미술관 단위전시실의 경로선택 유형과 관람행동 특성에 관한 고찰 (A Study on Characteristic of Visitor's Behavior and Circulation Path Type in Art Museum Exhibition Space)

  • This study attempts to understand the arrangement and spatial requisites of art pieces by materializing the visitors' path of movement in the exhibition space, as well as researching their behavior. The purpose of the research is to the guideline for planning the exhibition layout and visitors' circulation can be derived in order to correspond to the visitors' characteristic of movement and circulation-path choice. Although such guideline may have limited use, it is still significant enough to be studied. Taking three Korean art galleries as the subjects of research, this study observes the arrangement of art pieces, movement path of visitors, characteristics of the visitors' behavior and the duration time a visitor takes to view an art piece without moving around in order to understand the arrangement and spatial requisites of art pieces which correspond to the visitors' behavior. The following results have been drawn in this research and analysis; First, when there is an island type exhibition other than the ordinary on-the-wall display in the exhibition space, the visitors' choice of path changes. In short, an island type exhibition seems to be a factor that changes the visitors' path. Second, in the entrance of an exhibition space unit, most of the visitors seem to choose a path which moves counter-clockwise. Third, it is considered that well-known art pieces or art pieces with a big size shall not be displayed on the comer of the exhibition room.

  • A thesis presented on the study of visitors circulation character, and components in an exhibition space in museums. A behavior ethogram is an investigational tool of tracing examination of visitors. An exhibition layout and behavior characters of exhibition viewing in the configuration of exhibition space are planned by using the method of the behavior ethogram. As time goes by an expansion of a museums concept and changing roles are more extroversive and constructive than the past. It will reflect the phases of the times and show several different aspects. The reflection of the changing circumstance will have to examine an each relationship between exhibition data, exhibition spaces and visitors In the beginning of a plan of the museum. However, the study of a unique behavior pattern and character which are made by moving visitors themselves are quietly not enough studied. The exhibition layout which is considerably examined by the viewing behavior of visitors in act response and a following circulation of viewing have a lack of precise directions and examples. In short, this study ultimately represents to grasp the meaning of the behavior characters of viewing. Furthermore, the basic directions in the museums plan are carefully considered by the reflection of exhibition circulation.

박물관자료의 보존을 위한 전시공간 환경계획에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Environment Planning of Exhibition Space for Conservation of Collection in a Museum)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the design guidelines of exhibition space for conservation of collection in a museum. With the purpose of this study, examined the concept and a condition of conservation which is focused on deterioration in a exhibition space, investigated the actual condition of total 42 facilities and analyzed the specific instance which is excellent by factor of environment plan. Hereupon, the results of this study are as follows. First, exhibition space should be equipped with sufficient 'Filtering Space' before the outdoor and located central territory in a museum facility. Second, exhibition space should be partition off an area into the quality of collection, and then controlled by each of them. Third, in consideration of the annual air fluctuation of our country, the database which is adaptable for setting up the standard of temperature and RH must be prepared. Fourth, it is necessary to establish a 'Reference Exhibition Room' which is formed cellular type and a 'Garnering Exhibition Center'. Fifth, for the prevention of deterioration which is generated in exhibition space, the showcase must be high air-tight. Sixth, it is necessary to reduce a inside space of high air-tight showcase. Seventh, art-sorb is suitable for control the organic matter of collection and a except of fiber optics is not suitable for lighting of showcase. Eighth, wall-type showcase should be have air-chamber which is formed like museum storage and run over 8 hours a day.

  • The growth of the Exhibition Design Industry has been exponential both internationally and domestically since the composition and fusion of Artistic Culture and information. Since the introduction of various Display Techniques, such as, augmented reality, Virtual Reality, and 3D interactive applications, the Exhibition Display Industry has seen innovative development. Furthermore, this has transpired a new wave of change and globalization in social network and thru creative Exhibition Design this has become a turning point in the Exhibition Design Industry. The aim of this research is to find Influencing factors of domestic Exhibition Design Industry members. These factors thru self-efficacy and job satisfaction will study objectively to find what influences duty result and help members of Exhibition Design Industries to work comfortably and to increase productivity we are proposing effective and efficient development methods. To do this, we are suggesting a research model applied on variables of the mindfulness theory which is based on the emphasized unconsciousness which represents the existence of the mind. To objectively verify this research model, we have conducted surveys on Exhibition Design Industry workers and a Material Designer in Seoul.

몰입형 디스플레이 기반 체험전시 디자인에서의 게임기획 요소 적용 사례 연구 (An exhibition case study applying game design elements in the design of immersive display exhibition)

  • 최근 디지털미디어 기술의 발전으로 관객에게 실감 나고 사실적인 전시 체험을 제공하는 몰입형 체험전시들이 늘어나고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 몰입형 체험전시들의 대표사례들을 전시연출 요소를 중심으로 분석하고, 몰입형 체험전시 연출 및 기획에 게임기획 요소를 적용하여 개최 및 운영한 '히어로의 모험' (이하 히어로의 모험) 전시 사례를 소개하였다. 본 전시는 도전, 목표, 갈등, 규칙, 승패와 같은 게임기획 요소를 적용하여, 캐릭터의 갈등구조 설정 및 악당 캐릭터를 물리치는 도전과 목표를 제시하고, 승패를 가루는 전시 게임들을 제공하여, 최종 보스까지 물리치도록 전시를 디자인했다. 연구를 통해 관객의 전시 만족을 위해 게임 요소 적용이 더 효과적이다 보기는 어렵지만, 관객의 콘텐츠 소비 시간을 늘리고 재방문을 높이기 위해서는 게임기획 요소 적용을 고려하는 것을 제언하는 바이다.

  • Contemporary Korean art in the 1960s and the 1970s reflects the social and political contexts in Korea from the 5 16 revolution through the Yoo Shin period. This paper investigates whether art has been free from power or not. It examines the power embedded in contemporary Korean art in the 1960s and the 1970s. This paper examines the historical moments of the Korean Art Exhibition, focusing on the complications between the abstract and figurative artworks of the 1960s. One of the significant art exhibitions since the 8 15 liberation of Korea, the Korean Art Exhibition witnessed conflict among Korean artists who wanted to have power in the art world of Korea. Institutional contradiction based on factionalism and conservatism prevailed in the Korean Art Exhibition was attacked by the avant-garde young artists in the 1960s. With the contact of Abstract Expressionism, young artists' generation participated in the The Wall Exhibition. This exhibition challenged and established moral principles and visualized individual expression and creation similar to the Informal movement in the West. In the world of the traditional painting of Korea, the Mook Lim Exhibition of 1960, organized by young artists of traditional painting, advocated the modernization of Soo Mook paintings. Additionally, abstract sculptures in metal engraving were the new trends in the Korean Art Exhibition. In the 1970s, the economic development and establishment of a dictatorial government made the society stiffen. Abstract expression died out and monochrome painting was the most influential in the 1970s. After the exhibition of Five Korean Artists, Five White Colors in the Tokyo Central Art Museum in 1976, monochrome paintings were formally discussed in Korea. 'Flatness' 'physicality of material' 'action' 'post-image' 'post-subjectivity' and 'oriental spirituality' were the critical terms in mentioning the monochrome paintings of the 1970s. 'Korean beauty' was discussed, focusing on the beauty of white which was addressed by not only Yanagi Muneyoshi but also the policy of national rehabilitation under the Yoo Shin government. At this time, the monochrome paintings of the 1970s in Korea, addressing art for art's sake, cutting of communication with the masses, and elitism, came to be authorized.

박물관 빛 환경과 관람행태의 상관관계에 관한 연구 - 조도에 의한 관람확률과 관람빈도의 해석을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Relationship between Light Environment and Visitors' Behavior in a Museum - Focus on the Interpretation of Tracking Score and Tracking Frequency with Intensity of Illumination -)

  • The studies published up to now, related to the correlation between spatial structure and visitors' behavior in a museum are rather relatively lacking when it comes to the in-depth consideration for the effect of the actual exhibition environment. So the main purpose of this study is to define the correlation between the light environment and the visitors' behavior. Towards this end, this study uses 'space syntax' to quantify the spatial structure with 'integration', 'connectivity' and 'control value'. Meanwhile, 'tracking score' and 'tracking frequency' were selected as the scope among the indices of behavior's analysis. The results of this study are as follows; First, integration and correlation of tracking score and tracking frequency are lowest when it comes to the extra large historical museums where the difference of intensity of illumination by each convex space. Meanwhile, the most considerable effect is exerted by control value. Compared to tracking score, tracking frequency is closely related to 'syntactic variables'. Second, visitors do not take the short cut the dark exhibition space even when very dark exhibition spaces continue after passing through relatively bright space. Analysis of visitors' behavior by control value in the exhibition space composed of this type of intensity of illumination environment is not valid. Third, visitors move to relatively brighter transitional space compared to the exhibition space with low intensity of illumination when passing through dark exhibition continually. Meanwhile, when visitors pass through the exhibition space there is some difference intensity of illumination they move to relatively dark exhibition center among the subsequent exhibition spaces. Accordingly, when the composition of exhibition space that continues onto the environment of low intensity of illumination is inevitable, differentiating intensity of illumination appropriately would be effective in inducing visit to the subsequent exhibition space.

마케팅믹스 7P를 이용한 미술작가의 전시장 만족도 결정요인 실증연구 (An Empirical Study on Determinants of Satisfaction of The Artist's Exhibition Hall Using Marketing-Mix 7P's)

  • 전시공간을 이용하는 미술작가는 전시공간 운영자나 단체에서 제공하는 마케팅활동에 영향을 받아 전시공간을 선정한다고 볼 수 있기 때문에 마케팅활동과 만족요인의 관계를 연구할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 미술작가의 전시장 만족도 결정요인을 실증하기 위하여 이론적 배경으로 마케팅믹스 7P요인과 만족도, 선행연구를 살펴보고, 연구모형을 설계하여 실증하고, 결론을 제시하였다. 전시장을 이용한 미술작가 144명에게 수거한 설문지를 분석한 결과, 마케팅믹스 7P요인 중 제품, 가격, 진행 과정이 전시장 만족도에 영향을 미쳤고, 영향력은 진행 과정, 제품, 가격 순으로 나타났다. 이것을 바탕으로 시사점을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 마케팅믹스 7P요인 중 제품, 가격, 진행 과정이 전시장 만족도에 영향을 미쳤다는 것은 실제 전시와 관련이 있는 요인을 중시한다는 것으로서 작가와 작품과 관람객이 소통하는 장소, 기회, 과정 등을 중시하는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 둘째, 마케팅믹스 7P요인 중 진행 과정이 전시장 만족도에 가장 큰 영향을 미쳤는데, 이것은 서비스 전달과정을 중시한다는 것으로서 관람객을 적절히 통제하여 상호작용을 제고하려는 것으로 볼 수 있다.

작품-인간-환경의 관계설정에 따른 미술관 전시공간의 유형적 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Typological Analysis of the Museum Exhibition Space by Interrelationship Between Object, Human and Environment)

  • Since 20th century, the exhibition has expanded to more diverse fields and recognized as the medium which can build network among the Art, Human and society. Space design, although developed within mutual interaction and consideration of environment factors, has been treated without those background. Therefore it is straightforward to examine the exhibition space design synthetically not limit it by the analytical elements. Assuming three main mutual interactions, object human, and environment, we have attempt the typological analysis to the museum exhibition space by studying characteristics. While the exhibition space design has been analyzed through two dimensional interpretation, on this study, we structuralize diverse discussion of the exhibition space design by relation-centered and relative analysis. Therefor we examine the characteristic of design expression through typology of both physical and behavioral feature. In the conclusion, the outcome provides insights into the relationships among object, human and environment and useful measurements to designer who outline exhibition space design.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of exhibition circulation which is caused by behavioral factors of visitor's movement and spatial factors in museums. It looks into the factors under the influence with the visitor's movement. The consideration of exhibition circulation may be classified into 2 categories. one is spatial factors which can make a exhibition circulation according to the extent of exhibition space display density position of exit display style and display secenario. and another is the behavioral factors of visitor's movement according to the time speed proportion of appreciation and visiting rate. The method of analysis is statistics of investigation by following after visitors. Through this data we found out that there are correlation with two categories. Therefore each factor that makes an exhibition circulation with organic relevancy have influence on the visitor's movement directly. So appropriate to the planning of each factor can offer visitors to more effective environment of exhibition.
