspection sheet through the user interaction.

  • In this study, we propose a technological system designed to provide machine vision-based automatic inspection and autonomous operation services for an entire process related to product inspection in wire harness manufacturing. The smart factory paradigm is a valuable and necessary goal, small companies may encounter steep barriers to entry. Therefore, the best approach is to develop towards this approach gradually in stages starting with the relatively simple improvement to manufacturing processes, such as replacing manual quality assurance stages with machine vision-based inspection. In this study, we consider design issues of a system based on the proposed technology and describe an experimental implementation. In addition, we evaluated the implementation of the proposed technology. The test results show that the adoption of the proposed machine vision-based automatic inspection and operation service system for multi-wire harness production may be considered justified, and the effectiveness of the proposed technology was verified.

  • This paper describes the issue relating to the design and implementation of a high-precision vision system for monitor inspection. We present several monitor inspection algorithms which evaluate the geometric distrotions of the patterns on the inspection target monitor. Also, to inspect color distortion acquired form color CCD camera into the XYy coordinate, accurately. The proposed monitor inspection system is implemented on IBM PC/486, and the user interface is developed on microsoft windows to assist unskilled users for easy use. Using the developed vision system, Experiments on the inspection accuracy and speed were performed and the results are presented.

  • The study aims to supplement facility management plan and safety regulations & standard of oil pipeline by searching and reviewing related regulation & standard inside and outside of the country. Korean regulation & standard is reviewed based on harbor and fishery design standard of the ministry of maritime affairs and fisheries, general technology standard of oil pipeline safety regulation, gas excavation construction and safety maintenance indicator of Korea gas corporation. Global regulation & standard is reviewed based on U.S standard inspection for offshore pipeline and Europe/Mexico standard inspection for offshore pipeline. The contents of offshore pipeline installation is inserted into pipeline sector for objected facilities of safety inspection regulation & standard and, the standard of safety inspection for offshore pipeline is newly presented into pipeline maintenance part of the planning facilities management with its inspection period and method.

  • The molybdenum cup and molybdenum pin, which are the main materials of the molybdenum electrode used for the LCD BLU CCFL electrode, did not been developed in Japan and all of them are imported and used from Japan, is giving a competitive burden. In this research, to develop the manufacturing technology of molybdenum pin used for CCFL electrode of LCD BLU, development of linear processing technology, development of molybdenum wire surface treatment technology, development of wire cutting technology, production of molybdenum pin, design and fabrication of JIG and Fixture for inspection, molybdenum pin prototyping and analysis, and development of 100% molybdenum pin inspection technology. In this paper, especially, research on design and manufacturing of JIG and Fixture for molybdenum pin manufacturing and inspection is treated.
